#227296 V3 is unleashed.

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 02 November 2005 - 09:31 AM in Refinements

Thanks for all the support and the positive comments! ;)

#225626 Armor Revisions

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 16 October 2005 - 01:00 PM in Refinements

There is left only some quick fixes and the readme to complete. However, readmes are usually Littiz's doing, and ATM he is saturated with RL work.

The same here - but I fullheartedly hope that once it comes out, you'll enjoy it as much as I will :) .

#223856 what you expect to se in the third game?

Absolutely, Grunker. :)

I can as well make it so that out of combat your movement speed is at least 10 (bg2's standard), if there is enough protest for this

Well, I suppose it goes without saying that I'd welcome this. I think it would give the best of both worlds (realism and convenience).

As I said before, I don't support this idea - nostly because it never made the game annoying in my playtests (not when compared to the already present "Boots-of-Speed-problem").
Yet, if there will be a serious need for such a modification to the system, I can live with it.

My point is that right now the only working version of the Movement Modifier is on my computer (TGM and Littiz have a beta build, but that specific part doesn't work correctly), so we're more or less doing theoretical debates on how annoying that part may be, without being able to justify our claims

A year ago or so, when I was testing the prototype of this armor system on my computer, the differences in walking speed seemed reasonable, and never annoying. At least not more annoying than the issue with characters at normal and "boots of speed" walking pace, as it was already mentioned above.

#222342 Progress report

Oh my, what would you call me then, if Littiz is the hopeless optimistic..?

#221638 Revised Celestials

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 12 September 2005 - 05:02 AM in Refinements

I'm too lazy to check the files one by one, we'll wait for TGM to return and ask him, maybe he has still a list

Yeah, I have one around somewhere, though I don't have the time to dig for it right now. If I come to find it, I'll post it here.

no bad stuff for good?  atleast a 5% chance for something bad would have been appropriate.

Why? I don't see why good aligned gods should punish their high level and faithful servants...

#221178 Armor Revisions

The other problem being the fact that if the armor is given DEX requirement to avoid the death of characters starting with very low dex value (which we should do), the armor itself can become red *after* being worn, in some cases (eg: armor requires 4 dex, applies a 3 dex penalty, a character with 6 dex wears it, dex goes to 3, armor becomes red despite being worn).
This problem is just a cosmetical one, and though I am usually concerned even with cosmetical issues, in this case I'd say it's not something to be worried about: you can see it as a marker for the player, reminding him that the character is "sacrificing" almost all the dexterity he has available, and that the armor is being very heavy for him. All in all, it happens for characters who don't have at least twice the dexterity requirement minus 1 (unless I'm mistaken), so the case gets a special notice

I completely agree with you Littiz. Just my words up there. ;)

I'm just getting tempted to do that...

#221176 Creature Animations

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 07 September 2005 - 01:53 AM in IE Help

If you wanted to use the Shadow Thief anim for your main character, you can use Shadowkeeper to edit your .chr or savegame

Note that this animation will CTD your game at some points where you equip weapons (I do not remember which ones though).

#221175 Thieves

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 07 September 2005 - 01:51 AM in IE Mod Ideas

Is not Valen a thief at least in some part?

Indeed, a Fighter-Thief multi.

And as for Silver Star, it would be untrue to simply say she's a crazy evil thief. Her character has (and will have, if we ever manage to put the final parts in shape) a lot more intriguing aspects besides that. ;)

Yeh, I guess so. ^_^

#220973 Bug reports for v2.01

Note: I'm guest posting since I'm keeping my 1000th post for the download link of V3

#220972 SoE: Chapter 2 Question

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 04 September 2005 - 11:13 PM in NWN Series

Instead of SoE, you meant SoU, right? In this case, no, that Skeleton warrior is merely a reference to the story of the Witch's Wake expansion pack.

#218747 where is the power?

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 14 August 2005 - 04:57 AM in Refinements

Oh, its ok then.

#218496 where is the power?

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 11 August 2005 - 01:33 AM in Refinements

They [assassins] keep em if they go fighter.
Must NOT happen. They should lose the abilities even here.
But, this is *NOT* caused by Refinements.

You mean those abilities aren't reactivated after the assassin kit becomes active again? As I know, all innates of the old class/kit should reappear as useablele once the character surpasses the old class' experience with the new dualed one.

What did you expect? ;)

#218288 Cut parts

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 08 August 2005 - 10:41 PM in KotOR Series

You're right, but when that project will ever get finished, is another mistery.

Nope, nothing new.

#218216 IWD 1 vs IWD2

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 08 August 2005 - 04:29 AM in Icewind Dale Series

No, the fact you cannot see the endings doesn't make me happy at all - OTOH, the other fact, that a cheat failed to work does. Even if it means overcoming a problematic/buggy point in a game, cheats just make me upset. ^_^

#217825 IWD 1 vs IWD2

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 03 August 2005 - 11:02 PM in Icewind Dale Series

I was frustrated to the point of cheating. The kill cheat did not work.

I'm happy to hear this. I hate cheats. <_<

#217541 question re: Refinements-style polymorphs

Lets just wait for Littiz, he'll be the one with the right answers this time. ^_^

#217450 D&D Online

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 01 August 2005 - 03:48 AM in Delusions of the Mind

To be honest, there are a few points where I fear this game won't live up to my expectations. These are:

- no complete freedom and explorable outdoor areas like in WoW;
- completely instanced quests (no travels to destinations);
- no multiple towns;
- no PvP;
- no crafting/economy.

I'm almost 100% sure that I'll give it a try once it comes out, but I have doubts about it when I think about all these "flaws".

#217446 D&D Online

Posted by T.G.Maestro on 01 August 2005 - 02:28 AM in Delusions of the Mind

Yikes! If this is how much I'd have to pay monthly just to play this game, I'd rather go back to pnp.

Thats the best choice, I admit.

I could live with paying 50 bucks a year, but even then, it better be one hell of a game.

For example, WoW is one hell of a game - IMO.
