The mod website link on the SHS homepage is no longer valid. The above link should replace it.

I have notified the Admins of the dead links.  Hopefully they will have time to update them.

"Ok, I've just about had my FILL of riddle asking, quest assigning, insult throwing, pun hurling, hostage taking, iron mongering, smart-arsed fools, freaks, and felons that continually test my will, mettle, strength, intelligence, and most of all, patience! If you've got a straight answer ANYWHERE in that bent little head of yours, I want to hear it pretty damn quick or I'm going to take a large blunt object roughly the size of Elminster AND his hat, and stuff it lengthwise into a crevice of your being so seldom seen that even the denizens of the nine hells themselves wouldn't touch it with a twenty-foot rusty halberd! Have I MADE myself perfectly CLEAR?!"

Choo Choo was kind enough to update the link to the website on the top of the forum page for us, but unfortunately:

Hey guys, sorry, I've been away--the website is actually static at the moment, we have no way to update it (you might have noticed the lack of news updates there). We were hoping to make a new one earlier this year, but then I got hired by Beamdog and all free time went out the window. Going to be looking into it again soon.

I made some tweaks to the Screens and Features pages, and played around with creating a slide show on the Home page, so let me know what you think and if I've broken anything.

Hihaaa!   I have long waited for this wonderful news, so I can access all the background info on the npc's in this great conversion-mod. I've almost finished my first playthrough of it, will start another sometime to do the questpaths I skipped this time.

I suggest this is dead buy now but: Wow, thanks for making this available.

I struggled with finding a generic merchant in Oakhurst until I figured I recruited him before asking for his wares. Not convenient, you might want to change that.

You're welcome.  I continue to pay out-of-pocket to maintain the website each year for the benefit of players like you.  I'm just sorry we don't have the time/resources/(wo)manpower to continue developing CA.  Thank you for playing :).

Monetarily?  Sure, I owe another $32.87 (USD) in June to maintain the website, and that is in addition to the $179.88 I have already paid this year.  As far as updating the mod to be EE-compatable?  In terms of new content, CA is still probably one of the largest mods ever made, and at last update it was only something like 50% complete (although it is perfectly playable as-is).  That undertaking would be huge and would require a Wei-FU ninja with skills far beyond what I can offer.  Sir BillyBob was our coder, but sadly no one has heard from him in something like a decade.  Given enough time, I could probably update the area graphics, BAMs, audio, and the like, but in the grand scheme of things, that's only a small portion of what would need to be updated to bring the mod up to modern *standards*.

Would be nice if the mod was made EE and maybe even EET compatible despite no chance for actual new content.

This is a true TC mod, meaning it has no compatibility with any other adventure ... as it needs none of that, as it tells a story of it's very own. Well, technically you can make a different campaign that's still compatible within the EE games... but that doesn't matter.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

@OP: What about moving Classic Adventures to GitHub?  They host code, images, and files for the public for free, you can use Gibberlings3 & SHS for free forums, and GitHub seemingly has all the desired functionality minus the domain name, though you may be able to buy a URL redirection and that domain name for cheaper than you have now.

If you want, you can also encourage others to take over the project and finish from your current point.  Making things EET compatible seems like a spiffy goal should someone continue this project, even if this mod is meant as a separate campaign.

Sam, I've got a very odd question: given that this mod has some neat quests, would it be possible for you to merge some parts of it with "baldur's gate"? I think it would be neat to have the quests from this mod into it.

The purpose of CA was to be its own game. Therefore, I would prefer it to remain as its entity free of the Baulder's Gate story. I do hope someone who has the skill and time to complete it takes it over. I would be willing to share what the final vision was and pass over the project as I am the original co-creator with SirBillyBob(whom I haven't heard from in almost a decade)

Thank you Sam for keeping it going, email me and I can wire some money to help with the upkeep. I really appreciate all you have been doing to keep CA alive.
