In order to play all parts of CtB, do I *have* to install the big world map?
Just saw some refrences to this.
If the answer is yes, can I install it on top of all my mods and play? Or a new game and a new install is a must?(oh please no...)
Mod installed by order-
Bg2 fixpack
Bg2 tweaks
Dungeon be gone
CtB
SCS

Yes and no
There are components - Hlondeth and the additional Vampire quest, Kudin and Snowflake mountain - which add new areas to the worldmap. You can play the rest of the mod without issues.

Actually that's incorrect because none of the other mods actually modify the worldmap's placements, aka the reference where each of the maps are located in relation to the origo/origin ... so you don't need to install the (BP-BGT-)Worldmap mod to have access to the places as the only mod that does, CtB, installs it's worldmap component when it's installed. Well the "install" is what the mod does when it copy'es it's own Worldmap.wmp to the game directory and then patches the area names if needed.
But if you install this mod after you started a new game, well then you need to start a new game, aka you can't use the old savegames, as the file is saved into the savegame files.
Also usually it's encouraged to install the Tweaks mods after the story mods, aka this order:
Bg2 fixpack
CtB
Dungeon be gone
Bg2 tweaks
SCS
The last two mods can be installed in the order you wish... the result very slightly amongs themselves. Such as the creatures can end up with more spells(with the spell table tweaks) if you use this order, while only your characters get the more spells if you use the SCS -> BG2 Tweaks ...

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Thanks again for ultra quick replies.
I'm a little lost. Ultimatley, now as my game is, will I have the quests you mentioned(add. vampire quest, snowflake mountins, etc.) or not?

You will find the quests (e.g. Vampire after you finally defeated Bodhi) but you need the updated worldmap to reach them. You can use console MoveToArea each time to/from those areas if you do not like to start a new game.

If you want to use console you can find the area references in the CtB folder in your game directory CtB/worldmap/areas.tbl which you can read with any text editor.

There are different methods to enable console in classic game or EE versions - you will find tutorials for both easily on the net.

To enable console

a) If you have an EE game, eg BG2EE

The setting is not in your game folder but n a file called baldur.lua in your user/documents/Baldur's Gate II (or similar) - there you add a line

SetPrivateProfileString('Program Options','Debug Mode','1')

In game when opened the console you use

C:MoveToArea("ar1234")

b) If you have original BG2 then it is in the game folder baldur.ini, where you put

under [Program Options]

Cheats=1
Debug Mode=1

In game when opened the console you use

CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("ar1234")

Spoiler(maybe?)

Well, i killd bodhi.
I found that letter in her grave the updates my worldmap, but the letter does not state the name of the new area. I want to "movetoarea" as you said... So what is the name of the area I should move to on order to start the vernon quest?
Also, what trigers the hlodeth quests?
I just moved there and talked to everyone there but no quests...

In one of the central town areas on a road leading to north, right side of the road, has a sign.

There is a fix for brimstone.  I can't find the link but google ctb brimstone bridge fix.  It is a .bat file.  You just download it, put it in the bg2 folder and run it once.

Yeah that's the one.  Forgot about the notepad part, been playing this game so long I've started to forget stuff I once knew a lot about.  With a working install I don't tinker with the mods much unless there is new stuff too add.  I'm lazy. :D
