General

There are only two rules you need to follow. First, is that your entries must be relevant to each challenge topic. Lastly, if you have more than one chapter, please post a new thread for each chapter. If you would like to continue another author's story, please seek permission from the author and post it in a new thread as a new entry.

Entries Number

There are no limit on the number of entries you can submit for each challenge, in fact the more the merrier.

Entries Length

There are no limit on the length of each entries.

Entries Rating

PG13

Comments

Comments are most welcome, preferably directly in the entry topic itself.

Other

And by the way, folks, all of the rules that apply to Scribbles in the Wall in general also apply here in the Fanfiction challenge. So read them before you post if you're not familiar with them. Thanks all!

If we're allowed to comment on an entry, do we post a new thread as per the Scribbles on the Walls rules dicates, or in the story thread themselves as the quizzes are handled on the Attic?

It's not very clear about that, sorry. :/

One entry per topic, I believe. No limit on number of entries, even if its a chapter to an existing entry, it can be in a new topic. :)

That... doesn't answer my question at all. And makes very little sense.

So comment in the topic...

Thanks for clarifying the procedure, Kellen. That's what I wanted to know. :)

Is poetry allowed, or just prose?

If it fits the topic I don't see why not.

Hm, no original fiction, I suppose?

That's bad. I have this idea....
;/
'NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency! Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surpr-... I'll come in again.

NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!... Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms - Oh damn!'

At the moment, this is just a Fanfiction Challenge. If there is interest enough, perhaps we might consider starting up an original fiction challenge as well. In the meantime, you are still free to post your original fiction in the main fanfiction forum, just indicate it as such. There are quite a few others who write original fiction here as well, so don't feel restrained by the challenge! :)

Through lightning, travel shadow,
Through hell and all above,
Surviving sword and arrow,
Bound stronger by the love

And in the end a witness,
To where the death has lain,
Silent through the sorrow,
Where innocents lie slain

Hi.

I have questions!

I'd like to participate in the fanfic challenges, since I haven't done fanfic in a while and I'd like to get back into it. (I wrote several well-received BG fanfics a few years ago, but have been working on original stories since then.) So, seeing 19 posted challenges got me all excited. But... is there an "expiration date" for old challenges? Can I still post on Challenge 18? (Or 13? or 3?) Or is only the most recent available, since there's a new one each month?

Well, my interpretation of the rules is that; You can post a fanfiction for any challenge and you will not be frowned upon, but your submission won't be counted in here, nor linked into there... unless it's really good, and somebody busies themselves to actually make that topic reflect the current environment. :whistling:

Now this is just my own interpretation, as I have few unfinnished fictions on my computers .txt files...

Not sure how I missed this question. Terribly sorry for the delay.

Anyways, first off Welcome to SHS!

Second, to your question of expiration dates for challenges. We're glad that any of the challenges could give you inspiration; it's been a while since we had any new authors in fact. While we like to see entries for the current challenge, we certainly won't tell you not to write something for a previous challenge. If you'd like you can make yourself a thread in Scribbles specifically for the challenges you missed, or you can place your entries here and liven up the forum a little bit. I leave the decision up to you.

(Still got my fingers crossed that you come up with something for 19 though. ;) I love the little folk.)

I don't think I'll be participating in #19 for this month. Real-life is still hectic, so having the time to write fanfiction (as opposed to working on my Master's thesis or my in-process novel) is sometimes scarce. However, I'm definitely going to run through the earlier topics and make a list of what sounds most interesting to me. If/when I post something, I'll stick it on the appropriate challenge thread so that things look busy ;)
