I had no problems installing this on my computer, however on my wife's computer, I could not get it working!

After spending hours installing several mods on my computer, I was not about to do the same thing on my wife's computer, I just copied over the BG2 folder directly into her program files. Everything works, but when I use your installer, because the registry does not tell it where to go, I have to manually direct it to the correct folder. This isn't so much an issue as what happens next, but I mention it for the sheer fact it might be a catalyst to the main issue:

So after directing the installer to the correct folder, I let it do it's thing. The installer starts downloading files, and every single time, about 30% at f_perky, it says something to the effect of, "Unable to download. Please check your internet connection. If this problem persists, please contact..." Believe me, there is nothing wrong with my internet, at it's speed has never dropped lower than 55mbps, but usually over 65mbps. So, either the download on your end has become corrupt, or to install is failing due to something on my wife's computer.

Thoughts?

One final note, if you could tell me which file has been modified, then I could just copy *that* single file over from my computer to my wife's via flash drive in a matter of seconds instead of making wild guesses, but the included faq did not state which file this program alters, so I'm really not sure.

FYI for those with the same problem, I just took a huge flash drive and copied my gog.com folder in it's entirety and copied it over my wife's - takes about 3-hours with usb 2.0. Now all the files are there :D !

If either of you are using a recent version of Windows (Vista or later), I wouldn't recommend installing the game to the Program Files directory.  Windows has a tendency to prevent you from interfering with files there, leading to all sorts of unexpected results when modding your game.

Once you have a working installation somewhere other than Program Files, copying the folder to another machine is probably the best way to ensure that both your installations are identical.  If you end up moving the folder to a different directory or drive on the other machine, you will need to update the paths stored in baldur.ini (so the game doesn't crash).  Launching the game via bgmain.exe rather than baldur.exe will ensure that the game that starts is the one in the current directory (rather than any other version of the game you may have installed elsewhere).
