#602389 Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness : IE inspired Game

And now a day later it needs less than $5,000. So it made over $3,500 in the past day. It will probably make its funding goal in the next two days, with 19 days remaining to raise funds for stretch goals.

Don't think they will gather needed sum. It's only 23 days, and 11 000 $ are required.
It will be great if game is out instead of non-completing aim.

A day later, they only need $8,500 which suggests they made $2,500 in the past day alone.

It is 86% funded with 22 days to get the remaining 14%.

I've seen games get 30-40% of their funding total in the final 48 hours because of the Kickstarter "remind me" feature that emails you when the project is in the final 48 hours.

Somebody here had the same problem
https://forums.beamd...#Comment_973783

Thanks for the link, but it looks like they were installing directly in their Steam folder. I'm installing in D:\BWS\ so there should be nothing preventing it from writing to that folder. But I'll check permissions and everything again when I get home.
You might want to move onto the EE Game blah blah... wrongly named tool ...

I'll give that a try since BWS is not working for me currently.

Main changes for BWS are implemented, if something suddenly doesn't work please post feedback.

Is it safe to try/test a new BWS/EET install yet? The last one I tried was hosed with Imoen's dialogue. I want to try again, but leaving out a mod or two until I can find the one borking my install with some sort of conflict.

Nope, it is still broken.

My last install was borked with all kinds of random dialogue was inserted into Imoen's dialogue. I want to try a new install to fix it. But I don't know when BWS is going to be usable again.

#601743 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by enderandrew on 15 April 2018 - 04:32 PM in Mega Mod Help

some reporting from my BWS megamod install: i've got inventory stutter problem only when Sandrah is in my party, and that is not fun at all, cause i did want to try this new mod.

Weidu.log - http://textuploader.com/duvit

video - https://streamable.com/tw56a

p.s. yep, not biffing installation helped with wrong spell names problem

This lag (it is not stuttering, there are no scripts involved here) has been noticed by users with or without Sandrah. There is an official report at bean dogs about it, It is an issue of the game inventory handling itself.

Anyway, it appears that with Sandrah and or some other specific party members it happens more often than without them.

It is nothing that can be solved by BWS or the Sandrah mod. It may be improved by patch 2.5 of the game, but I have no information about that yet. It only affects inventory screen handling when you select items and the game does its checking to highlight the party members who can use it. It does not slow the normal play.

There are scripts looking for an item by looking in every potential inventory spot of every character constantly, which can be a pain.

The reason it may be better when you drop Sandrah is that you have one fewer party member. Try adding her back in and dropping someone else instead.

But my understanding is that the lag is worse when you have bags to increase inventory item spaces, and more party members to increase more inventory item spaces.

If I upload full logs, is there any way to try and figure out where it broke to try and isolate the conflict?

Which conflict?

If the mods work fine individually, there is some conflict of installing them together which caused this behavior.

You can use change-log to see which mods add to Imoen2J.dlg. It will be many, but you will be able to see which one does the *bad changes*.

Am I supposed to just run "weidu --change-log imoen2j.dlg" or something else? Here is the output from that.

https://pastebin.com/kS3qTR0N

If I search across all my logs, here are all the references to imoen2j.dlg

https://pastebin.com/dJrX4EsP

I'm going to compare all the mods that Weidu said should have impacted imoen2j.dlg versus what I'm seeing in the logs.

Edit:

These 4 logs mention imoen2j.dlg even though Weidu change-log doesn't list them as affecting imoen2j.dlg

SETUP-A7-CHAOSSORCERER.DEBUG
SETUP-D0QUESTPACK.DEBUG
SETUP-EDWINROMANCE.DEBUG
SETUP-Keto.debug

But I don't think that is the issue. When this mod is done running, I have 2929 states in the file.

SETUP-SANDRAHNPC.DEBUG 38046 [IMOEN2J.DLG] saved 2929 states, 5344 trans, 121 strig, 1409 ttrig, 502 actions

But EET-End picks up the file and then it grows to nearly 7000 states.

SETUP-EET_END.DEBUG 1501 Preparing IMOEN2J.dlg source file (2929 states starting from 0)
SETUP-EET_END.DEBUG 1517 [IMOEN2J.DLG] saved 2929 states, 5344 trans, 121 strig, 1409 ttrig, 502 actions
SETUP-EET_END.DEBUG 1523 Appending IMOENJ.dlg to IMOEN2J.dlg (101 appended states starting from 2929)
SETUP-EET_END.DEBUG 1531 [IMOEN2J.DLG] saved 3030 states, 5484 trans, 133 strig, 1414 ttrig, 524 actions
SETUP-EET_END.DEBUG 1720 Appending IMOEN25J.dlg to IMOEN2J.dlg (3140 appended states starting from 3030)
SETUP-EET_END.DEBUG 1748 [IMOEN2J.DLG] saved 6170 states, 12640 trans, 307 strig, 3972 ttrig, 1264 actions

regarding 1)
Look at AjantisJ.dlg in Near Infinity. Search for a state that contains
~During the Time of Troubles, Helm did nothing but his duty, my lady.~
Check which response options you see and what their StrRef's are.
Do you have other weird text issues? It may be that some StrRef's are scrambled in your install.
I haven't noticed other text issues yet, but I do wonder if StrRefs on the whole are hosed if Imoen is throwing out text from an Ajantis mod. These are results from AJANTJ.DLG

State 340:
During the Time of Troubles, Helm did nothing but his duty, my lady. #290317

R2. Still I hav a different opinion. #290319
R3. I know, Ajantis. I worship Helm as you do, but it's always wise to look at history with an open and critical mind. #290320
R4. Your babbling about Helm is tiresome! I won't listen any more. #290321

I assume that is all correct. But the phrase also pops up in IMOEN2J.DLG for some reason.

