I started a new topic for the most recent updated Installation Instructions. Hopefully this will keep the confusion down about what Versions it's on.

This one is for the latest versions of the BP family of mods, and also includes RoTv2.0 (To clarify: NEJ2v42b+NEJ2v602 Patch+SoSv1.11+TDDv1.11+CtBv1.8+TS-BPv6.04.02+RoTv2.0+BGTv1.01+DSotSCv1.85WM6+NTotSCv1.45WM6+SoBHv2.05) all of which should be installed prior to installing any of the other smaller mods. After you install the smaller mods, install BPv177 prior to installing the different tweaks.

The latest version of NEJ2 (Version 6.7 and above) currently will not install nor is compatible with the BP family of mods. It will break your install so DO NOT use that version with this instruction.

EDIT* Updated WeiDU Log to reflect changes recommended by seanas! :)

***WARNING*** If you choose to install Refinements it will overwrite your 50th level experience ruleset with it's 41st level ruleset. If you mess around with the XPLEVEL.2DA located in Refinements\Hlab\_shared\copy to adjust it, or try overwriting it with the TDD 50th Level XPLEVEL.2DA before installing Refinements, or if you just copy the TDD 50th Level XPLEVEL.2DA to your override directory after Refinements has run, when you begin a new game your character will begin at 1st level in all classes, with 0 experience points (both normal indications), however all of your classes will be set to -1 for "Next Level", and no matter how many experience points you get, you will never level up. Fix for this is attached below.

***EDIT 07/03/06*** I've uploaded a revised version of the Mega Install Instruction with various changes gleaned from all the feedback reports from previous versions. Hopefully it will smooth out any rough spots. SoBHv205FullWM6 is released at SHS mirror, so it is updated with that link plus the new instruction for BGTv101. Includes BGT-NEJ2 oAR0602.baf fix.

***EDIT 07/04/06*** For those that are wondering about Xvarts still being in the install instruction, Xvarts ARE a part of BPv177 now, but I left that part in the instruction just to be a simple WeiDU auto-updater to WeiDU v192 (Xvarts was the 1st little mod that was released on v192 that I know of). You don't need to install the Xvart mod if you are installing BPv177. Of course, all of your Setup-XXX.exe's get auto-updated to WeiDU v194 now with WMv6 anyway,,, :whistling:

***EDIT 07/05/06*** Updating Mega Install Instruction as per Weigo.
Megamodifikation-- You may install the worldmap at any point after the mods with worldmap entries (BP, BGT, NeJ, SOS, TDD, TS, ROT, CtB, DSotSC, BH, NTotSC etc.). However to be certain you get all the map links updated continue installation order like we've been doing with worldmap v5. (Ie; Install WMv6 just before running the GUI switcher, just like before.) Installation Instruction has been updated.

***BG2 Fixpack Warning 07/09/06 Resolved with Beta2 Release*** If you should choose to guinea pig your install with the newly released BG2 Fixpack Beta, DO NOT install the "Super Happy Modder" component if you are also installing Check the Bodies v1.8 as it will cause a fatal installation error in CtB. The rest of the Fixpack should install fine as a replacement for Baldurdash - WeiDU v1.5 with the exception of the warning immediately following this entry.

***BG2 Fixpack Warning 07/11/06*** Unfinished Business "Restored Minor Dialogs" component in conjunction with BG2 Fixpack causes AR1303.bcs to become corrupted and thus causes a fatal install error in the AI component of BPv177. (And probably any other mod that does anything with AR1303.bcs) Workaround for this follows: http://forums.gibber...t=0
Bjornin.cre for Jovial Juggler Crash w/BG2 Fixpack - Place it in your override directory.
***Edit 08/18/06*** Bjornin issue resolved with Beta2 Release.

