A spell of mine drains the caster's XP using a repeating EFF. Used by a lower-level character, it works fine, but used by Edwin, who has reached the level cap for BG:EE, his total remains the same. Why?
Maxed-out characters not subject to XP loss?

By how much ?
The XPcap can hide the amount of XP the char has... so set it to.. 50 000, and give the char 150 000 xp and it won't move until you remove more than the 100 000 xp from the char. Which is to be expected. Also removing XP from a char that has leveled up already, doesn't modify their levels or other things. So the xp amounts are minimum to level up, but cannot move them downwards.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

That's what I suspect, that excess XP after level cap isn't shown.
