Could someone please confirm whether this mod is two seperate components or just the one? - BWS for BWP seems to think that there should be two seperate files, but there appears to be only the one available for download: Askaria_Quest v1.3.rar.

Yes both mods are in that download Askaria_Quest v1.3.rar. I have installed them in my current BWP.

Thank-you, - at least that is one less thing I should see in the list of warnings! :)

What do you do after you received the powder from the smith? Talking to Pie at the Inn led to no results and the manor ist empty except for the guards and that standard noble npc. I can't find the mother of that child that died in the dragon's cave either :(

You mean that Askaria died at Dragon Cave?

 

If Askaria is dead then reload earlier save, you need Askaria later.

Sadly enough I don't haven an older save...I guess I have to skip the quest then...

Is there no console cheat you can use, provided you can find the relevant ids in the mod files?

Well..you don't need earlier save, because Askaria is party member, why can't you resurrect (i always forget this and reload myself) her with scroll "raise dead" or at some temple.

 

You need her at final scene with her parents because she has some dialogues with her parents.

 

You could try this also, open cheat console and type this:

I rarely bash mods, but this piece of work compels me to do so.

 

The mod is bad, really. Here's what come to my attention after 10 minutes of encountering it's content ingame:

- it's actors are named "Outlaw1", "Outlaw2" and so on up to "Outlaw6", but the winner is a person named "Helmington, Askaria's father of Askaria";

- mod opened by a horrendous dialogue along the lines of:

Charname: Hey! You! Why don't you let the girl alone?
Bandit: You bastard! Who d'ya think you are?
Charname: I am a *HERO*!

with "I am a *HERO*!" being the only option to answer;

- last, but not least, the mod only work if you accept 2 mod's NPCs on board, the reason why I ditched horrible NeJ and otherwicely great TS.

 

All in all, it seems like an alpha version with a temporary placeholders for dialogues and NPCs, further mislabeled as a quest mod instead of NPC mod.

I have to add that the encounter is unavoidable, set on the streets of Beregost, right in front of Feldepost's Inn – which is one of the earliest (almost obligatory for a low-level party) shops in the game. The Outlaws fire ice arrows, completely wiping my test party that skipped on every fight from the game start. After reloading the nearest quicksave, I buffed them pre-battle and lost only Jaheira in the fight... Most archers fired at the little girl, and she held out good. If you refuse to accept her into a party, she literally removes the pants off the main character – well, in a non-erotic way. She moves really slow, has basically no abilities nor XP (yet some memorized spells), and high resistances to missile and cold damage... Making her a tank for this specific battle, at least.

 

When you enter the inn, some random guy speaks to you, and you have two dialogue options: literally "..." and mildly insulting him. If you choose the latter, he kills you instantly; with the former, he hastes and runs away; I got to the oracle at the top floor, her dialogue seems ether poorly translated, or badly written from the go. But the mod is kinda funny: well at least it's intended to be humorous... And should be marked as such in BWS. With some proofreading and some minor rewriting (at least fix the creature names mentioned above), it could be a fun mod – with some trial-and-error style gameplay. But it IS immersion-breaking nonetheless, and can possibly screw up your installation, since it starts before you can do any proper leveling and/or gearing up.

Well you probably haven't met Little Sapphire Dragon or Hagamemnon yet, those are more epic battles than those "easy" Outlaws. :P

 

I liked the mod even though battles were "kind" of hard for BG1. Also mods "english" was funny like Tales of Anegh mod but i don't know was funny english due to translation or was mod funny from the start.

 

Over all i think that mod is great addition to BWP expert-install. :D

There is another bug that I have found which hopefully will be easy to solve.

 

For the chaos knight you should be able to put ***** in blunt weapons with the exception of staves.

 

This works fine for maces and flails but not for hammers.

 

Thought that you would want to know.

Just realised that flails are not a blunt weapon, so you should only be able to put ** there, not *****.

 

Looks like the code for flails has been put where it should have been the code for hammers.

There is another bug that I have found which hopefully will be easy to solve.
The code: line 62 with Notepad++ looks like:

The Blunt Weapons proficiencies are not even used by the game, as the User Interface doesn't give the options to put points to them in the character level up screen, as it's before the Bastards Swords... and the Morning Stars are tied to the Flails in the original game.

By coincidence I installed this mod with my expert all-you-can-eat BWS installation.

Not commenting quality(??) or content (?) of the mod, blocking Feldepost in Chapter2 of the game already should be avoided. All it needs is in ar6700.bcs to add

When Askaria leaves, the overpowered ring she leaves with the PC doesn't seem to do what it's supposed to.  Has anyone ever fixed this?  It doesn't have the level 1 / 2/ 3 spell resistance. Tested by successfully getting hit by magic missiles repeatedly.

 

Just to answer my own question I've downloaded and looked at the .itm file with dltcep and it's missing the level 1 and level 2 parameters that would block those level spells (it only had a level 3 spell block).  In case anyone wants, I've fixed it.
