Foundling: Between the Shades BETA available

Foundling: Between the Shades BETA is available. The mod fully playable, may need some polishing. I've decided to made the BETA version available.

Foundling is the thrall of Thaxll'ssillvia, the Shadow Dragon found in the Temple Ruins. He is cold, calculating, and determined to be freed from his influence. He can never oppose his master on his own, but everything can change thanks to the influence of the Bhaalspawn.

Foundling is a Shadow Adept who can use Shadow Weave Magic as well as some Shadow Magic. The mod introduces a new kind of magic with its own advantages and disadvantages. Even though Foundling is recognised as a mage, he can't use the Weave. In exchange he is given his own dark spells - mostly dark versions of well known spells, but there are some brand new ones too.

The mod is both an NPC and quest mod and introduces new characters, areas, music, items, soundset etc.

Foundling is not romanceable, but the character will still talk to you a couple of times, so no worries.

You didn't include the VERSION -flag to indicate that this is still a beta. Not that that's a big deal, as the version flagging is everymods own business.

It's a bit early as there could be a huge bug that was not ran into, as the mod might need a bit testing, and at least 1 translation. ( )

However, I have a question too: how much of the mod content will be available without taking Foundling into party, if any? See, as much as I love new maps, I love my old party, so it will be a hard choice if I'll had to pick one.

Well, you need him in the party, but if you wish, then only for this one quest. It starts before the fight with the Shadow Dragon, you need to visit one area and the move to 3 new areas. But maybe you'll actually like him. Give him a chance

And I have waited for your in-progress mods in silence for some time now So, I'm very happy this is out now. Very cool idea with the trailer. Perhaps oddly enough, we don't get to see any dialog or interaction bits. Mystery shrouds this man's personality -- is he that much on the anti-heroic side? A "shadow-cowboy without cows"?

The new spells seem to be quite a hook, here. I'd definitely like to check out how it all plays together, with the things he has to say and the backstory.

This trailer was always to show the visual stuff To clarify - the character is not "E.V.I.L. buhahaha". He's just cold and he does not get mad when you help others, he just belives it's pointless. He won't make you change your mind as he was a prisoner himself. He believes power and alliance is a condition of survival and he does not want to become weak again. He also believes that many aspects of culture is pointless, that theatre is pretending to be insane and believing in obvious lies... he does not match this world but on the other hand he's not going to change it or try to take the control over it.

Hi!

I have been playing with Foudling and I have been enjoying him a lot. His character is complicate and interesting, and the quest / magic /everything so amazing!

I have however ran into a bug that prevented me from continuing to have him in my party every once in a while he reacted as I had told him to go away from the party itself, not once, but often several time in a row, and every time I told him not to go anywhere he ''forgot'' his spells...

I just wanted to tell you of this and to praise you for this mod!

Tiz, was any other NPC behaving this way, or only this NPC?  I've had this happen to me before with other NPCs, but no idea what causes it.
