The first Jansen dialog is triggering when you speak to Jansen for the very first time, rather than after he has already joined the party.

Of, forgive me. I thought you wanted it like that. I think it makes bigger sense if the banter initiates when Jan sees Hubelpot, and not when he joins.

Your interpretation is fine; it just makes the end of the dialog look odd. I'll tweak it for Beta2.

Some more stuff...

In the initial Jan banter, Hubelpot says "Aye, ah suppose." - "Ah" should be capitalized

Same banter, Jan says "Aunt Petunia had hear..." which s.b. "heard"

At the end of it, it looks like this, all on one pane...
"Jan- Right, yes. So Grizella was working as a slightly used enchantment dealer...
1- Why not? What merchandise do you carry, good gnome?
2- Not at this time, gnome."
...which is what I think of as "Chloe-syndrome" - the new dialogue appears along with the standard responses for CHARNAME. Being able to hit Continue, then seeing the standard choices is less confusing, although I gather from the above posts that you'd planned this as a separate banter, rather than during the initial Jan meeting, which would explain it (although it fits well as is).

In the Viconia banter where Hubelpot goes all-out dialect on her, Drow is sometimes capitalized but sometimes not.

In the 2nd Cernd banter, it reads "and I'd think of all'ya good thing that'll grow even better." which should be... um... I'm not really sure... :)

Hubelpot never gets HLA's - not sure if that was intentional or not.

I'm about to see how Bodhi likes being confronted by the most powerful vegetable merchant in Amn, then on to Irenicus... :)

This has been brought up before, it was I who didn't follow orders and did as I liked (muahahaha!! *evil grin*).

Bob's re-writing it.

Intresting. Which kit?

This isn't intentional.

I've only just started with Hubelpot. (Modding eats up my playing time! <_< ) I have noticed a couple of times where Hubelpot will say something like "Thanks good sir" or whatever--to my FEMALE PC. This happens more than once.

Anyway, I love the mod so far!   :turnip2:

Sillara

P.S. And I now officially love InfExp. Thanks, SConrad! :turnip:

The "Sir" problem is caused by mixing up <LADYLORD> and <LORDLADY>. We'll work on it.

Very happy to hear you are enjoying the mod. :)

Village Druid doesn't get HLA's. As an experiment, I tried a separate install &, with the help of the CLUAConsole, levelled him up as a Totemic Druid & he did get HLA's.

Lieutenant Aegisfield

When talking to the Lieutenant after the Tanner quest, the dialogue appears a second time before Aegisfield escapes the area. It was surprising since I wanted to interrogate him about the gang that's supposed to be hiding in the Bridge District, but other than that my party got the money, reputation and XP for solving the Tanner quest twice, no harm was done.

Thanks. Either it will be fixed, or we will drop that leg of the path to Dracandros.

I will be doing similar work as SConrad later on Yikari, so:

Why do you dislike GLOBALS? Is there a good reason or is it just personal preference?

I never checked that dialogue myself. A very nasty bit of coding. *Shrudders*

Children, don't do that at home!

I don't dislike global's. Just in the banter-file, where it's unnecessary. The reason? If I start setting global's on every banter to the left and the right, there will eventually be a lot of globals.

Open a savegame in SK and look at all the global's there. I don't want to add 20 additional if I can help it.

In other cases, they're necessary. Then, I love 'em. But I only use globals if I can't use locals.

... but LOCALS in a banter file is sufficient, yes?

ActionOverride can be used if necessary to make sure the NPC's LOCALS correspond with banters already had.

Yes, locals are sufficient.

ActionOverride isn't necessary...

I know what the problem is, and I will solve without using globals. In theory, I've already done that.

I just found one of Hub's top-level texts for an Edwin banter lurking in BEDWIN.dlg. Surely some mistake?

It reads "Ah once bought a single pouch of them yellow Thayan peppercorns, m'lady, and Ah must say Ah have never figured out how to spice a dish with it. Take that time my old lady put it into the stew, and Ah told her that she should hae waited till the very last moment. All of us burned our tongues raw, I swear t'ye. So on next occasion Morag. . . "

Took down Melissan with Hubelpot along for the ride, but the ToB stuff doesn't seem to work very well. Here's the stuff I found...

- in the Irenicus taunt at the end of SoA, Hubelpot says "...back up more often than on o' Jansen's..." which should be "one"

- Hubelpot wasn't listed as one of Volo's choices

- after the final battle, some weird stuff happened, but weird stuff sometimes happens in Ascension, so I reloaded & this happened twice:
...when the Solar offers you the choice, Hubelpot says "Where... you? So mah duty is not yet fulfilled? Very well. A deal is a deal, an Ah'll not try te back out now. So, ye got anything te eat around here?", which seems a bit out of place
...then it goes into his dialogue as if you'd kicked him out of the party (you get the "please rejoin" & "wait in the Pocket Plane" options
...I told him to rejoin, but then everything stopped - no more conversation, the Solar had nothing to say to me, & so I never got to see Hubelpot's epilogue :(

Incidently, those Rabbits from the Horn stick around a *long* time - the duration isn't listed in the item description, but I'd say it could safely be dropped quite a bit, like to a minute or two.

Anyway, enjoyed having him along for the ride - looking forward to future releases! :)
