Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to begin but I'd thought I'd start here as it is an issue with the world map.

I've just started a game have discovered that I cannot go to the Umar Hills. It does appear on the World Map but when I hover over it, it says 'Destination Unreachable'. I do not have a particularly heavy-modded game. My wiedu log is below.

I am able to 'Clua' my way there (I will use this method for now as I don't consider it cheating as I have legitimately opened up the area!).

The only thing I've attempted is to uninstall the 'Travel Times and Area Visibility' component of the mod but it hasn't made any difference.

I'd appreciate any help or tips.

Yes. All other areas that have opened up so far on the world map (Trademeet, CTD areas etc) are reachable.

And this was after speaking with Delon in the Gov't District to get the quest? I'll look at it real quick when I get home tonight.

Yes, I opened up the quest through speaking with Delon and with the cowled wizard (forgotten his name) who's looking for Valygar.

I just began a test BG2 game and was able to get the Imnesvale quest from Delon, and Umar Hills is travelable through the city gates with a travel time of 48 hours.

Are you able to use NI? Open up your save gams folder and then open the worldmap.wmp in your latest saved game. Double click on "map entry 0", then double click on "area entry 7" after the new window opens. Then click on "flags" and let me know what flags are set.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. Real life came calling.

I am having trouble with NI (I assume you are referring to Near Infinity?). I am not familiar with the program and I am having trouble with it. It won't open up worldmap.wmp. I keep getting the following error: Unsupported keyfile. In fact it won't open the other files either.

The version of NI that I have is v1.32. Is there a more up to date version out? If so, I'd appreciate a link.

Nope. 1.32 should be the latest version. Make sure the executable jar file is in your main BGII-SoA directory, and use the Near Infinity.bat file that is in the Near Infinity folder of your BP-BGT_Worldmap Directory. Copy that batch file to your main directory and double click on it and ishould run just fine.

Thanks Altomar for the link, it was indeed version 1.33b19-1.

Sorry about this Erebusant, but I'm having real trouble using the program. I have followed your instructions and put it in my main BG2 folder (which is D:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA) and copied over the BAT file (there were four of them, so I tried them all). The BAT files don't work; a DOS window opens up for a fraction of a second and then closes.

So I tried running NI itself, which opens up okay, but whatever I do, it won't open up worldmap.wmp, either from the tree down the left of the main window or from the GAME menu at the top.

Because that failed to work, I have tried running it from other locations in my BG2 folder but the result is always the same.

I'm probably doing something wrong. Bare in mind that I have absolutely no modding or editing experience.

Would it be easier if I just email you the file?

Whatever though, I really appreciate your help.

Maybe your worldmap is corrupted from one of the mods you have installed. i tried to open my worldmap with NI and i can't. When i used the "check worldmap" from DLTC Editor Pro v7.1 i got these errors.

WORLDM25
Serious error while looking up worldmap.
Invalid area link flag for map #1/link #1407 used in area entry #130.

You'll need to copy your Near Infinity.bat file and rename it the same as the jar executable file. Also, you'll need to edit the contents of the .bat file so it references the 1.33 jar. The Worldmap won't open because you need the 512M of memory it calls for. If it still won't open, try re-running the Worldmap install, and use the revised .tp2 that will allow your saved games to be converted properly (always make backup copies of your saved games before running this).

Right, I've finally got it working after I edited the BAT file as you said.

The flags that are set are: Visible, Can be visited, Has been visited

Each has a green tick next to it. I can confirm that the area is still unreachable in-game (although I have CLUA'd there). Maybe Altomar is right and the worldmap has got corrupted somehow.

The next thing to look at is the areas links. While you have the worldmap.wmp open, click on the "view" tab instead of the "edit" tab. Then click on the icon for Umar Hills, and look in the little dialog box which should list all of the areas that have links to Umar, and all of the links from Umar to the different areas.

I don't know. I don't use DLTC editor. From what I understand, it may have issues opening the worldmap.wmp file, but I couldn't say for sure. Can you open the file with NI?

1. open the Map
2. click the 'View" tab in the upper left corner
3. when you see the picture of the worldmap highlight the Umar Hills Icon.
4. click on "View/edit" tab at the bottom right below the map icons. this should give the the link info.

I have followed your steps and I don't get any link info. All I do get is what I've already posted I really seem to have a problem with the worldmap. Maybe I should reinstall everything? I'm not too bothered with losing my game as I've not progressed very far anyway.
