Nothing comes for free. This is life. I just want to warn people that 1pp mod introduces so many drastic changes in the hardcore files of the game, so no save games will work with other installations. Also, my bgmain, exe was so heavily modified, so I cannot use it with other installations. Crash, boom, bang and return to the desktop at the very first screen of the game - completely unusable now. I need to reinstall the whole game if I want to play without 1pp. It's like a virus in my multiple BG installation folders. I won't go in deep analysis, not sure I am able to do so, yet the amount of the files I have modified and created while modding on the 1pp installation is huge. Now, I need to revert back, reinstall the game without 1pp, make new copies of the BG folder, loose all saved games and recreate many previously modded files anew.

The 1PP readme warns that your bgmain.exe is changed...

A question comes to mind. Why can't you uninstall the 1PP and you would get your non 1PP game restored to you ? But make a backup of the game resources before you do so, to save your files.

Easy pie. Should you know, you could keep the override folders files(or the games data files if you utilize them in making of .bif -files) as a backup for the content you modified and thus save your modified files ... of course it's only the files that are not touched by the 1PP to use it's resources will be easy to restore. But were you to edit the files to not use the 1PP's resources for example with Near Infinity, you could use the files just created after uninstalling the 1PP by restoring them to the override folder. By just copying them to the override folder after you uninstall the 1PP. Of course bif-ed files will harder, as you need to export everyone of them, but that's what you get from biffing them.

OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Nothing helps. Of course, to uninstall was the first option. Believes me. 1) There is something wrong with the save games, but it should be so. Editing the saved games by removing items, creatures etc in NI doesn't help. 2) I have made some modifications on top of the game with 1pp. Now, I cannot find which item, cre, eff, spl were affected. Trying to go one by one. Pure backup - no problems, but most of the backups contain my mods. Anyway, I'm not complaining. It's just frustrating that such good mod cannot be painlessly used without affecting the game files in a drastic way.

Ok, I found the problem:

LCARMOR.SPL

It's got into several items upon installation of 1pp. I have no idea what it does, but it somehow affects the game from the very beginning. I mean if you have item saved with 1pp installed and then you want to use this item in the installation without 1pp, the game crashes the moment you press on button "NEW GAME" or chose to load the game. It's really strange, but this is so. I've checked it with several items where this spell has been added by 1pp, and they all crash the game from the very beginning. Can someone explain this to me how this spell is able to affect the core files of the game? It still not loading any area with cre and itm, but loading the screen with creating the game. I'm attaching one of the itm files to see this problem. Just drop it into the override to observe the crash. Then open it with NI and see this strange cast spell effect for yourself.

The LCARMOR.spl is the spell effect that changes the players avatar(it's one of these: Fighter, cleric, mage or thief) animations when ever they put an armor on, and which one it is, the spell makes it depend on the kind of armor, instead of the characters class that puts the armor on.
It's in every one of the armors(robes have their own lcrobes.spl)... and when you import a character that has an armor(equipped in teh save game) on that has the effect applied that doesn't exist, the game crashes.
This is unfortunate, and it's added to the .itm files by this component: "1ppv4: Smart Avatar & Armour Switching" ... or at least close to that named component.
You could try to remove the equipped armors from your save game. Yes, the game temporarily imports the characters with their equipment to the start of the BG2 SoA start before the game removes everyone of them, before Irenicus shows up. And thus causes the crash you experience.

This is of course assuming facts that you might have left out of the story.

Yes, the problem is solved by removing all these spells from the modified items. However, the saved games after removing these items from NPCs still crash. Anyway, I'll have to start a new game, so it's not relevant anymore. Thank you.
