i searched the forum for some info but coudn't find anything, so here goes.

i was told earlier that if i have installed bg2fix after the darkest day 1.12 + worldmap i could have some troubles.

so it officially happened, when i click on tethyr forest location, the game loads, and then im kicked to windows with a black screen that was baldurs gate = not responding.

so if someone could tell me what would be the best thing to do? reinstall everything in the right order then copypaste the save folder back or?

when i type "MoveToArea("AR2600")" in the console, nothing happens, and i get a "lua: call expression not a function" message

and when i type CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR2600") nothing happens at all

Did you type that in to the console? (while you have all the party members selected, and then unpause the game...)

btw are there lists of area codes on this site already, if i have problems like this again?

I bet there is, but here is one I remember the best.

Heya, I am able to reach this area ok normally or with clua, but there are several problems.

1)If I go to Forest of Tethyr during the daylight it always loads fine and once I have control of the party it then crashes every time. I can only check it out at night.

2)There are 2 corans. One talks about the ribald quest and says to meet him to save Safana. The other just says "go in there and save her" (where is "in there" - the cabin?). One coran has green armor and the other one is just in normal clothes(my coran from BGT). Whichever one sees the party first - then replies and then leaves, and the other one just sits there. Either one will do the talking.

3)After going to the werewolf camp there is nobody there- no safana, coran, werewolves, nothing. When I passed by the area before there were a couple of lizardmen and a crimson mist and nobody else.

4)Sometimes Sir John John (CTB) just croaks, what the hell? I wasn't even near that group.

So I can't finish corans quest or go there in daytime. What gives?

Heya, I am able to reach this area ok normally or with clua, but there are several problems...
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #0 // BG2 Fixpack - Core Fixes: BWP v6.1 Fix...

Yeah, but that's because you have the Fixpacks first component that fixes this problem when installed in the beginning and he didn't...

2) ... 3) ... (at least)

Could you open the game in NearInfinity and Export the 'source' code of the ar2600.bcs that's found in the BCS files... it's code writing, so you can also just write it down, and copy paste it to a message.

Since these have continue() after them they all might fire consecutively and they have same global checks with the level checks. Just some minor thoughts on the duped Corans.
EDIT: I reread your 2 Coran explanation and the one that should destroy self (original) is not being removed and the werewolf global is probably set so he says save her.

Are you using any other patches or anything that alter the Forest of Tethyr? Like the one I did long ago?

Is this Global already set in some save prior to Forest of Tethyr entry?
Global("WerewolfHostile","GLOBAL",1) if so set it to 0 or you will never see Safana.

Can you rest at all once you get to the area? The Company of Eight will rest too, but I do not know if that will make it crash when the day/night goes in effect.

Hi Hopp,

I did have Coran in the party in the BG1 part. Maybe some conflict with BGT?

Also used the BWP fixpack which I think had your Tethyr fix in there.

The werewolfhostile global is set to 1. Went back and checked some saves - it was set to that even before entering area for the first time, strange...

The party can rest only at night, if they rest until daylight it crashes. Or if I enter during daytime it crashes before can rest. Once I rested in the very top of the map and one of the group of 8 - the halfling was standing next to the party and it crashed. I thought they were in the bottom right next to the door/entrance.

Just wondering if Jaheira must be in the party, iirc she was needed to get the quest started. (She left to Harper hold)

As far as the fix I did, there were some problems in the original trials. I think 10th had some crashes when returning in later chapters which I could never reproduce. Also I have used the files over again in my installs and never had any crashes.

I will update a new one which attaches a script for Coran's quest. So he will say something at the new door.

The werewolf global set in BG1 but not sure where. I looked in my transition point save. This makes Safana never show up.

First can you try this new AR2600BAF I edited from your posted one? I made the Company of 8 text screen show on creation as those creatures rely on similar globals. Also it will remove the Fog of War in this as I just copy pasted from mine. You may want to backup your original BCS and copy pasted the new one in NI, but keep your original in case.

You can try this new Tethyr patch but you may want to backup all of your files for AR2600 and AR2602 just in case.
All of your ARE, MOS, BMP, WED,etc. files should be backed up in case you have to fall back and try a new one. This has the Coran script added to the new door.

Good Luck!

You will need to start from a different save before your auto save going to the Forest at least to see if it is the area files problem. The new script will not matter so try that from your auto.

EDIT: Tethyr Forest patch 3a has the Coran script at the new door. Thought I added it for the last one but no.

