It only happens when personal space is changed to 0 and creatures can pass through each other. Occasionally they will get stuck inside or near, just pawing the ground. This can be a problem for monsters, who don't have the intelligence to click away once or twice, which gets PCs off the hook. What causes this? Not animations, because it happens even to creatures with avatars taken off.

I assume you're using 342? Do you overwrite the changed space value back to original? If yes, then stacked 342s are known to be buggy, clear it with 321 instead. If not, then I may not have understood the problem correctly.

342 it is. I do precede it with 321, though, on top of the effects. This was for the portcullis, and it has two spells for the open and closed states, with the visuals and personal space, and each cancels the other the first thing. Anyway, I've already made a little teleporting device to chuck stuck passers a short way off, but thanks for the suggestion.
