It could be that there's a bad lightmap... or it could be something totally unrelated.

A possible way to get this fixed is to go to the area you were, push the "x" button to get the area code(say in this example "arvwdf"), and then exit the game, search the game folder for the file(the example it would be arvwdflm.bmp) and it's backups from the mod folders and put them one by one to the game folders override folder.

This should work so long as you have not deleted the mod folders.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Fortunately for me the CTD happens only when I engage the ogres in battle at a specific location on the map of Bear River area. If I lure the ogres somewhere else, no problem. I'll try your suggestion and we'll see. Thanks. :)

My fantasy story

"Man, in his discussions with other men about questions of religion, statecraft, geography, trade, has always reached a point in the discussion where it has seemed wise to reply to his opponent by disemboweling him or knocking his brains out."

My name is Thomas Hockenberry, Ph.D., and I think the "Ph.D." stands for "Pouring His Draft."

"The study of modern science today is being done by the brain of primitive man."
