Hey all I am new to the DLTCEP and I have figured out quite a few different ways to edit the main char and learned the DLTCEP is much safer then shadowkeeper. I however cant seem to figure out if.....and if I can how to edit the npcs.....to make them more useful to my needs. Can somone point me n the direction needed to get this done....if.....I even can

Ah, what ?

The Shadowkeeper should be safe as long as it doesn't give you warnings of errors during the loading of the creatures, and in those games you need to configure the game correctly so it's compatible ... as in don't uninstall a mod and then except the Shadowkeeper to keep accurate record of the spells you had... start a new game and only edit those files.

What comes to safety, the DLTCEP to my knowledge is not a good savegame editor, it can edit all the files in the game, but those only affect non-savegame content(as in you need to start a new game to make sure you don't miss the change).

Have you tried to use the Level1NPCs NPC components ? You can make Minsc a mage, and Dynaheir a Barbarian(those are bad examples, but any kit of your choice is possible) and they get the weapon proficiencies and a spell and thieving abilities you wish, and yes, it covers the mod kits too as long as they are installed before the NPC component is installed.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

I have tried it . Its in the option of my BWP set up, but I wasnt sure how to use it properly through -that-.....I have used it installing it myself and know how to work it. Since this is a whole new concept for me. I tried it on one of my test installs. I need to play with it further and figure it out then....just wasnt sure how stable it was

Well, erhm, the NPC components are not an option in the BWS... so you actually won't use it through the BWS, you use the setup-level1npcs.exe after the BWS install, and you skip the already installed parts and go strait to the NPC components, the install path is defined when installed, making it insanely hard to retro-produce as the mod itself is a maze also, with too many variables to take into consideration.

Well, actually, it works perfectly as a save game editor, even though it is not a specialized save game editor. I always use it to edit my saved games :)

Well, yes, you can edit the .gam files... but for that, erhm you might want to get the amount of editing experience as you have, and not a total n00bs level... and were it to go totally off, you would have the sense to save the original files etc. PS, the Shadowkeeper has the user interface to accommodate the user, while the DLTCEP doesn't so much... and the only thing that can be useful that the Shadowkeeper doesn't have is that of the dual classed characters dualing option(and the rest of the .cre flags).
