Just one question: Who is Dir En Grey?

#165154 Got bored, made orc

Those are pretty good, esp. if you made them from scratch. Only 1 thing: It could be me, but does it skin look a little black?

#148234 Most powerful characters from Toril

Posted by icelandismine on 01 September 2004 - 04:55 AM in Delusions of the Mind

Well, currently, Elminster is god. Especially with 3rd edition rules, since the CR gives us a way to compare at least levels accurately. Elmintser- CR48

Some more powerful figures:
Szass Tam-Red Wizard, zulkir of necromancy in Thay. Nec10 Red10 Acm2 Epic7
Note: Has a 16th level spell slot.

Actually, that's all I can think of that hasn"T been said.

#143472 first impressions...

Posted by icelandismine on 19 August 2004 - 07:11 AM in Longer Road

Sorry. I don't know if this has been posted already, but it's far to early for me to read this much.

Going through Hell, dying twice, having a soul ripped from your body, that can't be a pleasent experience....In 3rd edition, you lose a level just for being normally ressurected. Irenicus has had anything but a normal and pleasent death and ressurection. That has to take a beating on his soul.

Tone him down a bit, level 20 would br excellent. (I think, not a play tester so take my suggestions woorht a grain of salt.)

#143470 Can the faithless be resurected in the Realms?

Posted by icelandismine on 19 August 2004 - 07:05 AM in Delusions of the Mind

Almost certainly true.  The problem is that so many dramatic plots depend on the lost lover, the fallen friend, the loved one beyond reach, etc.

It's very tough to write a tale of loss when the Death of X can be fixed at any time by a visit to the local priest. At most, you can get some mild pathos out of a poor family trying to save up to bring back a loved one, but then that says something dark about the motivations of "Good" priests.

For that matter, the certainty of an afterlife makes many sorts of story less viable.

For this dialog, I need a tragedy. If it's trite, I'll have to live with that.

See, the problem is, most things can be fixed in the FR by finding a mage or cleric and having them cast X spell for Y money. Money is the major issue; almost everyone in the FR has never even had a quarter of the money to raise someone at once. Perhaps, you can make a tragety about a rich family, and about how money can't buy everything...

#142823 Can the faithless be resurected in the Realms?

Posted by icelandismine on 17 August 2004 - 11:18 AM in Delusions of the Mind

More specific info:

If you are faithless, then you stay in the wall, and are decomposed by mold untill they are completly gone. Nothing can save them then. The False are punished according to their crimes. Some get realtivly easy punishment, some are punished horribly. All live withen the city. And a wish or miracle spell to bring them back may not do so. Even if you're deity agrees, they will have to negoiate with
Kelemvor.

One other fate:
Their are Baatezu on the Fugue plane (where the dead are), and they have a deal with Kelemvor. They cannot harm or trick the souls, and explain to them where they are. They then bargain with the souls for their, well, souls. The souls can become a Lemure (weakest devil), which can become more powerful over time. Sometimes, the souls are rewards for doing so, such as early promotions, or rewards for family or friends on the Prime, or devilish attacks on enemies.

#142505 Can the faithless be resurected in the Realms?

Posted by icelandismine on 16 August 2004 - 07:48 AM in Delusions of the Mind

According to the 3rd edition FR campgin setting sourcebook, in which Kelemvor is the god of the dead, the wall is stll up. If you die, and have no faith, or if you betrayed your faith, then you have about a day to be ressurected or raised normally. After that, you have been brought to the City of the Dead, and that is bad. You need a wish or miracle spell to bring you back then.

#142112 Latest news on the mod

If we have the original Redemption installed, can we just install this over it?

#138652 Hendrix

Posted by icelandismine on 02 August 2004 - 11:08 AM in IE Mod Ideas

I am working on it right now. The Rock Stars can use 1 weapon very well...
THE AXE!

The guitars will be nice, though any bard can use them unfortuantly.

#137715 Drizzt HP ?

Just a note on fantasy novels:

The older BattleTech novels (Esp. The Stackpole authored ones) are pretty good readings.

#137410 Bard Songs

Posted by icelandismine on 30 July 2004 - 07:35 AM in IE Help

Is there a way to change the Icon or FX for the bard song button? Esp. for one kit or character in particular?

EDIT: And how do you change what a kits bard song does?

#137399 Prestige class

#137375 Prestige class

Is there a prestige class MOD being done? If so, do you think 1 more class would hurt it... :D

#136579 Hendrix

Posted by icelandismine on 28 July 2004 - 05:42 PM in IE Mod Ideas

I was thinking...
For the kit, they could use NO weapons. Not one. They have to rely on their "Guitar Riff" and they're special guitar items. They would do all sorts of fun stuff. Being able to use no weapons could be justified by the fact most of them are overly pampered and don't know how to do much...except of David Lee Roth and Ted Nugent, of course.

Baldur.bcs? Is that a global, always active script?

#136207 Hendrix

Would you mind if I created your idea when I get a chance? With obviously some rockin' items involved... :D

#136196 Changing Kits

Posted by icelandismine on 27 July 2004 - 05:30 PM in IE Help

The one that forces the Slayer change may be in the area script for Spellhold actually. If we can't attach the script to the protanganist, we could attach it to the creature or area that the kit would change in, and change the target around.

#136008 Changing Kits

Posted by icelandismine on 27 July 2004 - 07:15 AM in IE Help

Great! We are good to go now.
I just don't understand is why the spell needs to be forced.

The only problem with running the script from the chararcter is that scripts can be changed, and protaginists don't have overrides, methinks.

#135762 Changing Kits

How can you be able to change a kit in game through dialog? If possible, please tell me how to do it by writing it in a .D file, but I suppose I can deal with scripting.
Thanks.

#134979 Icewind Dale II

Posted by icelandismine on 24 July 2004 - 12:41 PM in IE Help

I have a feeling that the project may be on hold until Wes gets his Ph.D., though.

Who cares about a Ph.D.?!?! Icewind Gate is much more important!

#134932 Icewind Dale II

Is WeiDU IWD2 friendly? If so, does that mean I can write dialogs and other stuff like I you can in BGII?
