One needs only to look at the Mod Ideas forum to see that there are a ton of good ideas for characters. Yet so many of them never leave the ground for the author's lack of coding knowledge. So this month I give you the opportunity to bring your creations to life, if only for a time. Draw those crazy people out of your head and unleash them in word. And who knows; maybe, with encouragement, coding isn't too hard to learn afterall.

In Baldur's Gate, the player begins at the age of 20. In fact in many other games the protagonist is around that age. It seems 20 is a magical age, no matter what world you're in. It's the age of a second beginning. It's the coming of age. See at that mystical 20th summer your character is finally ready for the adventure of their lives. But what about their first entries to adulthood? Or what about their companions? What was the first thing that Gorion's ward did, that set him apart as a man. When did Aerie finally show that she was fully grown. When did they have their coming of age? And perhaps, what were the results of it?
How to join

I might argue Lathander is closer, as a deity associated with the sun, and specifically opposed to undead.
If you're main idea is that he's for Undead removal, most clerics would be useful. Lathander and Kelemvor are both very against the undead, and would fit if that's what you were after. Keep in mind however that Kelemvor is a very new deity by BG timing(I think he was elevated to godhood that same year), and story-wise I think BG keeps Cyric as god of Murder to this point, and Kelemvor is god of Death. Technically Bhaal's portfolio was "death (especially violent or ritual murder)," so the hairsplitting detail means that both Kel and Cyr now have pieces of Bhaal's portfolio. One suspects that Kelemvor didn't interfere as much as Cyric because of his LN alignment, or he was busy with other things.

I did some browsing around on the forum to determine which version I wanted to grab, the 2CD or 4CD. This thread suggests the 2CD, but Qwinn mentioned here that he knew of a few people experiencing various errors with the 2CD version. And a post here (admittedly rather old) suggests that the 2 disc version is less than desirable for WeiDU.
So I'm thinking the 4 disc is the one to go with?
If it's relevant I've got Windows XP SP3. NVidia 7300 GS. AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+. 2 GHz.
I'm watching a 4 disc one on Ebay that ends in about 20 hours, so the quicker the answer the better.

I have questions!
I'd like to participate in the fanfic challenges, since I haven't done fanfic in a while and I'd like to get back into it. (I wrote several well-received BG fanfics a few years ago, but have been working on original stories since then.) So, seeing 19 posted challenges got me all excited. But... is there an "expiration date" for old challenges? Can I still post on Challenge 18? (Or 13? or 3?) Or is only the most recent available, since there's a new one each month?

Second, to your question of expiration dates for challenges. We're glad that any of the challenges could give you inspiration; it's been a while since we had any new authors in fact. While we like to see entries for the current challenge, we certainly won't tell you not to write something for a previous challenge. If you'd like you can make yourself a thread in Scribbles specifically for the challenges you missed, or you can place your entries here and liven up the forum a little bit. I leave the decision up to you.
(Still got my fingers crossed that you come up with something for 19 though.
I love the little folk.)

I do believe Unfinished Business does add Artemis, but only if you bring Drizzt to see Bodhi. That's as much as I've ever heard of Entreri being in BG2.

One could wonder if it was supposed to be Illasera as she was noticeably changed from her original idea as a ranger. If so, perhaps it was supposed to indicate a greater role she was intended to play. But then again, she still has to be dead by the end of ToB, or else she has to be there at the Throne. The solar says all the essence was returned.
