Thanks for the hint, I'll give it a try. :)

@Argent

I've noticed that NI's Bam converter (awesome tool by the way) has issues with bigger file/frame sizes. Using larger frames (which the EE's can handle) or too many will result in an unexpected error when trying to save. I assume this is some kind of memory issue.

To clarify: the converter can handle larger frames just fine as long as there are just a few but it can't handle enough to save a full set of 8 animation sequences..

#604773 General Discussion

If you really, really wanted to allow for WW and similar abilities to apply their hast effects you could probably change your item to apply that buff once per second and then patch WW, GWW, EBs and so on to first remove that effect before continuing to apply their normal effects.

I second that, thanks Creepin.

I really don't get why Temnix hasn't been banned yet.

That guy is toxicity incarnate even when he's just in his usual mode of condescending delusions of grandeur and isn't spewing deranged insults at other forum members.

#601763 [MOD] Shine On Caelar

Posted by Ulb on 16 April 2018 - 02:10 PM in Miscellaneous Released Mods

Hey, can you elaborate what conditions cause the additional dialogue options (at dead man's pass)  to show/not show up?

I'm at that stop right now but have no option to overrule the NPC leaders.

I would rather have not over-exposure this until 0.2, which is 60% done by now.

Makes sense :)

#601594 Protection from undead races vs. UNDEAD General

NO_RACE is a race, you dumb fuck! Get out of my thread before I send some fucking virus your way!

I wonder if people like you are really delusional enough to not understand they are just a total joke to everyone else?

#601460 Wraithform

Really man ?!?

splwi315.spl

The alteration in the description is just for taste. Aka it's not actual in game feature. All you had to do was a Near Infinity search.

He never said otherwise?

#601455 Dreamwalker Shaman Kit

Posted by Ulb on 03 April 2018 - 03:18 AM in BG:EE Modding

I made a mistake and left out some new code in the 1.1 installer.

If you downloaded the mod between the time of the 1.1 update and this post (~15 minutes) you will have to re-download the mod or the Nightmare Imprisonment spell won't work proprly.

Sorry.

Updated to v1.1

#601452 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by Ulb on 03 April 2018 - 02:51 AM in Mega Mod Help

What you say makes sense.

If such a one-click system isn't sustainable or wanted anymore, it might be a good idea to promote user generated installation lists. I assume most "veterans" already work off their own evolving lists, so promoting them a bit might offer inexperienced users a good starting point to get a relatively conflict free installation running.

As for the expert flag, I think this is a separate issue.

The expert flag should in my opinion set aside mods that either have technical issues or provide content that is not up to a minimum standard.

Of course "minimum standard" is, again, a matter of opinion. (If it was up to me, mods that are not fully translated would definitely be flagged expert :P)

The minimum standard aside, mods that no longer have technical issues should of course be unflagged. Your post above just made it sound a bit like you're feeling compelled to just unflag everything regardless whether those issues are fully resolved or not..

#601450 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by Ulb on 03 April 2018 - 12:32 AM in Mega Mod Help

I can't comment on the mods in question.

I just want to say that I hope this isn't "inspired" by all the recent talk about how terribly biased the BWS is.

Just because some people raise concerns doesn't mean they are right or that what they suggest is the best for the BWS. This is especially true if some of those people have made it abundantly clear in the past that they do not like the BWS in general and would rather have people not use it at all..

Whether the creators intended for it to be or not, the BWS has always been opinionated and it needs to be. If I am presented with multiple conflicting mods I want an experienced opinion as to which one provides the most stable experience, closest to vanilla content quality. The BWS doesn't prevent people from making a different choice, it instead provides them with easy access to the mods' hompages for a deeper inspection.

If an unexperienced user gets presented with 17 mod conflicts in their mega mod install and the BWS is like "Yeah, have fun figuring that out" then why would anyone even want to use the tool at all?

Nearly all of them are now removed. All choices are given to the users

I mean, if the mods removed from the expert list are indeed not causing any more issues then it is of course the right move to unflag them but somehow I can't believe that "nearly all of them" suddenly got updates overnight?

#601399 Dreamwalker Shaman Kit

Posted by Ulb on 01 April 2018 - 01:28 PM in BG:EE Modding

Let me know what you think.

I was actually about to re-do the Far Realm Seer kit when I had the idea for this one.. :P

Btw, kit is fully functional and no bugs as far as I can tell but I'm planning on adding one or two new spells and push some minor fixes (like adding the cloud spell to the zone of sweet air clear) in the next few days.

If you're about to do a new install and are interested, send me a message and I'll see if I can get you the updated version.

#601397 Adding to CLEARAIR.2DA not working

Posted by Ulb on 01 April 2018 - 10:13 AM in IE Help

Thank you!

So it's the ("projectile number" -"1")?

Strange that iesdp doesn't mention that at all...

This file defines which projectiles are cleared by the Zone of Sweet Air effect (#273).
In BG2EE we have:

2DA V1.0
0
                Projectile
Stinking_Cloud 94
Cloudkill 186
Death_Fog 276
Writhing_fog 331

So, now I just have to find out how math operations work in WeidU.

SET PRO_NMB = ("410" - "1")

doesn't seem to work, with or without quotation marks and parentheses..

#601393 Is there a good way to detect sleep?

It works!

Thanks a lot all of you!

#601390 Is there a good way to detect sleep?

Posted by Ulb on 01 April 2018 - 05:34 AM in IE Help

WeidU still doesn't like it, though it got more unspecific as to why it doesn't like it. :P

COPY_EXISTING ~splprot.2da~ ~override~
  COUNT_2DA_COLS cols
  READ_2DA_ENTRIES_NOW
  FOR (row = 1; row < rows; ++row) BEGIN
    READ_2DA_ENTRY_FORMER rows row 0 ~state~
    PATCH_IF ~%state%~ STRING_EQUAL_CASE ~ULB_SLEEP~ BEGIN
      SET sleep_row = %row%
    END
    PATCH_IF ~%state%~ STRING_EQUAL_CASE ~ULB_NOSLEEP~ BEGIN
      SET NOsleep_row = %row%
    END
END

#601388 Adding to CLEARAIR.2DA not working

Posted by Ulb on 01 April 2018 - 02:29 AM in IE Help

Another issue.

I'm trying to make my cloud spell clear-able by the zone of sweet air op code but it just doesn't seem to work.

I'm appending Clearair.2da with this code

APPEND ~CLEARAIR.2DA~ ~Dream Dust           %UB!DWPR%~ UNLESS ~%UB!DWPR%~
(APPEND ~CLEARAIR.2DA~ ~Dream Dust          410~ UNLESS ~410~)

(Using the 410 one for testing on an installed projectile, but it shouldn't change anything)

The line gets added just fine and looks good compared to the other lines in the 2da file but the projectile doesn't get cleared by zone of sweet air anyway?

PS: I tried it with Dream_Dust and the projectile name, just in case there is some naming convetion that doesn't like spaces but that didn't help either..
