Big World could really benefit from a comprehensive single webpage on SHS... hell after all these years it still doesn't even have its own forum

Well since it appears everything is great now - and the stuttering is fixed! - I guess I can fire it up!

I was under the impression that BWS didn't really work anymore? I was here several months ago and the only Big World Installer was a crappy hacky DOS interface and you had to manually download every mod (the biggest luxury of the installer is auto download / extract / install in order).

Isn't that the old installer? Wasn't someone working on a new one? I see it's Dabus's who was the original creator but I thought he quit.

This would probably be easier if Big World had its own forum I could find this crap in, but since the last time I installed the BWP was years ago nobody seems to have had that idea in the meantime yet.

Anyway, last time I used it I had this awesome GUI that downloaded and installed everything for me. Which no longer works and now we're back to the stone ages and downloading / installing mods is like a two-day process now.

Just curious but what happened that rendered the program violently incompatible? I keep hearing a whisper about a 'resurrection' but don't see any 'work in progress' threads so can't see much about that either.

I hope this all works and gets in TobEx soon I was just about to undertake the massive job of loading new mods with a fresh install but I don't see the point if such a dramatic and critical breakthrough would be missing!

I've always wanted to play a BWP from start to dramatic end but I've never made it much beyond Athkatla because by that point I'm usually playing the game in slow motion, and end up having to ctrl+J everywhere. At some point I eventually just give up because it's not worth it.

I can't believe it was even possible to fix something like this.
