@anthony: Please explain more detailed what you are doing.
English users don't need the textpack. It is not downloaded with the BWS and the installpack does not bother to search for it if you do English installations.

Hi Dabus, thanks for the reply. I'm doing an ordinary english install, when the actual installation starts it sudeenly comes to a halt, stating "can't locate the directory big world text pack make sure it resides in the current directory-push any key to continue

big world textpack is for a german install and yes is a small error in big world install.bat :

"%IFG% %IF% "BiG World Textpack" rmdir /s /q ".\BiG World Textpack\override\_optional" | %M%"

continue with no worry...

Hi,

I've done a tactics install of bwp 8 and some errors occured extracted from big world.debug:

1 - Dark Horizons mod
.............
ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'
Resource [_ulgoth.sto] not found in KEY file:
[./chitin.key]
Stopping installation because of error.

ERROR Installing [ "Dark Horizons" Mod (Requires Tales of the Sword Coast TuTu or BGT)], rolling back to previous state
Will uninstall 819 files for [SETUP-DARKHORIZONS.TP2] component 0.
Uninstalled 819 files for [SETUP-DARKHORIZONS.TP2] component 0.
ERROR: Failure("resource [_ulgoth.sto] not found for 'COPY'")
PLEASE email the file SETUP-DARKHORIZONS.DEBUG to "http://www.chosenofmystra.com"
Automatically Skipping [ "Dark Horizons" Mod (Requires Tales of the Sword Coast TuTu or BGT)] because of error.
Using Language [English]
[dialog.tlk] created, 117813 string entries

NOT INSTALLED DUE TO ERRORS "Dark Horizons" Mod (Requires Tales of the Sword Coast TuTu or BGT)
............
2 -Secret of Bonehill mod
............
ERROR: BIFF [D:\BGII - SoA\CD3\/DATA/AREA130B.BIF]: unable to extract-copy file 6
[AM1304N.WAV] --biff-get error: Failure("read 0 of 8 bytes from [D:\\BGII - SoA\\CD3\\/DATA/AREA130B.BIF]")
............

In weidu.log dark horizons doesn't appear and Bonehill is installed.
About Bonehill ..... could be a ruined install if it's missing that *.wav ?

Thank you

That seems to suggest that BGT didn't install properly :o Check the WeiDU.log for the BGT line and allay your fears

(this is the 3rd time BGT is causing problems, wonder if there's something fishy going on )

Cheers,

@neutrowave: A mere rmdir cannot create such an errormessage and pause the script -- if I'm not mistaken.
@anthony: Try the following:

Delete BiG World Textpack.bat. :D
Then start the BiG World Install.bat again.

When you look into the batch, there's a line
%IF% "Big World Smoothpack" move ".\Big World Smoothpack\_modify\*.*" "." | %M%
:: and later
%IFN% BWP_Textpack.installed CALL "BiG World Textpack.bat"

If you look in the Installpack-archive, you see there are all the batchfiles in BiG World Smoothpack\_modify.
These are moved and the batch is called later.
At least that's what I think.

If this does not solve your issue, can you copy the screen?

To do so:
-rightclick on the cmd-screen
-select to mark the text
-use your mouse to do so (screen-color is inverted)
-press enter
-paste the text into the forum).
THINK! - It's not illegal.

At my first try a simply notice of erros about Dark Horizons and couldn`t find it in WeiDU.log, then I abort installation and add "pause" after %IFNLS%DarkHorizons%S%DarkHorizons%L%0%SK% 0 | %M% , so error which mention eutrowave could be seen in my install window.

Any suggestions?

The Dark horizons problem seems to be a TuTu incompatibility. Afaik, _ulgoth.sto is the TuTu version of Ulgoth's beard (BGT uses just ulgoth.sto)

But, I've check the DH .tp2 for any mention of this, it has a line,

COPY_EXISTING ~%ulgoth%.sto~ ~override~

So no _'s or anything

Now the SoBH error is veeeerrry strange, unless EVERYONE's got the same file corrupted :o I dunno what's keeping WeiDU from copying that wav

Cheers,
Lol

EDIT: Found the DarkHorizon's li'l bastard

Look at the BGT.tpa in DarkHorizons\lib\

OUTER_SPRINT "ulgoth" "_ulgoth"

change that to:

OUTER_SPRINT "ulgoth" "ulgoth"

should be fixed :D

Ok, I've asked WhiteAgnus and he said that you need to edit DarkHorizons\lib\BGT.tpa.

Edit the line with _ulgoth so it looks like
OUTER_SPRINT "ulgoth" "ulgoth"

That should fix it.
Please report if the files does contain and _ulgoth or not.

Doh, too lame again. :D

Did you try to run the Config-Tool by hand?
Did you start the game with the BGMain.exe, not the Baldur.exe?

You can try to run the BiG World Clea-Up.bat to remove files that are not needed after your installation.

Thanks for this.

Been having a problem with the AI.

With my mages I've been putting their AI to cast offensive spells as soon as they see the enemy. I have the spells already loaded but all they do is rush and melee the enemy.

Is it a bug?

Hey, I have a slight problem; I ran the bws and had the same error as others regarding dark horizons, but I think the other things went fine. Now I want to run the game, but whenever I click the bgmain button, nothing happens. Anyone got a solution for this? (Using baldur.exe doesnt work either)

thanks in advance

You did not change the alias-section somewhere or moved the game-directory, did you?

Ok, now that White Agnus cofirmed that the xp bonuses (experienced by Darpaek and dreamer2007) were caused by the EnemyUpgrade mod, a quick fix:

Change in setup-enemyupgrade.tp2:

WRITE_SHORT 0x14 ("%exp%" + RANDOM(500 2000)) // EXP Boost
...
...
WRITE_SHORT 0x14 ("%exp%" + RANDOM(100 1000)) // EXP Boost
...
...
WRITE_SHORT 0x14 ("%exp%" + RANDOM(0 500)) // EXP Boost

to:

//WRITE_SHORT 0x14 ("%exp%" + RANDOM(500 2000)) // EXP Boost
...
...
//WRITE_SHORT 0x14 ("%exp%" + RANDOM(100 1000)) // EXP Boost
...
...
//WRITE_SHORT 0x14 ("%exp%" + RANDOM(0 500)) // EXP Boost

to not install the XP bonuses

PS: Can we expect a new Fixpack update soon??

(WOW!!! My patience truly PAID OFF!!! SpellRev can take it's own jolly time, i'm waiting for SCSv10 and RR's new version too now :D)

Cheers,
Lol

What's you OS?
Is there a errorlog in your directory?

@Lol: You will have to edit the batch yourself if you want them, I do not think Leonardo will make "major" updates in the near future. Little fixes were not released that ofter, though that may change if he thinks it's needed.