I'm curious what mods may have written to the IMOEN2J.DLG file in my install.

#601612 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by enderandrew on 08 April 2018 - 10:13 PM in Mega Mod Help

I found a recent example. I'm in Beregost. I just met Garrick who took me to meet Silke and Imoen chimes in with:

"Your babbling about Helm is tiresome! I won't listen anymore."

Except no one was talking about Helm.

The other thing is that early in Candledeep I got a prompt in conversation with her asking if I wanted her to be a Mage, a Thief or both. I said just Thief. But her class is Thief/Mage, except she can't memorize any spells.

Posted by enderandrew on 08 April 2018 - 01:32 PM in Mega Mod Help

- Do you have an example for the Imoen issue? I am not sure that it is caused by *Chatty Imoen*, because the mod works with sound files rather than adding *conventional* dialogue to Imoen:
I'll try to get a more specific example next time it appears she is saying the wrong thing. There are no doubt a lot of mods that touch her dialogue so I'm not sure where the conflict is coming from.

#601591 Breagar NPC mod from Ascalon

Posted by enderandrew on 07 April 2018 - 07:30 PM in IE Modding Discussion

I installed this along with most every mod available in BWS all at once. I saw Breagar in Candledeep who gave me a brief fetch quest. His dialogue is in English in my English install, but the quest and journal entry was in German.

#601590 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by enderandrew on 07 April 2018 - 07:28 PM in Mega Mod Help

If another mod really does provide the tweak, I dunno which one it'd be :)
I was never able to figure that out and always have that failure in a heavily modded install, even if I removed anything else that I thought touched Watcher's Keep.

BTW, I've played BG1 a few times but amazingly enough never played BG2. I started a BGT run a few years ago with a bunch of mods, but it became apparently near the end of BG1 that the install had a bunch of bugs.

I've been waiting to get it another go with an EET install to not only finally play BG2, but also the best community content. In my latest install of most everything under the sun, the only failure reported by BTS was still same Watcher's Keep tweak that was skipped. So I'm actually starting my play-through to test things out.

I ran into Braegar in Candlekeep. The NPC dialogue is in English, but the journal entries are in German. This may have nothing to do with BWS, as it appears to be a mod designed primarily in German to begin with and the English localization may have skipped over the journal entries.

I installed IEP, Chatty Imoen, Imoen Friendship, Imoen Romance, etc. I have no idea if I'm going to romance any NPCs but I installed most everything to expose potential conflicts. Imoen's dialogue is clearly hosed from the start. She is calling me Husband right after Gorion dies. She is commenting on Khalid and Jaheira's behavior before they ever join the party. When talking to NPCs, she is often interjecting with observations that seem to be out of place. I notice that Chatty Imoen is now red and I don't think it was before. I don't know if this can be fixed or if her dialogue is hosed in this playthrough.

As I play, I'll note anything that appears to be broken to help narrow down potential mod conflicts.

#601501 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by enderandrew on 04 April 2018 - 07:27 AM in Mega Mod Help

Also before I forget, IsraNPC got an update and BWS has an issue with archive extraction.
I noticed the same thing yesterday. I manually extracted it and then a crossmod component with IsraNPC and another failed. I just stopped the install, wiped and intend to try another install without IsraNPC in it.

It looks like -Trevalin- ran into the same issues.
I'm a long-time BG player getting drawn back in for yet another playthrough, and I'm trying to use BWS for the first time to help get me through the complicated mod install process. I've run into several errors, including issues with SCS installing (skipped installs with some regret), crossmod banters between Gavin/Isra and Valerie/Isra (skipped installs since I don't plan on using those npc's this time) and a parsing error with Garrick: Tales of a Troubadour (skipped install since he won't be in my party long this time through).

I am now stuck on this parsing error, and finally decided to ask for help:

ERROR: No translation provided for @438
ERROR: parsing [tb#_compile_eval_buffer/bg1re/necromancer/Dialogues/necromancer.d]: Not_found
ERROR: compiling [bg1re/necromancer/Dialogues/necromancer.d]!
ERROR: Not_found
Necromancer's Trouble, by jastey (WARNING - refer to the readme!) (Baldur's Gate Romantic Encounters) was not installed due to errors.

Should I be getting this many issues with popular mods? Am I better served going back to just trying to manually install mods the way that I used to? Any idea what might be causing this particular error?

Thanks for any assistance. I took today off to play some BG, and I'm hoping to get this sorted. :)
With SCS were you getting out of memory errors?

The Isra errors seem to because of an update that was just pushed to the Isra NPC mod.

#601447 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by enderandrew on 02 April 2018 - 09:30 PM in Mega Mod Help

Subtledoctor (for M%G) and myself already pointed out several times that the issue is in deed related but not in the way that our mods have a compatibility problem but because both mods choke on something done by an earlier mod to files we need later on. Leaving M&G out therefore does not help since it is not the source of the problem.

I suspect this is the case, but I'm not sure how to identify the culprit that left the file in a bad state.

Posted by enderandrew on 02 April 2018 - 05:54 PM in Mega Mod Help

This is (one of) the dialogue file the joinable Tenya would use, not the original Tenya that is always in the game.

It is in my override folder. It looks like SETUP-EEE copied the file there and I can't see any other reference to the tenyj.dlg file in any mod I'm installing.

I have a complete install now that I removed that one snippet. I ran into one more small failure.
