hmm I can't seem to get it to work, I read the instructions and carried them out VERY Carefully and ACCORDINGLY

but once I cast the spell the don't say anything, it worked only once but it somehow gone mute again.

it might be because of the Race problem as my companions are Tabaxi, Ainmhi, Sephiroth, and Imperial.
the one time that it worked on was imperial.

but i can't be sure, A anonymous guest "Smith" had a similar problem that I did, he fixed but never told us how.

sorry if i'm breaking rules or something, but i'm desperate =(

Aha, finally some more specific information. Thou you could really post that in the official thread. Anyway:
As for the custom race companions: you should create an "Ainmhi" and/or "Tabaxi" folder in data\sound\Voice\cssCHARNAME.esp and then copy contents of any other race folder(e.g. Imperial) located in here(data\sound\Voice\cssCHARNAME.esp) and everything should be ok. Sephiroth uses Imperial sound files, so it should work just fine without any problems.
As for the imperial: didn't you try to cast the selecting spell on more than one companion? The spel will work only on the last one, as it deselects it's previous target upon selecting a new one.

Btw,please let me know if that solved the problem.

Good luck!

Faction has nothing to do with this, as there is no negative bonuses to disposition attached to it, it will not affect your companion behviour. Which one of them are cousing the havoc?

Hmm ,first you can try to 'turn off' the sound set by casting appropriate deselecting spell, and see what will happen. I assume you are using CM companions, right?

OK new problem Bruce, when i try your oblivion sound set for PC, all my power attack sounds are blocked out. I'm using Calisto for my PC, and I can hear the comments but not the attack and hit sounds.

I've left the power attack mute on purpose(note that I haven't removed, replaced nor modified original vanilla sounds). I did it because most sets doesn't have anything that would fit in this place, while leaving old power attack sounds in any case would sound weird. The hit sounds should be there though(I've added some new ones). What race is your PC?

Mystic Night Elf Race uses imperial voice by default, so it should work without any problems. The only situation that wouldn't work would be using a female sound set on a male PC and vice versa...

oops, sorry i forgot to add this, i changed the mystic elf sound to Ainmhi sounds thru CS, I worked before.

also, it appears that NOTHING is making the "sounds", like generic hit, power atk, or taking damage. so it might not be the mod that you made at all. I'm slow at noticing things so it might have happened before i installed this mod.

BUT PLZ REPLY IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY

I did a conflict check with OBMM, it seems that the PC (diag) seem to conflict with the following mods:
Record type: Dialog Topic (DIAL)
EDID: Hit
FormID: 000000DD

Overrides original entry in 'Oblivion.esm'
Overlaps with cssBase.esm, Mart's Monster Mod.esm, Francesco's Optional New Creatures Add-On.esm, Knights.esp, cssCalisto.esp, cssEdwin.esp, cssMazzy.esp, cssNalia.esp, cssRhett.esp, cssSafana.esp, cssSarevok.esp, cssJaheira.esp, cssCernd.esp, cssImoen.esp, cssIrenicus.esp, My Island Palace.esp and FCOM_Convergence.esp
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Record type: Dialog Topic (DIAL)

FormID: 000000E6

Overrides original entry in 'Oblivion.esm'
Overlaps with cssBase.esm and Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and it seems that cssbase conflict with these mods

Well, you'll get those conflicts in obmm, but that should not affect the gameplay. You can try to disable my mods to see wether they are cousing the problems or not.

Hmm, you are right, it seems that cssBase.esm is cousing that. I'll have to update Companion Sound Sets sooner than I've thought. Thanks for noticing that.
Oblivion Sound Sets are free of this bug since the last update(to version 1.9). I'll update Companion Sound Sets just after the Christmas, and tonight I'm to upload new version of Oblivion Sound Sets on TesNexus.

Merry Christmas Billy ;)

I just saw your update to this spectaculus piece of work.
However, I couldn't help to notice that nothing has changes in terms of that bug that I have stated before.
right now I only have Imoen, Safana (which I'm not using), and Nalia right now. I've isolated the problems to it seems that the MASTER AND THE ESP files are causing the problem.
but before you reply the answers regarding the problems above, have YOU experienced the problems that I have?
and if its not too much trouble could you explain to me the changes that you have done from the latest patch?

Sorry for the delay, just noticed your post.

I've tested several sound sets and the problem does not occur anymore. You should remember to update cssbase.esm along with the .esp file. The thing I changed is (amont other things) creating new combat tab entries(with appropriate conditions) instead of editing the original ones.

Any plans for converting this to Skyrim?
