I've had this sat on my desk awhile while I've become wrapped up in Oblivion and Mass Effect. Thing is, when I bought it, Amazon didn't have MotB.
I don't really know much about the two - do they feature the same characters and should I get MotB before starting?
Thankee!

Your Main Character is the same. The NPCs are almost all new, and the one who isn't new doesn't appear most of the time. They are probably more interesting, but that's mostly because there are fewer and they're around more so you learn more about them.

You don't need MotB to have a run through the OC at all, but it does add several classes and some character options which I don't think the patches provide. And it's a rather nice expansion in it's own right with an interesting story and slightly unusual environment. So I'd get it, and play straight through from the end of the OC and through Mask.

Back from the brink.

Like RPGs? Like Star Wars? Think combining the two would be fun? Read Darths and Droids, and discover the line "Jar Jar, you're a genius".

These, in the day when heaven was falling,
The hour when earth's foundations fled,
Followed their mercenary calling
And took their wages and are dead.

Regardless, the plot of MotB is so amazingly better than the OC, it's a crime not to play it.

I just finished the OC so I'm starting MoTB tomorrow. I actually enjoyed the OC a lot, apart from Merdelain, which was dull and frustrating. I wish the game had ended at the keep instead. That part was sorta fun.
