Both Lingering Songs, Skald and Bard, keep on stacking and giving greater and greater bonuses, with 4.04.
Tested multiple times and re-downloaded RR to check.

I wanted to make bard songs "lingering" by default in my own mod, but can't seem to get the "protection from song" effect working so that it actually lets ANY effects through.

I am unable to reproduce this.

On my local install, neither the True Bard's Lingering Song nor the Skald's Lingering Song stacks with itself. The songs do stack with each other, but that is intended behavior. Also, are you sure that you're not mistaking the intended double saving throw/AC bonus which the Bard/Skald himself receives as song stacking? In any case, post your WeiDU.log please.

Never mind. I made an error in the testing with your files. Still, I can't get the same thing working on my files...
There does, however, seem to be an issue that the songs' projectile animation set to 0, when I think it should be 282.

Again, sorry for cluttering up the thread. I swear, I've been trying to get these darn songs to work all night...

The songs use a custom projectile which is set during the installation process.

Can you open the file "override/rr#eval.2da" in a text editor and post its content here?
My guess is that when you install RR you end up with more than 255 secondary types in your game (values over 255 are illegal and would cause an error like this). If so, you need to choose between RR and one or more other mods that add secondary types. You can find out which mods add secondary types by getting a --change-log on the file msectype.2da. How to do that is described here.

(Not every entry in rr#eval corresponds to a secondary type, so if some entries have values over 255 that does not necessarily indicate a problem.)

Hey, thanks for the answer, but I found a way (an odd one) to correct the problem. The error was due to a WRITE_BYTE command at 0x27, attempting to give to RR#BJS10.spl its second type (which was correctly found). I changed the command to WRITE_LONG, and it worked fine! I also got this again later installing aTweaks mod, and the problem was the same: trying to WRITE_BYTE at 0x27 position in RR#ETHER.spl. Once changed to WRITE_LONG, it installed right too! Anyway, thanks again for the fast answer! :cheers:

No, the problem is as I said: you have too many secondary types. By changing the WRITE_BYTE into a WRITE_LONG you have merely postponed the problem to sometime during game-play. I don't know what you can expect, but at the very least Fascinate and Etheralness will not work properly.

Well, something's obviously not right here. Only RR and aTweaks is showing in the change-log, yet you have all sorts of junk in your msectype.2da file, including duplicate entries from RR.
It looks like mods have been installed and then only partially removed.

You may want to try restoring from clean backup (or reinstalling). If you have made a backup yourself you should verify it is actually clean. An unclean backup would cause problems like this.

Sorry for taking so much time to answer, but I've decided to reinstall and try it again, this time using BWP instead of installing each mode myself. But BWP didn't installed the mods in the intended order, and as it led to some errors, now I'm concerned with editing the install.bat to customize it further and it may take some time. As soon as it's finished, I'll post here if it got solved or not. Thanks for your patience. :)

Another bug that I found :

It seems like the bard "Scribe Scrolls" ability doesn't seem to work properly.
Not sure if it's due to a bug with aTweaks. (I installed aTweaks after RR)

On the other hand, the Wizard "Scribe Scrolls" ability works fine.

Edit.:
- Game version : BGT on a French BG1 / BG2 game.
- OS : Windows 7 64.
- Version : not sure, either last one, or the one right before the last one (I'll check once I get back home)
- No installation error that I know of.
- Regarding the mod-list, i'll list it tonight if you want me to, but the only mod that touches this ability is aTweaks / RR...

I can't reproduce this on a clean install + RR & aTweaks.

Post the textual contents of your WeiDU.log please.

You're using an outdated version of RR which contained the scribe scrolls issue which you describe.

Upgrade to v4.45 and the problem will disappear.

I just tried to import my previous level 40 character into a new ToB game and noticed that most of his HLAs, namely the ones from this mod, were missing. I closed down the game and opened up the character in Shadowkeeper and, sure enough, all my abilities were present and counted for. I tried importing the character again and the HLAs were still gone. The ones missing were crippling strike, acid trap, danger sense, alchemy, and evasion. The vanilla HLAs were there. Very odd. Has anyone of heard of this happening.

That's normal behavior. Since you were supposed to import from BG1, HLAs are not taken into account by BG2 when your character is imported. Easiest way to bypass this is probably starting a new multiplayer game, saving it, and then replacing the main character for the one you wanted to import in the first place. You can then copy the save from the "mpsave" directory to the "save" one and keep playing in single player mode.

Okay, thanks for the tip. The thing is though it recognized the vanilla HLAs like assassination, Use any item, and Avoid Death. I still had those. The ones from this mod were the only ones missing. I'll definitely try what you said. I didn't know you had to do that. I don't recall, in the past, having to go that route.
