This post contains a listing of all spoken sounds scient and I were able to find that shipped with the game, along with if and where they are actually used. Stickying it for future reference.

Here is the key to understanding this thread:

1. Normal Text: Used somewhere. This could be played by a dialogue state (e.g. DDAKKON 243), by a script (BCS file), DEATH.2DA (plays when a PC dies), by the character's CRE file, or by the engine (removed from party, cannot remove default weapon, Morte's taunts, etc.).
2. Bolded, black: Unused with potential for possible restoration, or otherwise noteworthy in some way that needs looking at, but mostly just unused lines.
3. Strikeout: Unused, with little hope or need for restoration. Examples: lines reflecting the use of thief skills by non-thief PC's, duplicates of used lines, Annah's 15 different and useless ways of saying "What can change the nature of a man?", etc.
4. Red: Unused and already restored by a previously released version of one of my mods (Fixpack or the UB Restored Sounds and Banters component)
5. Bolded, red: Unused and scheduled to be restored in the next release of my mods.

NAM194: "Can't backstab with this weapon." -> Can't back stab with weapon. (possible with Hatred's Gift and switching classes)
ANA551A: "I can't backstab with this clumsy thing." -> Can't backstab with weapon (STRREF 37068) (never used)

This is possible for TNO only under very rare circumstances. This strref and audio clip will only be triggered if weapon has unusable by flag set for thief when successful backstab goes through. This can only be achieved by equipping cursed weapon "Hatred's Gift" with TNO as fighter and then changing classes to thief. The weapon won't be able to be removed automatically because it is cursed. You can never do this with Annah even though she is dual classed as fighter because this weapon excludes her. I didn't see any possible weapons without modifying stuff where this would crop up.

Strahan Runeshadow has a bunch of voice clips which I don't think are used (they in fact do not match his text dialogue). I wonder if he was meant to be a bigger sort of a mid-game quest boss?..

  • STR001.WAV - "Welcome... I've been expecting you."
  • STR002A.WAV-STR002C.WAV, STR003A.WAV-STR003C.WAV - Basic "hit" sounds.
  • STR005.WAV - "You haven't seen the last of me! *laugh*" - STRREF 34842, "Dying" (the only spoken line that's actually heard in-game).
  • STR008.WAV - "You again! How many times must I kill you?"
  • STR010.WAV - [can't really transcribe that gibberish, meant to be spellcasting apparently]

So are there any plans to restore the unused voice sets to the game? I'm mainly interested in the ones that are dependent on the morale level of your companions since I think they'd add a lot to the game. Although the game doesn't track morale for Nordom, Ignus and Vhailor, I could see ways of implementing those as well. The ones for Vhailor could play depending on how (un)lawful your alignment is (similar to the Strength bonus he gives you). For Ignus, it could be the same, albeit in the opposite end of the spectrum: chaotic/evil. Although I remember there was a dialogue option to show remorse after remembering what you did to him, so maybe that could be used. Or maybe having him burn you when he teaches you magic could improve his morale. The ones for Nordom could play depending on how you help shape his identity: how you upgrade him (especially the speech that requires high charisma) and if you get him to regard you as the new Director of the Modron Cube.
