The first of its kind? Perhaps! Please welcome Infinity Engine Radio!

Infinity Engine Radio (IER) is a radio show/podcast that provides news, interviews, and events surrounding the Infinity Engine modding community. I realize such shows are gaining popularity, and cover just about every subject on earth, so I figured, why not create one for the IE modding world?! Alas, here it is! My first attempt at what I hope will be a successful new addition to our community.

Also, don't be shy to post your comments and suggestions in this thread, or Email them to ier@iegmc.com. Any feedback you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for that. :) Believe me, I doubt that was the only mistake I made.

P.S. You listened to it already? Wow! You're good. :)

Also, now BP is not the mod combiner, it's "just" a bunch of harder battles and other fixes ;)

GIT!!!

I was working on a Podcast for IE Modding too! Are you against your material getting in iTunes?

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?

Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.

Still a cyberjock, still hacking the matrix, still unsure of what that means.

There is no reason why we could not work together, my dear lad. :) In fact, that's a call to anyone who feels they can contribute; drop me a line and we'll talk. And no, I'm not against this show appearing on iTunes, but first, I'd like to know if this puppy has a future. Otherwise, it would be for naught. :(

Quite professional work, no doubt. And a great idea. Congratulations, TheWizard.

Edit: maybe one thing. The background music is cool and all, and greatly suits the general style expected from good-quality (commerical) radio stuff. However, IMO, it doesn't suit the content itself. Maybe if it could be 'mixed' (I'm no music expert) with some RPGish/BGish music in a proper way. (Or by replaced by some 'stronger' RPGish music.)

Thanks. :) I have to be careful about what music I use, as there is a ton of music out there which I do not have the rights to play "on air."

Hello!

It was a nice idea to come up with radionews about Infinity Explored engine based games! I am mostly interested in news concerning Mods for BGT/TuTu and I got to hear some interesting things although most of it is informations I already knew.

If I can give an advice, I'd say to arrange interviews with the authors and perhaps to get to know a side of them that is not so public.

Personally I'd like to know more about guys like Ascension64, Horred the Plague, CamDawg, SimDing0, King Diamond and so on...

There are many intelligent questions that might be asked about their future project, future possible collaboration (the Merger between TuTu and BGT), the upcoming releases like the BG2 Fixpack...

It'd be nice to get some exclusive contents and not only the common forums news!

Thanks!

We're still dreamin' ;)

Great job, TheWizard!

Thanks all! Keep the feedback coming! :)

Any corrections that have been brought to my attention will be remedied in the next episode.

Salk: We plan on having interviews, so no need to worry there. ;) I'm sure the interviews will dig deeper than what has been shared on the forums.

Speaking of which, IER is not intended to replace the forums at all, but rather to complement them. The forums are still the quickest way to get news; the radio show will repeat some of that news (in an audible form), discuss it, and offer additional things which are scarce on the forums (reviews, interviews, other little trinkets, who knows?! :)). I think the biggest factor is that the show is able to be heard, rather than read. If reading was satisfactory with everyone, then radio would not exist, as everyone would be content with books and newspapers. ^_^

Episode 2 of Infinity Engine Radio is hot off the proverbial press!

Visit the web site at http://ier.iegmc.com to download the episode and read the show notes.

Yes, I know some of the audio is not great. It will be better for the next episode, so bear with us please! Other than that, keep your comments coming! Thank you!

Thanks. Really enjoyed it. You've even got a good voice for radio! Professionally made with the following exception.

My only idea I had was to follow a tighter format for your future shows... I listen to a lot of podcasts, but not many of them succeed with a good format.

Even if you don't follow astronomy, "Planetary radio" is a good weekly 1/2 hour show that has followed the same format since its inception. Listen to it for full comprehension, but it follows the following format:

Intro & News-in-Review (~5 minutes)
Question part of Q&A (~1-3 minute)
Interview/main contant (~15-20 minutes)
Answer part of Q&A (~1-3 minute)
Regular 'funny' guest (~ 5-10 minutes)

That format keeps us coming back for more.

You know, you could adapt this or a similar kind of format to the IER formula to make it a bit more structured.

Anyway, loved the concept. Because it's a topic I have an inteest in I'll be coming back for more, and look forward to seeing it develop.

PS: this was only after listening to IER#1 :D