***EDIT 07/27/06*** There is an issue with DSotSC & Worldmap v6. As soon as you go to The Forest of Lost Souls, all other points on the Worldmap change to "Destination Unreachable". Worldmap issue is resolved (at least on my install) by CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("DSC002") after completing the Banshee. You can go to any other area for that matter, but might as well make it DSC002 to do the next step. Once you are out of DSC004 area "Forest of Forgotten Souls", your Worldmap reverts back to normal operation and you no longer get the "destination unreachable" error message in the scripts.
A permanent fix has been made to resolve the DSotSC WMv6 link and German language issue. Download weigo's fix at: http://www.shsforums...showtopic=21362 . For a fresh installation place the downloads in your BGII-SoA directory, right-click on them and "extract here" before running your DSotSC & NTotSC installations. They will replace your Worldmap folders in those respective directories. If you only want to re-install the worldmap, follow weigo's instructions in the above linked thread. Unfortunately, in order to see the change, a new game will need to be started. I'd recommend fixing your map for the future, and just clua your way out of the "Forest of Forgotten Souls".

***WARNING 08/25/06*** Please do not install Battles or COM Encounters or Dark Ritual except at your own risk as there appear to be unforseen compatibility repurcussions to your game play due to their installation with the other mods in the Mega-Install. Please use the attached WeiDU logs as a base template for your installation.

***WARNING 09/01/06*** BG2 Fixpack/BG1-BG2 Transition Issue. There appears to be an issue with the BG1-BG2 transition when BG2 Fixpack Beta2 is installed. For a temporary Workaround until this is addressed further, open the BG2 Fixpack .tp2 with a text editor and delete the two sections that deal with 1.) AR0602 Pause and Drop Exploit, and 2.) TELE0700 Familiar Exploit. Then install BG2 Fixpack and BGT installs properly and your AR0602 & TELE0700 .bcs's aren't woofed and your BG1-BG2 transition works properly.

two q's:

1. arent all compatible tweaks supposed to go at the end and therefore after bp?
2. is there any perticular reason why fr and rov are in the end and not with the other item mods?

EDIT: sorry for the multiple posts. kindly delete the copies coz i cant seem to be able to do it.

1. I just put them where they were because as far as I know they aren't items that are modified by BP.

2. Freedom's Reign is at the very end because somehow, someone overlooked it during all his copying and pasting of mod .rar archives during his installation,,, :whistling:

I haven't had problems yet with the previous install, and the STATS.ids file in Battles\stats\ids directory I replace with the one that gets created by running the bigg's 1stMod.exe as it has the same info in it. Then I run the mod and it seems to work.

i vaguely remember horred or seanas mentioning in some post that since tweaks do mass hex patching of files they should always go at the very end (may go before worldmap tho). but hey, i might be completely mistaken.

If they need to go after BP, it's easy enough to move them to that location in the order. Let's get confirmation from Horred or seanas 1st though.

from the as-yet unreleased BPv177 readme (posted here), the list of mods to be installed after BP:

Improved Celestials
TheBigg Tweaks
G3Tweaks
TuTu Tweaks
D0Tweaks (after TuTu Tweaks)
DefJam
Divine Remix
Virtue

from erebusant's weidu.log, i see that he's got D0Tweak and Tutu Tweaks installed before BP. the effect of this, from what i can tell, is that the following components either might work less than optimally, or might not work at all:
~SETUP-D0TWEAK.TP2~ #0 #17 // Sensible Lore Table
~SETUP-D0TWEAK.TP2~ #0 #18 // Improved Backstabbing
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #159 // Expanded Dual-Class Options
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #165 // Higher HP on Level Up -> Maximum
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #168 // Maximum HP for NPCs (the bigg) -> For All Creatures in Game
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #219 // 100% Learn Spells
- cos i'm guessing they're making changes to 2DA files that BP later comes and changes too: worst case scenario, you'll get BP's default behaviour.

