We try to get Kiara-Zaiya with Saerileth compatible, but we are not experienced enough for that. Perhaps somebody can help us?!?

In our BiG World Project guide we have the following wrote to Kiara-Zaiya:

This Mod is not compatible with Saerileth, because it deactivates the Watcher's Keep of ToB.
(This happens relating to a later appearing component. The present versions are according to reports
compatible with one exception: if Saerileth was kidnapped by Bodhi, you can reach
Watcher's Keep only by CLUA and you cannot reach Watcher's Keep from SoA.)

Knows somebody, if one install the SCSII component [Make Watchers' Keep accessible between SoA and ToB] the incompatability problem still occurs?

Which of the components of Kiara-Zaiya could make the incompatibility with Saerileth?

Install Component [Kiara-Zaiya Version 1.6 for BGII:SOA]?
Install Component [Custom Kiara-Zaiya soundset (available separately)]?
Install Component [Alternate High level abilities by TG Maestro]?
(This component changes the monk HLA tables)
Install Component [Original Amaralis battles]?
Install Component [Tougher Kiara Vampire]?
Install Component [Revised Suldalanessar]?
Install Component [Jao and party for SOA: another tough fight]?
Install Component [Tougher Irenicus at the tree of life]?

Need more details:
  • Why are you unable to go to Watcher's Keep? Did it vanish from the worldmap or what is the problem here?
  • Is it only inaccessable during the time Saerileth is kidnapped or also after she returned to the party?

The Kiara-Zaiya tp2 makes WK unreachable with regard to a never released future feature.
As far I know both mods are compatible with these exceptions: when Saerileth is abducted by Bodhi one has to warp to WK via console and you can't visit WK in SoA.

Well, I did a quick test-install of Kiara-Zaiya and didn't found Watcher's Keep inaccessable. (CLUAed from Irenicus dungeon to the city gates and then traveled to WK.)
I also skimmed quickly over the tp2 and did not find any reference to worldmap changes (which would be necessary to hide WK).
So it may be in the readme, but I think Watcher's Keep is not hidden in the SoA part of the game. (I used the version from the BWP linklist.)

You could simply comment out the line in the TP2 that disables the WK.

Have you tested the following, too?

Because the Watcher's Keep inaccessable happens if Saerileth is abducted by Bodhi.

I don't think that's quite true. Kiara-Zaiya is supposed to hide WK right from the start of SoA. (At least the readme states this.)
Since it isn't hidden at all, I guess there is no problem with Saerileth.

There's actually a script command pair, something like HideArea and RevealArea (check the IESDP for the real function names), that make an area appear on the world map and enable/disable traveling to that area. I'm sure KZ appends a HideArea(ARwhateverwatcherskeepis) to some script or other.

To test it, you have to install both Kiara-Zaiya and Saerileth, since the issue occurs only then, as far as I understood.

The hiding of WK is only related to Kiara-Zaiya.

Yep, {Hide,Reveal}AreaOnMap, thanks. I did a check for them as well, but I forgot, that KZ actually ships with compiled scripts, so I should have searched for the actual action id. Found something in Kiara-Zaiya/Scripts/Kiara.bcs.
The hiding only occurs after chapter 1. (That's why it wasn't inaccessible for me.)
Overwrite Kiara-Zaiya/Scripts/Kiara.bcs with the attached one and the issue should be gone. (after re-installation)
(I can do an alternative tp2 fix, but I guess this is easier.)

Thank you very much, Taimon. A long existing incompatibility should fixed, now.

The easiest way is, we put this file in the BWP fixpack and use it therefore.

Yeah just change that BCS to a BAF and replace the original for the fixes. Too, bad you already released BWP 5.2, but a small change log with a link or download for the BAF would be excellent to implement newest changes or deviations from the guide. ;) That way, when I finally install Saerilith for the first time using 5.2 instructions, I will remember this file.

Good idea, Hoppy. We will start this with the BWP v5.2. I'll start a new topic for that.

@ Taimon
Could you make us a BAF instead of a BCS, so we can use it for the BWP Fixpack?

Actually the files in KZ folder are some BCS and some BAF. The one in question is a BCS so that may be why both Taimon's and my BCS display very weird strings in regards to journal entries.

These "strings" (they are actually numbers, but your tool tries to look them up in the tlk) are placeholders, that are replaced upon installation. (Needed for translations and music.)

I'm not getting why you guys want a BAF, though.

There isn't a BAF in the KZ folder. The installation uses the BCS so we will have to just replace the BCS in this case.

In the DisplayStringHead bits in the BCS, there are weird texts so the numbers are incorrect in both your BCS and mine. Due to installation I guess or the mod uses existing string numbers instead of updating the dialog.tlk with its own. They are just journal entries but mine say Kachiko's dialogs form TS-BP. Hope that made a little more sense and I don't think it is super crucial, I hope

You are right, there are still some unreplaced strref markers after installation.
The numbers come from a different script (kiarfigt.bcs), the tp2 extends with the wrong script.
(That tp2 could certainly use a rewrite.)

I'm not so sure what the author really intended to do with these lines.
So I just changed the script path in both cases.
