Can you give me some examples?

those i listed, allison, npc tweak, the vault, wikaede revisited and sylmar battlefield.
these are all expert mods, yet show up in my "won't install" list with two others, unique containers ('cause of no link), and a mod that wasn't available in english.
the other expert mods are not listed in my "won't install" list.

Try this from the new "BiG World Installpack read me":

How to get the right BG1 directory entries
------------------------------------------
The preset BG1 directory is already preset with this line:
%IFES%BGT%S%BGT%L%0 --force-install 0 --args-list sp "C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate" | %M%
If you had installed BG1 at another place, the easiest way to change this is to copy your actual BG1 path and paste it into the install.bat and then to save the file.

unfortunately, i tried that, and it's not working.

i'm still running vista, UAC off.

Don't know if this helps, but... you'll need all these, when running on Vista.
1) When moding(installing mods into) the game, the UAC needs to be off.
2) Install the game to some other directory than the default Program Files directory. (or you can't remove the Read-only flag)
3) When the game is installed, patched and started one time(both games), and made a new game so it autosaves, to set the configurations and so on to have a clear save and other stuff... you need to turn off the Read-only function from the game directory options, one time, even though the flag stays on the directory options, it actually means nothing... (would at least be my guess.)

... just so you can edit the files in the directory, and that the changes you make, really stay. <_<
And not being overwriten back or made as a image files into other hidden directory, Macrohard WormdoorsTM editing prevention guarantee.

@ new(Mike)
You're right with the worldmap entries. The IF language is missing. The lines must begin with IFES and IFGS:

%IFES%BP-BGT-Worldmap.exe TYPE BP-BGT-Worldmap_input.txt | setup-BP-BGT-Worldmap%L%0%SK% 0 | %M%
%IFGS%BP-BGT-Worldmap.exe TYPE BP-BGT-Worldmap_input.txt | setup-BP-BGT-Worldmap%L%1%SK% 0 | %M%
If you have problems with installing the worldmap now, do it manually with the last missing mods. Look for advices in the install.bat. That would be the easiest way.

i delete '%IFS%BP-BGT-Worldmap.exe TYPE BP-BGT-Worldmap_input.txt | setup-BP-BGT-Worldmap%L%1%SK% 0 | %M%'. this tiome it's ok and not error messages in the 'BiG World Debug' file.

thank every who make BWP come true

thank Leomar very much, you are so kind.

Hi again,

After playing Baldur's Gate some more I've encountered another bug... After completing the 4th Riddle for the Warder of Love in the Labyrinth Level 1 of Durlag's Tower, my game freezes up completely and I have to resort to CTRL-ALT-Deleting to quit the game. The game freezes just after the conversation ends and just before the Warder summons the other warders, basically, just before the fight begins. What mod could be causing this and how would I go about fixing or bypassing this bug?

Also, I realized that when I ask Thalantyr to make a Ring of Protection +2 for me, he just creates a Gold Ring instead.

I've attached my Weidu log, thanks in advance.

The Thalantyr problem is a known "bug". The mod Unique Artifacts is unfortunately a bit overzealous in making some items unique.

Concerning Durlag's Tower, do you know how to use the console? Then you could try to spawn FEAR, AVARICE and PRIDE with the CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("") command.

question regarding the Drizzt Saga patch/fix:

I noticed the fix contains wm6_areas.tbl, wm6_links.tbl files. Does that mean this fix is for Worldmap v6.x? Does Worldmap v7 already have support for Drizzt Saga integrated into it? If so, the fix shouldn't be necessary, right?

Ah, I just realised we still need the Drizzt Saga WM v7 Patch and I suppose that's what this fix is for. Nevermind my question. :whistling:

Minor bug in NeJ/Animate.ids.patch:

line 170: "\ No newline at end of file"

Same problem also in NeJ/ANISND.IDS.patch (line 648). Perhaps a newline should be created at the end of the files.

I tentatively think that you can ignore these because patch is invoked with --ignore-whitespace.