i might add that installing things like
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #95 // Stores Sell Higher Stacks of Items
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #151 // Allow Thieving and Stealth in Heavy Armor
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #152 // English Only: Alter Item Descriptions for 'Stealth and Thieving Abilities in Heavy Armor' Component
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #155 // Allow Arcane Spellcasting in Heavy Armor
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #156 // English Only: Alter Item Descriptions for 'Allow Arcane Spellcasting in Armor' Component
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #225 // Unlimited Ammo Stacking
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #228 // Unlimited Gem and Jewelry Stacking
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #231 // Unlimited Potion Stacking
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #234 // Unlimited Scroll Stacking
~SETUP-TUTU_TWEAKS.TP2~ #0 #237 // Make Bags of Holding Bottomless

before item mods such as
~SETUP-EXNEM.TP2~ #0 #0 // Exnem Vault v5, Install Items
~SETUP-EXNEM.TP2~ #0 #1 // Add items to creatures
~SETUP-EXNEM.TP2~ #0 #2 // Add items to areas (affects SOA areas only - not BGT, TDD, CtB, etc. areas)
~SETUP-FR_ROV.TP2~ #0 #0 // Freedom's Reign (SoA or ToB)
~SETUP-FR_ROV.TP2~ #0 #1 // Reign of Virtue (ToB)

means that the items added by these mods wont see the effects of the tweaks - ie, no thieving, stealth, arcane spellcasting, unlimited stacking or bottomless containers could be expected to be seen in Exnem or FR/ROV items. again, tihs is no game-breaker - it's the mod-default behaviour - but it might not be the behaviour you expect to see in-game.

Thanks Sean!! I'll redo that part of the install to put the tweaks after and repost the WeiduLog when I'm done. It shouldn't make a difference re: the New Install Instruction however.

Ok you copied stats/ids from what?? :) and where can it be found :)
also i thaught that improwed assylum is a part of BP isn`t it?

and a question to someone who knows how to do it. If i would like to install only a few kits from RoT, few from TDD and some other mods and i would alos like the npc`s who should have new kits(which i won`t install) to have them so in other words i would like only some of the kits to be installed as choosable for player and the rest to work with npc`s that are using them. Is it possible to write something like that? The small mod that would let you choose which kits you would like to instal fully and which only for in game npc to use?

When you run 1stMod.exe it appends to several of your .ids files and has all of the line items in them that are used by all of the subsequent mods. After I run it, I copy all of the .ids files from my override directory into a seperate folder to use at any future time. I replace the modified STATS.IDS that Battles uses with this 1stMod updated STATS.IDS because it has all of line items in it that Battles calls for as well. So copy the 1stMod appended STATS.IDS file to Battles\Stats\IDS and overwrite the STATS.IDS that is there and you should be good to go.

I need to look into exactly which areas in Spellhold are changed by both mods. The battle from "Improved Asylum" is a MUST. Especially on Insane!!! :woot:

All Battles does with the STATS.IDS is replace the one in your override directory with the one that it has in it's subdirectory. If you overwrite the STATS.IDS file that comes in the Battles mod with one that has every line item that is needed for any of the mods you are going to subsequently install before you install Battles, all it does copy that STATS.IDS file into your override directory instead, which is the one you need anyway.

to keep it even simpler just install battles normally and then copy your backed up stats.ids to your override folder overwriting the one put there by battles and you will be good to go.

sorry amilath, but you've completely misunderstood that post: item mods have to go before tweak mods in order to see the effects of the tweak mods. so the current advice - that everything (bar a few tweak mods) go before BP - remains correct.

theres that issue with some copies of the NeJ files, MxLeinaA.acm is corrupt so it needs to be copied from C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\NeJ2\backup\8 to the correct patch in the NeJ install. this is quite widespread, probably worth noting.

hrmm i am using the install order in your weidu log you have posted come up to the point of installing battles (yes i replaced the stats.ids files in the subdirectory) however when it goes to convert it to Weidu x1.92 it says the dialog.tlk file is too big well by about half a meg:

[C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\Setup-Battles.exe] WeiDU version 127
ERROR: [dialog.tlk] has size 17339734: TOO BIG FOR WEIDU (max 16777211)
ERROR: error loading [dialog.tlk]

ERROR: Failure("error loading dialog.tlk")

any suggestions?

nm I got it figured out, just uninstalled the last 2 mods, and then rerun battles to convert it to weidu v192, doing same with any of my other mods before installing anything else that needs to modify the dialog.tlk file
