I didn't find it much of an epic battle at all - just a long drawn-out slugfest. Khelgar laid into Garius good and proper; every time Garius got up, Khelgar knocked him down so G never got off any spells and the rest of the party had time to do what was necessary to join in the fight. Something very similar happened when the King of Shadows finally showed up; incredibly, my party (minus Sand - spit!) took hardly any injuries throughout the whole affair.

I'm not sure if I was disappointed or not!!

I'm now playing MotB (just finished the shadow furnace quest) and getting the distinct feeling that I'm being railroaded....

I stopped enjoying the PC when I got to Merdelain. The dungeon was boring, the fights frustrating (not just the boss fight, but all of them). I had to reload a lot and the reloads were so slow I just turned it all down to easy to get it over with. Up until then, I'd really enjoyed it.
I hate boss fights.
