I have CtB v1.8 installed along with many other Weidu mods on a completely patched BG2:ToB game (including Baldurdash and bg2fixpack), with an XP Cap removal. However, each time I load a saved game, my main character's experience reduces to 2950000 (BG2: SoA XP cap).

I completely reinstalled the game (SoA, ToB, official patch, Baldurdash and bg2fixpack), installed CTB and XP Cap removal as the only mods and the problem persists. So, it's definitely a CTB problem.

Viewing a savegame with near-infinity shows the proper XP, so the problem can be pinned down to loading.

Any fixes or workarounds?

The problem is in CtB overwriting the wrong portion of Bgmain.exe.
Solution: open Bgmain.exe in a hex editor, look for the value 70 03 2D 00 (which is 2950000) - it should be in location 6B7260, and replace it with a large number you will not be able to reach with your character, for example 80 F0 FA 02 (50 million).

when i'm using BGT and installing mods in this order:

0. Full BGII SOA+TOB+26498 patch (and BG1+ToTSC+5512 patch or BG Original Saga if installing BGT)
1. BG2 fixpack v1
2. NEJ2v42 + NEJ2v602 patch, and NEJ2 biffer v3 if using BP-weidu (but see *note)
3. SoS v1.11 and/or TDD v1.11 and/or CtB v1.8 and/or Tortured Souls for BP v6.09 and/or Reign of Terror v2.0 - in any order (but note: NEJ2 and CtB have some incompatibilities. be sure you want to install both of these before you go ahead and do so)
4. Baldur's Gate Trilogy v1.02 (read the instructions in readme file before installing) and NeJ2-BGT compat patch if using both NEJ2 and BGT
5. Dark Side of the Sword Coast v1.85
6. Northern Tales of the Sword Coast v1.45
7. Secret of Bonehill v2.05

8. All other mods, except the ones on this list (they should go after Big Picture v177)

9. Big Picture v177
10. BG2 Tweaks v3
11. DEFJAM XP fixer v3
12. BP-BGT Worldmap v6.3

is there a particular place in the list where the cap patch should be applied or it doesn't matter?

regards

you can install it any time after you've installed CtB. the fix isn't a weidu mod - it directly patches baldur.exe - so it doesn't matter when you install it.
