- A Baldur's Gate II (SoA with or without ToB) Mod

+) Section 1. About
===================
Baldur's Goth II is a mod which enhances the graphical side of Baldur's Gate, in an attempt to make the game more 'Gothy'. The first version features edited portraits and paperdolls of all NPC's, as well as a new startup screen for both SoA and ToB.
Baldur's Goth II has support for Throne of Bhaal, but the expansion is not required.

+) Section 2. Installation
==============================
Baldur's Goth II is a WeiDU mod, which can be installed before or after any other WeiDU mod. Official patches and non-WeiDU mods should be installed prior to all WeiDU-mods, including Baldur's Goth II.
The mod has two separate components:

1. NPC Enhancements
This component will add new portraits and change the paperdoll colours for all joinable Bioware NPC's, including Sarevok for ToB, as well as for Jon Irenicus.

You can choose to install the portraits or the paperdolls separately, or to combine them. The latter is recommended for full experience.
2. New Main Screen Images
This component will change both the SoA and the ToB main screens.

This mini-mod is a companiion to Baldur's Goth which enhances the graphical side of Baldur's Gate. This is an attempt to make the modded NPCs more "goth" and fit in more with the original Baldur's Goth mod. This version features edited portraits and paperdolls for all but one of the modded NPCs for the TuTu and BGT expansions of Baldur's Gate I.

+) Section 2. Installation
==============================
BTBGT is a WeiDU mod, which can be installed before or after any other WeiDU mod. Official patches and non-WeiDU mods should be installed prior to all WeiDU-mods, including The conversion of BG1 to either TuTu or BGT. It will only work if desired NPC is installed first.

+) Section 3. Components
=====================
Fabio - Fabio is the bard from The Secret of Bone Hill mod by Sir BillyBob. Fabio is a neutral bard, who can be found in the town of Restenford. The Secret of Bone Hill has it's own forum at Spellhold Studios. http://www.shsforums...p?showforum=194

Indira - Indira is a wonderful NPC mod by Ghreyfain. She is described as "half-elven, lawful good fighter/mage to be found in the Firewine Ruins." Her webpage can be found on the TuTu enhancements page: http://www.pocketpla...p...4&Itemid=94

Mulgore - Mulgore is one half of a NPC mod by Grave. Mulgore is a chaotic evil half-orc barbarian, who can be found at Ulgoth's Beard. He can be found (along with Xavia) at Spellhold Studios on this thread (they do not have their own website): http://www.shsforums...mp;#entry229673

Mur'Neth - Mur'Neth is a NPC mod by Andyr. He is described as "a member of the race of ooze-like shapechangers who venerate Ghaunadaur, the evil deity of oozes, moulds and the like". Xavia - Xavia is the other half of the NPC mod by Grave. Xavia is a neutral evil half-elf female assassin. Like Mulgore, she can be found at Ulgoth's Beard. Finch was not included in this mod at the request of Bons. I aksed for her permission via PM at Pocket Plane, and her responce was very nice:

"While a player can privately replace an NPC's portrait with anything they desire, I cannot endorse a mod that would change this attribute to be so at odds with Finch's character. I'd personally find it detrimental to the work I put into creating her, so I'll have to decline participation. Thank you for inquiring and good luck with your project."

So please, no one ask for a Finch component. Let's respect her wishes. Badgering people about thier mods is one of the many ways the modding community looses many talented modders.

- Added the option to Install the portraits in your portrait folder to be used by <charname> or muli-player characters. The portrait names have been slightly altered so they will not override the NPC portraits if you choose to use them for the PC, but not for NPCs.
- Corrected the size of the Mur'Neth M portrait from 172 x 110 to 170 x 110 as it should have been originally.
- Removed the .bmp.bmp extension from the easter egg.
- Many corrections and fixes as suggested by Ascension64:
- Added placeholder to the backup folder.
- Removed the question marks from ~Install mod component~ to prevent two question marks showing.
- Removed the thumbs.db file and changed all folders from the slideshow view to icons.
- Renamed the Mur'Neth folder to MurNeth, as it could cause problems with non-english language systems because of the apostrophe.

- Corrected an error with Fabio's .cre files not having the extension listed in the .tp2 file.

I. About:


On the original "Baldur's Goth" thread, Sidhe requested versions of the Bioware NPCs without red lipstick. Dymphna created some great alternate portraits, and options are always a good thing. Then I browsed though the forum a bit more. I found her Jaheria without the lipring, and her Saervok without the red glowing eyes. I thought, why not include these? This also seemed to be a good place to toss in my alternate Jaheria. Suddenly my second "mod" was under work (Yes I started this and left it unfinished for a long time).

II. Installation:


BGII is required. ToB is optional. "The Baldur's Goth Expansion" should work fine with any WeiDU mod. It will work best with the original "Baldur's Goth mod. That way you can have the edited paperdolls and the awesome startup screen.

Unzip the main ZIP file into your BGII main directory. This is normally:
C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\

Run (click on) "Setup-Baldur's Goth Expansion.exe".

Then choose which components you would like to install. You may always uninstall them later by re-running "Setup-Baldur's Goth Expansion.exe".

As far as I know, you do *not* need to start a new game to take advantage of anything you installed. But some of them only help at the beginning.

There are several components and multipule portraits for each of the NPCs. In time, there will be a splash preivew pic, but this is a beta I rushed to finish in time for a Halloween/Samhain release.
