Install problem - Corrupt file

Hello!

I'm having a little bit of an issue. Having recently (how could I have missed it?) discovered this mod, I decided to include in in my mass mod install for the EE of BGII.

So I happily download the rar with no problems, but when I try to extract the files, I get this error:

"C:\Users\Emma\Downloads\haerdalisromance_v2.1.rar: CRC failed in haerdalisromance\translations\english\wraith.tra. The file is corrupt
 C:\Users\Emma\Downloads\haerdalisromance_v2.1.rar: Unexpected end of archive"

Just in the remote possibility that my browser was doing something to the file while downloading it, I tried both Firefox, Chrome and - in desperation - Internet Explorer, to no avail.
So I considered if it was winrar's fault, and tried 7zip; same error. So I tried using my rar repair tool to see if it could fix the file so I could get it out of the archive.
It did recover it, but only partially, so even though I did get a 'wraith.tra', it was damaged.

The error when I tried to install anyway, in a chance attempt, was predictably this:

ERROR: No translation provided for @13

[haerdalisromance/dialogue/wraith.d] ERROR at line 32 column 1-17
Near Text: @13
    Not_found
ERROR: parsing [haerdalisromance/dialogue/wraith.d] Not_found
ERROR compiling [haerdalisromance/dialogue/wraith.d]!
Stopping installation because of error.
 

Is this problem because of something silly I did that I don't realise? Act of the gods? Something else entirely?
Any ideas of why this is happening and what I can do to fix it will be much appreciated!

(I'm using Win 7 and BG2:EE on Steam, in case that will matter)
 

Updating your WinRAR could fix your archive problem. Mine (v5.11 beta 1 (64-bit)) shoveled the file fine.

And well, you might have to update the weidu.exe to be a v23600 if you have not installed any other mods for the BG2EE game. The archive itself has v23500 ... in this case, download the Windows Binary Archive form here, extract the weidu.exe from it to your game folder and run it(this should start an auto update update) or rename it as setup-haerdalisromance.exe (after erasing the one that came in the mod), and then run it.

I updated winrar to its latest version, but the problem remains. When I try to extract the files, it still tells me that wraith.tra is corrupt and that there was an unexpected end of archive. The only difference is that it now says there is a checksum error in wraith.tra, instead of a CRC failure. Though that's basically the same thing, isn't it? My savviness regarding this is limited.

Trying to install the mod at all is a no-go, since it won't do without the file, and I can't for the life of me get it out of there!

Is there anything else I might try that can wiggle the wraith.tra out of there unharmed? I'm at my wits end, but it's become personal now.

Well, the only thing I can suggest is to download from another source... so I uploaded the file here, this should work, as I just downloaded the original archive and then just uploaded it, after I had made sure it extracted normally. Yes, the name has an extra "(1)" in it cause I downloaded the original twice for kicks.

Thank you so very much for your trouble! Everything worked just fine with the file you uploaded. But so strange. I tried the archives for other mods that were on my list (like the friendship packs) and most of them had a corrupted file as well. Since the files all seemed to be at the end (last in the translation folder) and winrar complained of an unexpected end, the only thing I can think of is that somehow, downloads from the SHS servers to me won't complete properly.

Most curious, but probably on my end, since it worked fine for you. I'll be digging though my settings.

The archives extract beautifully when downloaded with my android over the mobile network, so it seems my internet connection was somehow the culprit. Oh well. It's not ideal, but sure is better than nothing! Maybe it'll clear up.
