A spell of mine was showing strange saving throws when used on a PC. This was not supposed to happen, because for PCs I was using a GOODCUTOFF-targeted EFF, one without a saving throw (as something accepted). There were two other effects, for NEUTRAL and for EVILCUTOFF, to represent the same power forced on them, and they had saves vs. spell. Well, Quayle kept showing some kind of save, until I figured to remove from the spell everything except this EA - NEUTRAL targeted effect. And sure enough, that was it.

Completely flabbergasted.

Edit: and he responds to EVILCUTOFF as well! And to GENERAL change! The Use EFF File opcode has been completely screwed up. Anybody know why that may have happened?

The settings: Regular spell, spell ability, Power 3, Duration 2, Dispel 1, save vs. spell at -2.

Okay, it was a bit of a false alarm. It turned out that even though wrong IDS entries (EA, GENERAL etc.) do not actually trigger, their saving throw, if there is one, sometimes gets made. It doesn't affect anything, but it may show.