/Edit:
And the Durlag's tower problem is probably related to SCS v9. Try looking for the M variants of the 4 CREs (LOVEM.CRE, PRIDEM.CRE, ...) in the backup of the component and copy them to the override.

I have a question regarding the way in which the BWP batch installer currently handles the "Shadow Thief Improvements" component of Rogue Rebalancing.

It's fairly well known that this component of RR is technically and conceptually incompatible with the Check the Bodies mod and that it will therefore be deliberately auto-skipped (directly from within RR) in case that mod is detected. However, I was wondering whether the BWP batch installer is currently configured to install the STI component in case the CtB mod is not present? If not, then it should be, as that component functions perfectly fine on its own.

Ok, so I managed to get past level 1 of Durlag's Labyrinth by Shadowkeeping in a Level 1 Exitstone since nothing else seemed to work, but now I'm encountering all sorts of errors on level 2. By picking up Islanne's runestone or picking up Kiel's Helmet, I cause some doors to open elsewhere on the map. However, the moment I do that, the game freezes up. So far only these two triggers cause errors, the two statues and both Fuernobel's and Kiel's runestones don't seem to freeze, other triggers I haven't bothered with. Durlag's tower is giving me all sorts of errors and I have no idea what the reason is.
Thanks in advance.

Could it be that you didn't install the v5512 patch to the BG1 game before you converted it with BGT to BGII? As that's definitely needed.

Excuse my bad english.
The bug in Durlags Tower comes from the SCS Component "Improved Durlags Tower".
You must reinstall it with the newest BWP Fixpack to get that work.
When you installed unique artifacts, the Ring of Protection +2 is unique, so Thalantyr can't build them.

Hi White Agnus, nice to see you here in the English forum. :D

(White Agnus is helping us much in the German forum and he fixes many things for the BWP. A man with hugh knowledge of BG and we're happy for his support. :) )

Because of this install.bat bug we have uploaded a corrected install.bat at 20th November.

Additional we released the BiG World Fixpack v6.0.5. In the first post you can read what's new in the new version. The main fixes of this new version are Taimons SCSI fixes. With this you can install the following recommended SCSI components again:

Install Component [Smarter Mages]
5032 3] Mages use BG1 spells only; mages pre-buff

Install Component [Smarter priests]
5042 3] Priests use BG1 spells only; priests pre-buff

Taimon has found out, that you can install the following SCSI component again, but only with the recent WeiDU v209:

Install Component [Potions for NPCs]
5022 3] Half the potions dropped by slain enemies break and are lost

If you want to include this components in the install.bat, add the component numbers in the following lines:
%IFES%scs%S%scs%L%0%SK% 3050 3070 4000 4010 4020 4030 4050 5000 5010 5022 5032 5042 5050 5060 5070 5080 5090 6000 6010 6020 6030 6040 6050 6060 6070 6080 6090 6100 6110 6120 6130 6140 6150 6160 6170 6180 6190 6200 --logapp | %M%
%IFGS%scs%S%scs%L%2%SK% 3050 3070 4000 4010 4020 4030 4050 5000 5010 5022 5032 5042 5050 5060 5070 5080 5090 6000 6010 6020 6030 6040 6050 6060 6070 6080 6090 6100 6110 6120 6130 6140 6150 6160 6170 6180 6190 6200 --logapp | %M%
If you want to use Taimons recent SCSv9 hotfix do the following things:
- Download the hotfix
- Extract the mod SCSv9 in the BG2 main directory
- Extract Taimon's hotfix in the BG2 main directory and overwrite the files
- Extract "BiG World Fixpack" in the BG2 main directory
- Delete in the "BiG World Fixpack" directory completely the scs folder

Unfortunately, if you don't want to install one of the following mods you must edited the install.bat, otherwise the installation will stops by "BG2 Tweak Pack":
- The Darkest Day
- Rogue Rebalancing
- Song and Silence
- Divine Remix

