Is it measured from the middle of the creature's circle? Melee range is 4, but does that mean that no one can come as close as 2 or 1? Or 0? I've only been able to get a response for range 0 from a creature with no personal space (how pathetic that sounds), when others totally violated it and walked through it (harassing it mercilessly, I guess). This isn't an idle question: the creature is a portcullis. In the raised state it lets through anyone, but snags happen every so often. I wrote about that in another thread. Until there is a solution offered in the other place, I have to think of a workaround, and my best idea is to detect extremely close range, like 1 or 0, assuming that closeness is only achievable by getting inside someone else's circle. If I'm right, I can have the portcullis mark the pedesterian for a timer and teleport it away if it's still in the bowels a couple of seconds later.
