After installing Baldur's Goth, I decided a few of the replacements weren't really to my taste... So, I uninstalled the mod, but copied and pasted the portraits I wished to keep in my Override folder. The problem is, even after installing other portrait mods, some of the undesired NPCs portraits are still "gothy"! Any idea what's causing this?

Hm, this sounds very strange. Are you sure there are none of the undesired portraits left in the override folder?

Check your portrait folder.

(And, yes, I'd agree with Sim: 0/O in Confirm Code is quite annoying)

Conrad: Other than the ones I decided to keep, nope. The fact that they're still showing up confounds me, as anything I put in the ovveride folder after Baldur's Goth should ovveride the baldur's goth portraits, shouldn't it?

Kulyok: You mean the PC portrait folder? That shouldn't have anything to do with NPC portraits, should it?

Actually, it might. The portrait folder works as an override directory, and actually overrides override. :)

That's interesting... Didn't know that! :)

Well, I just checked both, and I have no Baldur's Goth portraits in the portrait folder, and only the ones I wanted to keep in the Override. Suggestions?

No dice. :(

I think I might have to end up using Shadowkeeper on this one... Thanks for trying to help, though! (Probably I'll get this resolved next time I reinstall the game and mods, but that's a headache I don't really want to take on today. :P )

The plot thickens!

In ShadowKeeper, it showed the NPC portraits as they were supposed to be! However, the game is still showing Baldur's Goth portraits for several NPCs (while others are not).

I did notice some 2DA files bearing the names of some of the NPCs in question in my override folder... But 2DAs are for the paperdolls, aren't they?

No, 2da affects other parts of the game and shouldn't have anything to do with this.

Problem solved! You were right, Conrad: I had some inappropriately named files in the Portrait's folder that were overriding Override.

Thanks much for the help, folks!
