There is no sling in DSotSC or NTotSC. Not sure where you got it but if a monster in DS or NT had the item, they had a standard item in the game, not something that comes with either mod.

I have found that sling, I guess, but I don't remember where. It has a different icon and indeed does not report the increase in Thac0 in its description, but when I access the PC's report the +3 is present.

i don't exactly remember where i found it but i've been under the impression that it was in an area near the forest of the forgotten souls, an area that doesn't exist in vanilla BG1

i think i got a +3 sling somewhere around the forest of fogotten souls

i get the information it is +3 when i put my mouse pointer over the icon - then it says "sling +3", but there's no information about its increased +3 quality in the item description - it looks exactly like a desription of a normal sling

has anyone come across anything like that, is it really a +3 sling?

in BG2 tweaks v3 you can install the following tweak :ToB-Style NPCs - This component will alter all joinable NPCs to join in the same fashion as Throne of Bhaal, where NPCs immediately level-up upon joining, with a caveat: all creature files are moved down to their lowest experience version, so if you pick up an NPC early enough they will not level upon joining. However, later in the game they will, allowing you to select weapon proficiencies, thieving points, and other goodies from the level-up process.

how would my game change if i installed it - would that mean that e.g. if i was lvl 20 and a lvl 20 mage joined me, i could select his proficiences, etc as if backwards?


frankly speaking, i can't work out this explanation, maybe someone could help


could someone please give an example of joining NPC SoA vs ToB regarding the above-mentioned twweak?

yes, but i've just resintalled my mods and BGT 1.04 without editing buldur.ini and i didn't notice any errors during installation but after installation the lines:
CD1:=E:\CD1\
CD2:=E:\CD2\
CD3:=E:\CD3\
CD4:=E:\CD4\
CD5:=E:\CD5\
CD6:=E:\CD6\
are still in the baldur.ini - is it how it's supposed to be?

i think that with BGT 1.02 one was supposed to use a BGT_fix_files -

"unzip it to the BGT/Compat/BGT/Replace folder before installation because:

The BG2 Fixpack v1 alters a script block in AR0602.BCS to prevent players exploiting a failing in the script to keep their equipment in SOA. BGT also alters this same script block in order to manage the transition from BG1 to BG2; as a result, any game with both the fixpack and BGT installed (which should be all games with BGT installed) will hang during the starting cutscene of BG2."


is it still necessary with BGT v1.04?

one silly question - when do i start the chores component? if i start the game from the beginning and have BGT, will i start the chores at the very beginning of the game when i'm inexperienced in Candlekeep, or when i have killed sarevok and i'am starting SoA?

2. NEJ2v42 + NEJ2v602 patch, and NEJ2 biffer v3 if using BP-weidu (but see *note)
3. SoS v1.11 and/or TDD v1.11 and/or CtB v1.8 and/or Tortured Souls for BP v6.09 and/or Reign of Terror v2.0 - in any order (but note: NEJ2 and CtB have some incompatibilities. be sure you want to install both of these before you go ahead and do so)
4. Baldur's Gate Trilogy v1.02 (read the instructions in readme file before installing) and NeJ2-BGT compat patch if using both NEJ2 and BGT
5. Dark Side of the Sword Coast v1.85
6. Northern Tales of the Sword Coast v1.45

8. All other mods, except the ones on this list (they should go after Big Picture v177)

sorry, this may be off topic but i have one more question - during installation of BG2 tweaks i got an error - when i was trying to install the component connected with item identification by innkeepers, the installer wouldn't install this componennt and there was a message that there was an error - the installer couldn't find or copy something (don't remember exactly), i had to leave this component out eventually, but i installed the rest of the components that i wanted without problems, and the rest of the mods too

so my question is this - has the problems with installation of this component messed everything up and it's better i install everything again? or can i go on to play the game?

i noticed that most mods have something like Backup folder - so it would seem like they backed changed files up in case there should be problems...

is there a BG1/2 editor that allowed detecting possible conflicts among mods that have been installed?

there are sometimes such editors for other games, e.g. Morrowind has one or two simillar editors and they can check the mod files and produce a report about possible conflicts regarding graphics, dialouges, items, etc

i was wondering if there's anything similar for BG or if anyone has ever tried to do something like that for BG?

i've just got Revised_BP_BGT_v6.5_TP2_for_NO_BGT_Installed.rar and inside there's Setup-BP-BGT-Worldmap.tp2

do you mean that i have to:

1. uninstall Game Graphics User Interface
2. uninstall Defjam
3. uninstall worldmap

4. replace old Setup-BP-BGT-Worldmap.tp2 with the new one

5. install 3,2,1

?

(by the way, i'm using BP-BGT-Worldmap-v6.3 with some modofications done to links.tbl) - or do i have to install ver 6.5? i'v just noticed it is vailable?

fabio's bard's ring is equipped at the beginning, but it is kind of red and when i take it off and put it into his inventory, it cannot be equipped again


i have v2.05


any ideas how to solve this problem? i tired to use an item editor and edit the 'bhbardr.itm' file but it doesn't seem to help...

i'm in the forest of forgotten souls and i found Banshee and fought her but she disappeared from time (or maybe used teleportation, i don't know), and finally she disappeared and i can't find her, i couldn't kill her, i've been looking for her walking round the whole map but she's nowhere to be found


any ides where/how to find her?
