Lord_Draconis. I live in the unrecognized Republic of Transnistria (PMR). Long ago decided to try his hand at modding. Started creating locations. I have accumulated a lot of resources and ideas about my fashion. I have pictures of locations, music, new avatars, objects. Today could get animation from the game Inquisitor. But I do not understand many issues and especially in programming. Here is an example Animations:

That's all very-very beautiful! (I don't have the slightest idea how it's coded or implemented), but it looks cool. Don't know about the copyright issues, though.

I'm not afraid of copyright. No I will not blame it for. I live almost in Russia. We are here for is not judged. Many people who engage modding, reveal game resources and use them for their own purposes :) I spread it out here in the hope that people will want to create a new global events that will expand the game. I can provide gaming. I want to mod started after the original game and the level of the characters and enemies were from 50 to 100 level. With so many new locations and new enemies, you can greatly extend the game.

Unfortunately, I do take copyright seriously. We have to, as IE Modding is already a legal grey area, and SHS is hosted in the US.

How can I get the copyrights to the example in the game Goldenland if the firm to publish them already dead?

Weeeelll... I think there're two options: either you respect the copyright and abandon your work(which sucks), or you you get hosting for your mod on another site and live with the consequences(which probably won't happen, but I'm no expert).

And screenshots certainly don't get you banned. :)

 

Wish we could get some legal recognition for modding/fair use, but I guess that ain't happening in the next few years.

@Kulyok: That'd be awesome. It's all on Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro as they're the rightsholders, but modding is a notoriously tricky legal space; the easiest way from a legal perspective (and as far as I'm aware, one of the most common ways) is just to make it so any mod created for the game in question is owned by the IP holder. It's a sucky way of doing it, and it's definitely not something we want to see happen here. I don't want my mods being owned by Wizards, personally. :P

I don't know how it works, and if copyright laws work over another region, but for example, there in italy if you do not sell the stuff or re-use it there is a little fine to pay, but 99.9% of the times you are not persecuted for it.

Copyright is one of those weird beasts that are based on the law of many different nation. For example, if I created a game there in Italy, and then someone in Usa would host it, which law would be applied?

If I die in England and my testament concerns Italian goods, which law of succession do you apply?

I've got some examples in my international law book, but they just say that there is no certain rule. Bah
