I want a public opinion here, should Khadion be a Swashbuckler or a Bravo?

Another alternative is to let the player choose which one at install.

What do you all think?

Personally, I'd vote for the Swashbuckler, but allowing the player to choose during install is the best choice IMO.

Both selectable. Definetely not only Swashbuckler, because some players could have tried this kit already and they could want something new.

Which one should be default, then?

I voted for both, selectable at install. Make the bravo the default.

As I said, my vote goes for the Swashbuckler as a default option. I think it is always a good thing that a character uses an existing class/kit. While it can be nice for a few NPCs to have unique kits, it easily gets annoying and seemingly redundant when too many of them are made this way.

I would say Bravo as default and have it optional during the install to make him a Swashbuckler. I feel that the Bravo would help fit Khadion into his story more seamlessly(amongst other reasons)
Magus: "If history is to change, let it change! If their world is to be destroyed, so be it! If my fate is to be destroyed... I must simply laugh!!"

Vash: "Normally when you buy an old, used bike, you're supposed to repair it before riding it!"
Wolfwood: "Are you dissing my beautiful shiny Angelina II?!?"
Vash: "I'm dissing YOU, not your stupid broken bike!"

It's all happening here

I also say that Khadion should be a Bravo. It fits his character. However, those who don't wish to play him as a Bravo should be able to select Swashbuckler on the install. :)

Through lightning, travel shadow,
Through hell and all above,
Surviving sword and arrow,
Bound stronger by the love

Silent through the sorrow,
Where innocents lie slain

Intresting to see the people who've read his background suggesting to make him Bravo as default. ;)

Just include Swashbuckler and Bravo choices in the install and all are happy.

To avoid definitively messing your install, on the other hand, the swash should be the default, to avoid spamming kit.ids & similar stuff with your custom kit, even if I don't use it.
Kits are 1 bytes fields in the creatures (255 possible ones). BG2 - TOB, BP-BGT-NEJ, Refinements, and [I]nstall all procedures for Ashes of Embers, Cleric Remix, Warrior kit Pack, Tactics, and you have only a few more kits slots available (I think...)

If possible, send diffs, translations and other contributions using Git.

This shouldn't be a problem, as the player cannot select the Bravo kit.

I think the Bravo kit is fairly important to Khadion as an NPC, but some people are bound to disagree, so it should be optional.

I... don't follow that. Would you mind specifying what you mean?

As for default-kit, I think we'll have subcomponents, and the player can simply choose one of the two.

Ehh? Come again?

@SConrad Erm... I think that they imply that the Bravo kit cracks their games and makes deposits from their bank accounts... yeah, I think that's what they meant.

Ah ok, this solves problems in an efficient way :)
my objection was that, if you install the bravo kit as a default, and then decide to use him as a Swash instead, there is a kit listed in kit.ids, that won't ever be used. And, since there is a limited number of kit slots available (1 byte, or 256), you shouldn't add a kit unless you are going to actually use it. Maybe your kit will prevent another one (say, the ones you use for Use Scrolls) to work properly, since it will be #0x100 or greater, and thus won't be saved correctly (kits may be saved in only 1 byte).

Ah, now I see.

Well, if we would have Bravo as default, I guess I'll make sure it's uninstalled if the player chooses Swashbuckler instead. tp2-coding is really fun. ;)

No. The Bravo is a very specific kit, to suit Khadion's personality and background.
