I'm asking this because it seems that ordinary wolves in BG1 with a tactics install of BWP have between 35 and 45 HP but only give about 30XP. What I'm wondering is this a bug and also, which tactics mod makes most ordinary creatures in BG1 tougher and increases the size of encounters in the Nashkel mines? I guess what I'm finding is that it takes forever to find things to kill that can get my party up to second level. Also its a bit frusterating to be killing hundreds of kobolds but only getting 15xp for killing the champions. Finally, was there a change in BWP 8.0 that removed Rialto the Marvellous? I recall being warned that he was roaming around Candle Keep but I rested in the wilderness and he never appeared. Not that I mind he was kind of a pain!

Try basilisk hunting if things are too slow for you. I was level 4 before I even began the Nashkel mines quest.

BWP 8.0

The HP amount might vary a lot depending on the installation variants. Like for example was the Enemy upgrade installed without the XP enhancement...

Hmm well looking at my exported list of mods in BWS it seems that I accidentally installed a couple of expert mods (unless they were recenly recatagorized) including enemy upgrade, lightmaps, and Baulderdash. I'm going to reinstall BWP but will my save games likely be messed up after the installation? Thanks.

... and Baulderdash.

Speaking of which, it seems the newer version of Baldurdash (1.6.7) isn't compatible with the current BWP Fixpack 8.0.1 (which was made keeping in mind the older Baldurdash 1.6.6). A direct translation (via google :P) from the kerzenburg Linkliste thread:

With Baldurdash, we even guess that installing the new version of this mod could probably ruin your entire installation. For it to get back into compliance with the BWP, Leonardo must upgrade the BWP fixpack, and the BWP text pack.

So that's the reason it's become expert. Would it be possible to upload the older 1.6.6 version of baldurdash (the fully compatible one) somewhere until a new version of the Fixpack or sommin gets released??

Cheers,
Lol

Yeah, it's about 30. It can be rough.

Wait for the duergar fight in the Nashkel mines. That's two hours of my life I'll never get back. :P

Hmm I'm having a problem with reinstalling BWP with BWS. After doing a restore, and reinstall I get an error installing the dark horizons mod. Looking at the first error below it appears that there is no 'sto' directory and it should be stores. Is there a way to change this? Also since I have the 1.66 version of Baulderdash can I integrate it into the installation somehow? Thanks.

Thanks Lollorian I made the change. Now I just need to know whether there is a way to install Bdash 1.66 with BWS, or can I do it manually after the BWS installation? Also right now I've just paused the batch file, if I cancel it and run BWS again will it overwrite the darkhorizons .tp2 file I changed?

I eat the words I said before :P Baldurdash 1.6.6 is still available at the Black Wyrm's Lair with the old link (click to download)

@polybomber: The best thing to do at a time like this would be a complete reinstall. restore the backup from the BWS, let it extract everything, when the install.bat asks you to select a language, quit it by the X on the top-right. Now, extract the Baldurdash 1.6.6 (overwrite 1.6.7) and make those changes to Setup-DarkHorizons.tp2 again and run the BiG World Install.bat file in the folder ... PROFIT!!!

(and yes, running the BWS again WILL overwrite the changes to the tp2 if ya allow it to extract everything again ;))

Hmm, I haven't received my activation email from CoM yet, don't yahoo accounts work?? Could some existing member report this to the DH forums??

Cheers,
Lol

Thanks Lollorian for the info. So extracting Bdash is all I need to do to install it so that when I run the batch file again it will automatically try and install Bdash 1.66 even though BWS has 1.67 as the most recent version? Too bad about the not recieving activation yet... usually that's happens right away with most sites.

Yep :D The install.bat installs mods based on their Setup-*.exe names (which don't change even if the mod version changes) :coolthumb: The BWS checks for the mod versions so, it downloads the most recent version :P

EDIT: Erm ... the idiot in me added yahoo.com instead of yahoo.in <_< Account activated and problem reported to CoM (someone bring a gun, I need to shoot myself one or two times :whistling:)

Cheers,
