I've recently started a thread asking about 10pp in combination with a BWP install. Are IA and 1pp really the only mods that are not compatible with GemRB or are there further issues? I think I could pass over 1pp and IA if it allowes me 10 party members...
You have to understand that the ToBEx is critical to a few mods, because their enhances need the mod. Like SCS, and others that install the ToBEx if it's not present.
Other than that, the BWP/BWS is not build to make a GemRB game, as you have to use tools that you might not have, and that you have to buy.

if it allowes me 10 party members...

It's an illusion! A pity dream. It doesn't matter that GemRB engine is now able to have 12 person party. No game scripts were coded to support more than 6 and you will endup with game-breaking bugs with quests/teleportation/story. If you want to have better engine, use EE version - BG1EE has almost every old major mod converted.

I won't tal about the BG1EE, but tomorrow when the Siege of the Dragonspear is released, we'll have the parts for the EET, and that has BG1's, BG2's, SoD's, IwD's and parts of the IwD2's content made into a few mods that combo together well in the few next weeks. Not clean tomorrow cause, testing and other things have to be assessed. But so what.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Oh, OK, I thought the 10pp mod did take scripts into account.

I'm sorry, but I didn't understand what you mean here. The content of what is made into what kind of mods?

Thanks!

All the EE games will be combine-able via Enchaced Edition Trilogy mods into one game, like the BGT-weidu does for the BG1 and BG2(+addons). ... when it's actually released, after the v2.0EE patches for the games.

I tried my luck at the latest BWP v15.7

and it seems to work pretty well. Everything went fine during installation (nearly 300 mods including the big mods TDD, SoS, CtB, etc...)

Everything went fine except for one mod : atweaks

I tried atweaks v4.42 and atweaks v4.50 and It gives me parse errors in both versions :

[atweaks/baf/fey/rr#shama.baf] PARSE ERROR at line 462 column 16-41

Near Text: )

Not enough arguments to [RemoveSpellRES]. Recovering.

[atweaks/baf/elementals/rr#ezaam.baf] PARSE ERROR at line 1186 column 16-41

Near Text: )

Not enough arguments to [RemoveSpellRES]. Recovering.

How can I circumvent the problem?

If there's no solution I will skip the mod. But this one is important to me.

Strange.
I inspected the debug file and it seems that, despite the parse errors above, the atweaks components are installed ok. I have SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED on every atweaks component.
Is it safe to assume that the mod has been properly installed ?

I have seen this error in my own mod - looks like WEIDU when installing does not like RemoveSpellRES for some reason. My experience is that the script is nevertheless installed correctly and works in the game. Never found any problem with these errors.

I have not tested the specific mod you mentioned, but I am pretty sure you will have no problem with it from my general experience with some non-fatal errors that pop up in the install reports.

You may check rr#ezaam.bcs  and rr#shama.bcs in your installation (e.g. with NI) to see that there is no issue.

During my installation process, I got also 3 errors "TOO BIG FOR WeiDU".

[Setup-lolfixer.exe] WeiDU version 23900

[...]

ERROR: [./override/ISNF05.wav] has size 20715284: TOO BIG FOR WEIDU (max 16777211)

ERROR: error loading [./override/ISNF05.wav]

ERROR: [./override/ISNF05.wav] has size 20715284: TOO BIG FOR WEIDU (max 16777211)

ERROR: error loading [./override/ISNF05.wav]

ERROR: [./override/WQ0003.wav] has size 21457768: TOO BIG FOR WEIDU (max 16777211)

ERROR: error loading [./override/WQ0003.wav]

Leonardo says in his book it's because WeiDU version is wrong.

But as you can see, it's the latest WeiDU here.: v23900

So maybe those 3 wav files are really too big (exceeding 20Mb) and there's no way to circumvent this. I don't know.

Will this crash my game and break my computer?

Too big for weidu.exe to edit, it can copy them... but it should use the COPY_LARGE command, not COPY... and the limit is 16 MBs.

I noticed a very weird bug in v15.7 of BWP.

It seems the individual.bat doesn't install the Tethyr Forest patch! Yes, the Tethyr forest patch.

I have 300 mods, the install process took 6 hours, everything went ok except...it skipped the Tethyr Forest Patch.

Looking at the individual.bat, we can see :

    Call %EINST% SOS "0"
    rem interesting for SandrahNPC

    Call %EINST% CtB "0"
    rem required for SandrahNPC

    findstr /I /M "CTB.TP2~.*#.*#0./" %ELOG%>nul
    if %errorlevel%==0 (
        Call %EINST% CtB-Chores "0"
        Call %EINST% CtB_FF "0"
        Call %EINST% TethyrForestPatch "0"
        Call %EINST% CtBcutImp "0"
    )

The SOS "0" and CtB "0" installs well, but the whole section with CtB-chores, CtB_FF, TethyrForestpatch and CtBcutImp is ignored!!!

