I've implemented the most recent changes into 1.15 pre-2.
Please test it from https://github.com/A...WeiDU/downloads (there are 2 download buttons: one as zip and one as tar.gz)

Thanks! I will still have to change something (both for Linux and Mac actually - Wisp has told me about a possible problem with some Linux distributions), but I didn't want to go too far away from your version (otherwise, it could become difficult to merge again)

edit: most of that is already in the code; I thought I hadn't uploaded it yet.
I'll check if it works correctly on Linux

Since no one is telling us how the install goes on OSX install (that is, without use of Wine), I've kept some of the safety features you put in (in case the exectuable gets deleted).
The rest of the changes are almost verbatim save a few things I didn't agree with (like the modifications to the original working intro15f -> soaintro [corrupt intro15f])

IIRC, that modification with intro15f and soaintro required the script from ar0602 to be mofified to also use intro15f.The re
ason why I did that is that it can create problems if the movie folder is in an unconventional place (eg, GOG puts it into data/movie, when the installer does not parse baldur.ini - eg in mac).
Since, from what I've understood, there was no need to duplicate intro15f (which was, then, "killed") to soaintro, a part from preventing the movie to be shown just after selecting "baldur's Gate", before the New game/Load Game/... screen, I deleted intro15f from the executable (just like you did for daynite and niteday), and replaced all occurrencies of soaintro with intro15f in scripts, moreover, all files modified in order to use soaintro instead of intro15f should not be touched any more, and the action which overwrites intro15f with some text must also be removed.

I'll look at that and upload a fix for that soon; I think it's very useful because it saves almost 100 MB and helps compatibility with the number of different installers available.

Sorry I've been AWOL for a while. Was there something that I should test still with OSX+Wine? Just let me know. ^_^

I know this is a really old thread but I noticed the first response dealt with opening the baldur.ini file. I am able to play BG2 and BG2 TOB on my 10.5.8 OS X using Wineskin, but I cannot find/open the baldur.ini file to put the cheat code capability in. Can someone help me out with that please? Thank You!

I do also have a question related to running the installer on Mac OS through wine wrapper:

There is a problem with running it (and I've seen many other people experiencing it as well), manifesting itself right after I answer the question to "biff resources" - "path not found" is printed and script is halted.

I do expect the wine wrapper I'm using is missing some windows utilities, but I can't say which ones.

My question is thus: Is there a way to put the setup-BGT into a verbose mode, so I can find which files are missing within the wrapper?

Thanks,

T.

No idea. My suggestion: make a basic BGT install in Windows, then move that to OS X's BG2 WINE package. Then install the rest of your mods there. (You can actually use the OS X version of Weidu to install, and thus use my 'Mac Weidu Launcher,' which is nice.)

If you don't have Windows, get VirtualBox and search for information about "tinyxp" (and then tread carefully)
