You want to provide them yourself... note that different filesizes may lead to the BWS not recognizing them even if you say download and put them in the download-folder.
A missing file does not always mean that the link to file is broken. E.g. the BWS cannot load files from file-hosts that provide downloads only after you interacted with their website.

You will be asked if you want the BWS to run the download for the missing files again (useful if you had a connection problem) or provide them. Providing files can be done by initiating a download with your default web browser. You don't have to know the link, the "BiG World Setup" will open it for you to guide you through this process.
Your other choice is to select the file, which will open a file-selection-dialog. Browse your disk for the appropriate file and select it. You may also use this to force the BWS to use a file with a name or size that differs from the expected values.

You may also choose to remove these mods from further action if no essential mods are missing.

THINK! - It's not illegal.

Thanks to everyone for your replies. I was just worried there was something wrong with my installation not recognizing mods already present.

Is the the photo below part of the normal process of installing BWS? It happened a lot during the installation of a silent nsis something.

I think I have a new problem. I cannot click Exit, Back, or Continue at the photo below. The only click I can do is the red x at the upper right.

Yeah, the reason why that happens is that the .exe archives are extracted to the NSIS folder so they won't auto botch the game with single stray ALWAYS block in one of the mods that can kill the whole install. The BWS will then cut paste them to the game folder and then continue.

The BWS says, that it will install the last mod, so you probably just got to wait for that to finish.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

I'm not sure if this is weird timing or what, since after the whole part about recovering a few RPG Dungeon mods, this got posted to the IE Modding News.
At this point, I'm not really doing much Baldur's Gate related. More focused on Skyrim modding and the Born of Legend tabletop roleplaying game. Don't expect much activity here.

It's not weird at all, the BWS uses the official download links(at least in most cases it tries it's best) and thus the one reflects the other. So the problem was known for a while before it even got posted.

It'll be there in a bit(should be from a day to 3, depends on how fast people react). The mods update gives the usual hiccup...

Is it normal to have the message below after I quit the game? It disappears on its own and I don't have to do anything about it.4.jpg

Depends. If you missed the Biffing at the end and have several thousand files in your override-folder: Yes, you might have to wait some minutes.

I don't think that's the issue here, but the fact that when you quit the BG2 game normally, the Windows doesn't always recognize that the game was exited normally but assumes that it's running, and then "ouh S%&¤" hey it's not anymore ! And goes to the WTF?!?

The Imp, I think he is right. As per our past discussion, I used the BWS to install all the mods but Gen_Biff and Widescreen and then copied the whole folder to a separate location for my laptop/TV needs. I have tested them and they work fine in-game. A strange thing though, I was approached by a guard at Candlekeep:3.jpg

Plus at Irenicus' dungeon something happened and I was transported back to Candlekeep?

Lets see what will happen after I install these last two mods in each copy.

By the way, someone humor the uninitiated and explain how to do individual mod installations on top of a BWS?

its not strange, its mods you have installed working fine. the dialogue is part of the skip candlekeep thing which i forget is part of one mod and bg2 going back to candlekeep is part of check the bodies mod.

Yeah, the mods name is Dungeon Be Gone ... Guess what it does ?

Well, you download some kind of an archive, it's a .exe, .rar, or ,7z or what ever, you extract the mod to you BWS folder and then you run the setup-*modname*.exe and then you follow the instructions in the dos window, and push Enter after the answer you were prompted to give .. It's really not that hard.

Actually, that's a Sword Coast Stratagems component. The component either letting you skip the game via the guard, or removing the obvious tutorial monks in Candlekeep.

Do I extract them to the BiG World Setup folder, to the BiG World Downloads which is inside the previous one (and has all the downloaded mods), or to the BiG World Setup which is inside the first BiG World Setup?

None of the above. You extract them to your game folder where bgmain.exe is located; whatever name it has (mine is c:/games/BG2, fwiw).

You are insane indeed, see the kreso's answer, if you wish to install a simple mod to a game, why would you wish to involve a 4th party program ?
