I've encountered the same plane of air movie-mode problem that I had with v. 1.1: shortly after entering the PoA, the game goes into movie-mode (characters stand around yawning, all the controls disappear, none of the keyboard commends [except quit] work). I did a clean install of the game to make sure that there were no legacy mod issues. I'm on a Mac (OS X), running ToB. Perhaps this is related to ToB, which on the Mac is relatively new (less than a month).

Ah... that's possible. None of the testers had a mac so if it's a mac specific bug, I have no idea how to fix it.

I know people have run Chloe pre-ToB on the Mac, so it looks likely that the new Mac BGII engine is the problem. I've posted my problem on Balduran's Adventurer's Spa & Grill, a Mac-specific infinity-engine site. Hopefully, someone with more technical prowess than I will figure out a fix. I was looking forward to playing Chloe (and invested a day in messing with mods, trying to figure out what was going on).

Hrm, some weirdness. The Imoen-Chloe romance stalled for me before "Good Morning Nightingale"... I only figured out about it when Chloe insisted on leaving at the tree of life dialogue (as far as I know, I've done nothing to piss her off other than raise dead after the dragons, and drop swords as instructed.)

If I force-talk her, I get the "Good morning..." dialoge from Imoen. Followed immedately by the "Ever think of settling down" speech. She still wants to leave.

Do you have a save before it stalled out? Because you only got like halfway through the Chloe-Immy romance... which is why, I assume, you had this problem. I'm not sure why it would have stalled out though... O.o

Yeah, is there anything I should be looking for in specific?

Also, is there a way to speed things up? I've done the top level of watcher's keep, kangaxx and a bunch of other mucking around trying to let the two lovebirds catch up and I'm running out of things to do.

Another bug is that when she leaves, I get the cut-away animation, Chloe runs into the northwest wall of the waterfall room and the game gets stuck there.

I had the same problem (in v1.1 though), the Chloe/Imoen romance was finished, but my CHLOEINTEREST was quite low (7 or so). Chloe said she didn't want to risk her life for me and left. I thought that was quite strange, she should stay to protect Imoen, shouldn't she ? The "no end of movie mode"-bug occured, too, the only way I could fix that was to increase CHLOEINTEREST to 10.

Yeah. I get the "I'd be a fool to risk my life for you speech" (even though I've tried to be very friendly with her), switch to movie mode, she runs into the NW wall, gets stuck and movie mode never ends.

Yes she's supposed to stay in the party if she's romancing Imoen no matter how she feels about the PC. Was Imoen too far away or invisible? It shouldn't matter but I'll look into it. Though I'm rather dumb when it comes to the technical aspects of Chloe. I'll do the best I can.

After you reinstalled, did you try starting a new game? The kit information is saved in the save file, reinstalling would only affect the .cre file itself. The only way to change it in an ongoing game would be editing it with shadowkeeper or near infinity.

ah, ok, will edit with shadowkeeper

maybe unrelated problem, cant seem to assign * to scimitar or short sword anymore. stuck at 2 and 3 * respectively.

will i be able to fix the unwieldable chloe weapon with shadowkeeper? seem to be related to the bug above.

maybe you can make a option to recreate chloe from the .cre file? kinda like how valen recreate its weapons/armour

cheers. chloe has nice dialogue B)

That would be because now she's a fighter/archer.

Well technically you can. You just have to kill her, boot her from the party, and use the control panel to CreateCreature("Chloe#") the number being the closest level to your current one. I think the Chloe .cre files are Chloe7, Chloe9, Chloe11, and Chloe13, but I'm too lazy to check. You can just look under Chloe/Creatures to be sure.

Anyway after creating her you talk to her and get her to rejoin (you'll likely get the Blasted thieves! dialogue, but no worries.) After she joins it's probably best to tell her she looks funny, though it may not be necessary. Doesn't hurt.

No it shouldn't... as far as I know. I had to do it a few times when we were patching Chloe during testing, whenever a change to her .cre file was made we either had to start over or do the kill-kick-create method. I never noticed it disrupting the dialogues as long as I didn't leave her dead for longer than a minute or so.

hmm.. ok. if you say so

coz i remember that asking any original npc to rejoin (after they leave the party) ends the romance. ie petrification, imprisonment etc.

oh well, already edited her via shadow keeper. so far so good :)

oh suggestion, dialogue choices shouldn't have a "right" answer, ie, choose it or the dialogue ends. if you make all optionas have 2-3 exchanges, it would be better. (other than the blantant "no, i dont want to talk about it" reply)

Most dialogue choices to result in several exchanges. Some leave Chloe with little to no reply however. I made her as realistic as possible, as in sometimes she just gets baffled or speechless. If she throws you a bone for a conversation and you say "That's nice." or something similar, she won't have anything else to say other than "... ok." *shrug*