To avoid this you must add a S%BG2_Tweaks% before the L (language) in this lines:
%IFES%BG2_Tweaks%IFNIF%TDD%S%BG2_Tweaks%L%0%SK% 2250 2260 --logapp | %M%
%IFGS%BG2_Tweaks%IFNIF%TDD%S%BG2_Tweaks%L%3%SK% 2250 2260 --logapp | %M%
%IFES%BG2_Tweaks%IFNIF%TDD%IFNIF%RR%IFNIF%song_and_silence%S%BG2_Tweaks%L%0%SK% 2270 --logapp | %M%
%IFGS%BG2_Tweaks%IFNIF%TDD%IFNIF%RR%IFNIF%song_and_silence%S%BG2_Tweaks%L%3%SK% 2270 --logapp | %M%
%IFES%BG2_Tweaks%IFNIF%TDD%IFNIF%Divine_Remix%S%BG2_Tweaks%L%0%SK% 2280 2290 --logapp | %M%
%IFGS%BG2_Tweaks%IFNIF%TDD%IFNIF%Divine_Remix%S%BG2_Tweaks%L%3%SK% 2280 2290 --logapp | %M%
We will correct this with our next update.

Greetings Leomar

After the news now a answer for

@ aVENGER

I have a question regarding the way in which the BWP batch installer currently handles the "Shadow Thief Improvements" component of Rogue Rebalancing.

At the moment we don't install this component with our installer, but we will change it with our next release. That RR skips this component if it detects CtB is fine for that. Thanks for the information. :)

It took me a long time to finally install it.. and, well.. First of all, I can't run the game. Configuration is in French. How the hell did French language get there, I have no idea (my BG version is Polish). When trying to actually run the game, first it shows me a window with "-1" (the hell is that!?), and then "An Assertion failed in ChDimm.cpp at line number 834". So.. what's wrong with this? :x

you're not installing it through wine on a linux distro are you? i got the same error on my mint box.
back then i didn' t pursue and just tried it on vista (which failed, for unknown reasons), but a search yields this post:
http://www.shsforums...mp;#entry204159
this bioware page says the same
google results lead me to think that it indeed has something to do with the .ini files, check them to see if the dirs are right.

Sounds to me like the Installation folder was altered without changing the paths inside the baldur.ini...
Just a guess.

Does anyone know if using the 4 in 1 Buldur's Gate box set should create any problems? I think i saw in an other post that it may has minor problems due to slightly different storing of file folders than the storing of the CD's or something. But from a test install with a previous version of BWP (i think it was 5.5) i remember that the install went fine and i could start a game with the game running as usual. For testing reasons i walked my way through lions way and there were no problems. Well at least all SEEMED to be fine...
Btw, i applied the offical patches even if it wasn't needed (as maybe the 4 in 1 box set should include these patches). In short i followed strictly the BWP quick guide.

Yet another question. How does someone unistall the BWP (in order to install a newer version :D) ?
Should i just uninstall BG + BG2 and delete the other files in Black isle folder? (Operating system XP)
PS: I want to delete everything and start from zero. Installing BG+BG2 isn't a pain and i want to be sure i have a "clear" install with no leftovers from previous installs.

The easiest way is to throw the old install away to trash pin, clean it and copy the backup BGII:SoA+ToB to the folder the BWP was. There is also this topic...

Or you can uninstall the BGII:ToB(it should uninstall the BGII:SoA too), and then clean the folder the BWP was and then install SoA+ToB+patch etc.
PS, if you don't have a clean backup, and you already deleted the folder, no need to panic even thought the ToB doesn't install, this will help.

Should i just uninstall BG

Hmm, why would you uninstall BG+TotSC, as the BGT doesn't change any of their file(nor BWP), so the uninstall is unneeded!

thanks Jarno! I like the easiest way! I'll delete everything into trash and start an install from the zero. Btw, i didn't knew that BG uninstall was unneeded! That's fine! :D If only i was sure about the 4 in 1 box set... That's my only concern for now...
