Interesting ctd when resting with injured party members

My latest install seems to be working fine, except one issue that's popped up: ctd when resting with the following errors:

Here's the odd part; I managed to narrow things down to the point where if I rested with Khalid out of the party, there is no ctd. Next I discovered that if I fully heal Khalid (while in party) via console command cntr-R, and then rest, there was no ctd. I couldn't find any further clues (checked Khalid's files and effects, unequipped all item, etc, nothing unusual), but at least I figured I could keep playing as long as I console healed Khalid every time I rested.

 

Then it didn't work anymore. I console healed Khalid as before but got a ctd. This started happening after I added Branwen to the party, so I tried cntr R healing her, then various other injured party members before resting.

 

My guess at this point is that whatever the function is that determines how much party members are healed upon resting is fubared. I've seen this yield odd results in previous installs (paying for expensive inn rooms only heals 1 hp, etc), though never to the extent of a full ctd. Is there a way I can track down the script or whereever this function is stored so I can take a look and tweak/fix it if possible? Or does the culprit hide somewhere else?

Posted before I could finish correcting one paragraph. It seems the forums here at SHS has some problems when attempting to edit longer posts?! Rather annoying especially when posting longer logs and such.

Then it didn't work anymore. I console healed Khalid as before but got a ctd. This started happening after I added Branwen to the party, so I tried cntr R healing her, then various other injured party members before resting.

Oddly enough, it started after Underdark (1st talk to Elhan), and continued through ToB. Going by logic similar to yours, I started to kill my party members to see if something was wrong on one of them.

One of the oddest things was that CTRL-y on Aeire actually chunked her, even if she was at full health - I've never been able to repeat that. :P

It became very annoying to save before each rest - sometimes it would crash, sometimes it wouldn't.

*sigh* This is not good news. Not entirely sure it's the culprit, but I'm probably never going to use 1pp v4 again; I've never had these kinds of ctd's with earlier versions. Unfortunately I don't think the author of the mod is active currently to look into things.

Hm... it seems after more testing the culprit may not be 1pp or any of the other mods that patch bgmain.exe. Trying to narrow things down, but it seems like it may be a modded kit or spell that's interacting poorly with the resting/healing routine that's causing the crash.

 

 

Yep, it looks like it's something from the Bladesinger/multiclass component from Scales of Balance that's causing the crash. I tested with resting right before obtaining the kit (via item), which worked fine, then rested (while injured) right after obtaining the kit, and boom, ctd.

 

[edit] Further confirmed that it's D5_BLAD1.spl that's the issue; removing it via SK from the character allowed resting with injured members in the party without ctd. Should be able to work out a fix to this

I have the same problem with my installation without all these mods, but only with my mods:

 

An Assertion failed in CGameEffect.cpp at line number 1536

 

This happens only when the party is very high level (near 30), when some of the party members are not healed and when the party is rested.

 

Did someone solved this problem?

God, that was a long time ago. I don't even remember what it was. Vaguely, maybe, something to do with the "rest until healed" option or one of those rest options. Try turning that off and see if it still crashes. That could narrow down the issue.

The mod is only preserved from v3 on so I don't even have files to compare to find what the fix was... :(