EDIT3: Attachment is still bugged, disregard it until I can fix it.

Great Hopp  , since everything is biffed can I just put the baf in the override? Or do I do some cutting and pasting with NI as you mentioned(not sure how to do that).

Same with the rar files - into the override yes?

Also something might be messed up with the old tis files for AR2600, it refused to save when I tried to make a backup. Waited a long time for it to export and nothing happened.

You need to compile the .baf file so it becomes a .bcs file, and then move that to your override folder.

@maximus2001

Yep Jarno's way can be done by copying the contents of your new BAF and pasting over all current contents in AR2600.BCS. You can do this easily in NI with copypasting from a text file (BAF) directly into your BCS opened in NI. Compile and save and that will test the BCS when you enter the area first time.

For the areas, if all of your original area files are in BIFF then you can safely add new files to the override and the game draws them. If things do not work then you can just delete the files in your override and the game will revert back to the DATA-BIFF files. I just suggest copying things manually and saving them for comparison if need be to see why one may work and the other does not. Especially with areas with all the associated files.

There are some more powerful versions of NI in the worldmap mod folders if you hadn't tried them yet. The folder contains some BATs to run NI with more memory. Very useful for extracting things without NI running out of fuel. That may help with the extracting of area files.

Ok, I tried to cut and paste into the open bcs in Near Infinity. I could cut but no keyboard short or drop down menu let me paste in in NI. So I used cntrl-z which brought up a baff converter. I dragged Hoppy's baff in there and it converted it to a bcs and put it in the override. It worked but I still wonder how to paste something in NI...

Your fix worked as follows:
1)Got the company of 8 intro when entered forest.
2)After resetting "werewolf hostile", 0 - coran (from Tortured souls) left like normal, quest finished, and he joined up.
3)The "other Coran" (from BGT continuous npc) still had his "go inside and help her" dialogue. After werewolf quest finished he has nothing to say. So it looks like thats incompatible with TS (BGT coran was in party thru most of BG1). No prob though, just ShadowKeepered proficiencies and xp for the Coran in party.
4)Your new entrance worked fine, but iirc you said Coran says something before or after entering. He didn't. Quest finished ok though.
5)Still get a hanging black screen (and must cntrl alt del to close BG2) if entering forest in daylight, every time. Party appears in the north of map and after 5 seconds, crash. Did the whole map at night and it worked.
6)Company of 8 did their thing, talked with them and the leader introduced the halfling dude then the conversation stopped because he was mia. (did a detect alignment, says he is there but couldn't find him on the map)

So I got through it with your fix. Thanks Hopp  . Iirc the quest vs the dragon cult starts later right? So will try again and maybe clua the halfing - unless the dude is moving around the map or invisible...

Good for 1) and 2) and I remember a year ago wondering what was going on with Safana and Coran's normal thing. A lot of him joining depends on your answers right from the initial encounter.

Besides the werewolf global being set to 1 (in Bg1 somewhere) the rest of Coran's thing should be OK with no other imcompats with BGT or other BG1 related items. At the cave, try force talking him and see if that gets him to say "here it is". Even without that I think you can still finish the quest for Ribald about the treasures and have more banters with Coran later on.

Something tells me that crash is related to the Company of 8 dudes and that one halfling should follow your party around and giggle and run away. He displays some strings like he is spying on you. Eventually he should work his way back to the camp with the rest of them.

I think you said he just died before and that is highly unusual which lead me to believe it was the party resting which the Co8 will do as well.

I will look at Coran's business again about the werewolves and also that cave.

Game On!!

EDIT: I did forget to put the BCS for CORANCAV.BCS to the door. :wall: Me sorry

Patch is still bugged for Chapter 7 and getting to Suldanesselar. I have to redo everything instead of overwriting the hidden door. For now trash the patch and I have deleted it. PLease do not use it in the BWP and just CLUA to AR2602 for those that want the CtB, TS and Tashia multi compatibility.

I will try to do a new one when I can install just CTB and Tortured souls and make the area patch so other mods that add to AR2600 after will help make the area more stable.

Is it still the case that we should not use Tethyr_Forest_Patch_3a? I notice a newer version (though with version number not incremented) appeared here: http://www.shsforums...m...&showcat=72 and the patch appears to be part of the standard install for BWP (at mod number 04.04.01). Should I disable it?

It's kind of a confusing entry, as it states that it is also included in the BW fixpack, and installed automatically if it's needed, so I'm not sure why it has a seperate entry.
