I voted "Khadion", btw. JZ has been something to turn focus on when I've edited so many Khadion banters that I could throw up on speech patterns and characterisation.

Oh for crying out loud. How many threads on how many forums do you need to go spewing your bitterness, Sim? I hope you realize that your belly-aching doesn't so much translate to ppl as thoughtful, provocative commentary as it does the evident need for a little more bran in your diet.

#1 You do have the right to think a mod sucks, and you even have the right to post your opinion. However, everyone who thinks your opinion sucks has the same right to tell you as well.

So especially if you know that the opinion you post is going to be unpopular you might as well be man enough to take what your dishing out and accept the resulting criticism for what it is. If you want your criticisms to be well-received, you have to be strong enough to offer that acceptance first.

Otherwise, you're always going to see your arguments degenerate into bickering vicious circles that will only be read for the popcorn-munching dramafest of it all.

#2 If you have constructive criticism, be aware that there's a time and a place for it. The thread on which the mod is announced is probably not the best place for that kind of criticism. A new thread, or a thread asking ppl how they liked the finished product would be a better place for that.

Uninvited criticism is often seen as just being rude, especially in an artistic endeavor. If someone says, "please critique" then they need to be prepared to hear the worst. But if no critique is asked for then the person who decides to offer it anyway needs to be gracious when it's declined.

#3 Who the hell are you to tell ppl who are not even your friends (as far as I can see from the exchanges I've read) what to do with their time?

Get over yourself. Narcissist.

#4 Did it never occur to you to let the laws of supply & demand do some of your crusading for you? If it's a bad mod, it won't become popular and your work will be done without having touched a key on your keyboard. If it's a good mod and becomes very popular, then all this time spewing venom repetitively on many threads on various forums is going to make you look like an ass with a chip on his shoulder who doesn't know wtf he's talking about and whose opinion won't be regarded as important in any way when you offer it elsewhere.

There's no reason there can't be room for all kinds of mods. And there's no reason to expect that everyone will always want the same kinds of mods all the time. But if you feel the need to express your uninvited opinion, please know that it'll be more appreciated if you don't plaster it all over the place.

From this perspective you look like the town in Footloose desperately telling the kids that dancing is going to send them all to hell.

... It didn't work for them either (not to give away the plot).

You are, of course, enititled to your opinion, but you can't stop a game as popular as BG to be modded in some ridiculous ways from time to time.

I for one would like to be able to go back in time and stop The Darkest Day (aka The Darkest Day in BG2 modding history) from happening, but alas, I can't, and if someone enjoys playing it, then by all means let them, while I download what I see as serious mods.

Besides, Jerry Zinger is quite fun, and I can't see what harm it does? If you don't like the idea, don't try the mod

I don't think the question should be "Would you rather SC worked on JZ or Khadion", but instead "Would you rather Sim incite flame wars on message boards or work on Quest Pack upgrades".

For the record, I agree Khadion is more interesting, but I do find Jerry Zinger original and funny.

Heheh! In my subjective opinion The Jerry Zinger Show mod was worth releasing just for the entertainment value of that PPG thread. Plasmocat's little rant made me chuckle too. Maybe I'll try the mod oneday, however, I think it might be a bit of a let down after those.