Why is that?

In my opinion....and maybe you can confirm that....just before executing the section, it installs CtB.....and then, just after that, it checks if CtB is installed...but it's doing it too fast.

I mean...it's a WeiDI timer problem. WeiDU is trying to go faster than it should. When it checks for the CTB.TP2~.*#.*#0./ reference, it hasn't been created yet. That's why the whole section is skipped.

Does it make sense?

Does it make sense?

It's probably not needed anymore... the CtB got those files updated at some point when -forgot_his_name- Taimon updated the mod.... hopefully memory served thus far. I actually was involved making the CtBcutImp, as my name is on the mod, with Lollorian.

The cutscene improvement just involved adding items(weapons and armor) to the characters that the original mod displayed the  "naked" chars beating Sarevok in fullplate with fists.

Are you sure it's a CtB related problem?

I'm using the exact version noted in the Bible --> v1.13a

The Bible is sacred  :lol2:

hm....anyway....I replaced :

    findstr /I /M "CTB.TP2~.*#.*#0./" %ELOG%>nul
    if %errorlevel%==0 (
        Call %EINST% CtB-Chores "0"
        Call %EINST% CtB_FF "0"
        Call %EINST% TethyrForestPatch "0"
        Call %EINST% CtBcutImp "0"
    )

by

    Call %EINST% CtB-Chores "0"
    Call %EINST% CtB_FF "0"
    Call %EINST% TethyrForestPatch "0"
    Call %EINST% CtBcutImp "0"

and it works like a charm now.

I wonder if I'm the only one trying to install BWP with the individual.bat

Maybe I should use the parameters/settings instead.

Hihi. Yes. It was a little joke. for laughing

I've never used BWS but I have the most respect for it.

For anything that the community does.

And I'll tell you micbaldur, I'm surprised this forum hasn't got more people.

It should be burstling with people from all around the world.

I mean...it's a 15 years work, one of the most successfull modding saga ever.

It's one of the greatest achievement, just like like Falcon BMS, or the Elder Scrolls community.

Hi,

I'm a huge fan of the Baldur's Gate series and wanted to play it again after many years. I know that there are many mods that are available out there now that help to change the flavor and feel of the original games and wanted to add this to my new mega mod install.

I have the Baldur's Gate "the Original Saga" (3 discs that has the TotSC), Baldur's Gate 2 Shadow of Amn (4 discs), and Baldur's Gate 2 Throne of Bhaal (1 disc). I am installing these games on a Macbook Pro 17" (early 2013) laptop that also has Windows 7 installed via Bootcamp. It has 250 GB of space for the Windows 7 Bootcamp section. The laptop has 8 GB of RAM. They are going to be installed on the Windows 7 portion of the computer.

I am totally new to modding or installing mods but I think that I can follow directions pretty well and notice that there seems to be lots of helps and guides out there. I'm currently using the Leonardo Watson Big World Project guide and installer v15.6 and the BigWorldSetup-bigworldsetup-86d8ed655ef5. I've followed it as best as I can with the install of the games and patches. All games are installed at the Custom or Full install with all blocks checked. It installs in the: Program Files (x86)/Black Isle/BGII - SoA (The Baldur's Gate "the Original Saga" is installed to: Program Files (x86)/Black Isle/Baldur's Gate). I then opened each of the 3 games and created save games and then exited per the guide. I've disabled the Anti Virus software and have disabled UAC. I also increased the virtual memory in Windows 7 (one post recommended I up it to twice the installed RAM at minimum). I run the Start Big World Setup - Update if needed tool to choose the mods that I want to add. It downloads these files from the net and auto extracts these files into Program Files (x86)/Black Isle/BGII - SoA folder. Once I've done this, I then go to the BGII - SoA folder and find the BiG World Install.bat file and launch it as the Administrator. I follow the settings and then eventually launch the installer. It seems to go through and install everything, but eventually stops with an error message. confused.png

The error message I keep getting is: Not enough storage is available to process this command.

I looked this up on the internet and Microsoft detailed how to go into your Registry Editor and find/create IRPstacksize. It says that sometimes you get this error when you have a decimal number size less than 12. I've bumped this up to as high as 50, but I still get this error and my install continues to fail.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong and can help??? I'd be very grateful.

Thanks guys!!

Hi!

I have an issue with my Big World. Baldurdash is accidentially updated to v1.75 and 1.74 is unavailable, and current BW Fixpack for BWP 15.7 supports only 1.74. Can anyone share BDash1.74 installation, please, or Fixpack adoption for 1.75 if any ?

Upd.: not actual anymore. Adopted patches and installed Megamod using BD v1.75 and TS v7.06.
