CHECK MY 2nd LAST POST FOR THE LIST!

I've been playing IWD2 for over a year, and have been recreating my party too many times to remember. I love the choices you get when leveling characters, and started writing detailed description of my choices. Now I've got a 26-page  wordfile that I think contains many useful insights into the game, from weapon choices, skill point picks, to mod installation order. Even if you won't recreate my party, it gives you tips to improve your own party.
Edit 08/30/09: NEW versions of my guide will appear here,
Also, NEW updated link-list is to be found here.

I hope this is helpful

Also, if you're interested in playing Weimer's Icewind Gate 2 conversion of Baldur's Gate: Shadows of Amn, check out the bug reporting forum:
ppg-iwg2
NEW! Nameless One made an unofficial delta version. He mailed it to me, you can download it below too. Nameless One is Chinese, and there are a few bits of chinese that pop up here and there, nothing harmful. I noticed the month names are in chinese in your save games, and the word journal in your journal is chinese now. Since my PC doesn't recognize it, it looks like *#*)@~. This is not harmful at all. The delta comes with an uninstall option, as opposed to the beta version, which is a big improvement.
Edit - warning: the delta version adds itself to the weidu log, and seems to use an old version of WeiDU, because it alters the Ease-of-use mod data in the log. The component names are replaced by '????????', meaning they can't be uninstalled, and may not work anymore. This is the fault of the Ease-of-use mod, because it was always fragile, and needs WeiDU 2.04 or higher to coexist with other mods. If you have it installed, you may prefer the IWG2 beta version, and use the old technique of copying Override, Chitin.key, dialog.tlk and WeiDU log, so you can restore the previous installation.

Check out my post below to find a comprehensive list of all mods, and feel free to add anything I've missed.

This also contains links to every IWD2 mod out there (that I know of).

The attachment on this site is complete, and contains the dll-ed IWD2.exe modified by Mindchild's custom dll, it's useful if you have a 32bit PC, because custom dll doesn't work on those. I hope MindChild doesn't mind... no pun intended.

I hope this is helpful

I ask that you please remove this file for the following reasons:

1 - You didnt ask before posting
2 - your file contains the EXE from the purchased game which is copyrighted (and you do not own the copyright)...intellectual property laws and such...you know.

You can however link people to http://www.sorcerers.net/ or here

Parts of this post are copied from my and Windwalker's posts on BlackWyrmLair.
THIS SHOULD BE A FULL LIST OF LINKS TO ALL MODS:

A large collection of IWD2 Guides and walkthroughs (and miscellaneous other stuff, which could be useful) can be found in these pages:

Slowdown Fixes: http://www.sorcerers...lowdown_Fix.zip

Level 40 XP patcher: http://www.sorcerers...D2/XPCapper.zip
Level 40 extended tables: http://www.sorcerers...dedTables40.zip
you can't have one without the - other :whistling:

IWD2 Modified Scripts: http://www.sorcerers...WD2/Scripts.zip

Improved Initiative Workaround: http://www.sorcerers...IWD2/ii_fix.zip

Double XP in Insane Mode: http://www.sorcerers...D2/Moncrate.zip
Tweaked Experience Tables: http://www.sorcerers...d_xp_tables.php
these alter moncrate.2da, you can do this by hand, to suit your style. Download my guide above, it also contains a modified moncrate.2da file so you have a level 40 experience table, AND always get some XP for kills. None of the other tables does both. Drop it in Override folder AFTER Level 40 Extended Tables.

Feats & Skills Mod: this is a cheat, and will spoil the challenge of creating your character. But here's the link:
http://www.sorcerers..._Skills_Mod.zip

Cleric Domains: http://www.sorcerers...WD2-clerics.zip
Subraces: http://www.sorcerers...D2-subraces.zip
these remove existing races and classes, I didn't bother.

Ease-of-Use: http://www.sorcerers...r-IWD2-Ease.rar
IMPORTANT: update you WeiDU installer for this mod, it's old...

Chosen of Mystra IWD2 Store Add-on: http://forums.chosen...x.php?topic=6.0

This is a link to the Light of Selune mod:
http://www.sorcerers...ghtOfSelune.zip
DON'T install Class Upgrades component - you get mostly crippling restrictions. I included the original files for the Cera Sumat sword, you can drop it in override to bypass the wisdom requirement this mod gives it {update: just install Ease-of-use's Improved Holy Avenger AFTER LoS, and it overwrites the sword}. What Class Upgrades does do is add Stoneskin and Tremor to the druid selection at level 5 and 8, respectively. Stoneskin is added by Ease-of-Use at lvl4, but moving Tremor from lvl9 to 8 is quite useful. Install the component, open a savegame with a high level druid, pick some tremors at level 8, save game or export character, uninstall the component, open new save or import character... voilá: Your druid has Tremor at level 8!

MindChild's customdll fix: Monks can wear robes, Paladins of Mystra can choose sorcerer.
http://www.sorcerers.../IWD2Custom.rar
Read the readme: you need to adjust the config file to suit your play.

Tactics for IWD2:
http://www.sorcerers...actics4IWD2.rar
This new version IS playable in Heart of Fury mode. The updated readme states numerous bonuses and changes for Heart of Fury mode, so ignore the warning about not playing it in HoF, that should have been removed. Be warned that your party is subject to an alignment change after a certain mission, so read the readme.
If you don't want the alignment change, I contacted the author, and he sent me 65MAXHP.BCS as an attachment, you can download it in IWD2_4dummies above. If you like the original Otiluke's Resilient Sphere spell as it was without invisibility, remove EFFORS1 from
the Override folder after installing Tactics4IWD2. To avoid the alignment change after a mission, drop 65MAXHP.BCS
into Override.

Weimer's Icewind Gate 2, an abandoned beta. It transfers the entire game of Baldur's Gate 2:Shadows of Amn. Download the conversion from the link below, and don't ignore the bug reporting forum!
http://www.sorcerers...f=IWD2/IWG2.rar
The forum:
http://forums.pocket...ic,23874.0.html
You WILL need the walkthrough at hand to avoid bugs and crashes:
http://www.sorcerers...Walkthrough.rar
There are issues getting mods to work in IWG2, but I'm trying to get them solved.

At the bottom are a bunch of overpowered items you have to cheat into the game. Find them at: http://sol.usc.edu/~...lina/downloads/
(they're listed in the middle of the webpage)
I checked them out, but never used them. {update: i did in Heart of Fury chapter 6, they're not that overpowered in HoF, actually} WARNING: Don't select the Pocket Transmuter or Crate of Planar Rest when you're in the store screen or the game will crash - makes sense: You'd be selling a store and an inn to a store!

My CharCreaTips.doc is hosted here, see download above.

Almost forgot to mention the IWD2NPC project:
http://www.gibberlings3.net/iwd2npc
I didn't use this myself, as character creation and leveling choices (with powergaming in mind) is my favourite aspect of the game.

Below is my new weidu log, this install order allows you to play all mods I could find in working order. If you install Ease-of-use's Improved Holy Avenger component AFTER Light of Selune, you won't have to worry about the Cera Sumat sword 13WIS restriction.
Bottomless bags don't work unless you install it with the newest WeiDU, and a new druid spell, Magic Circle against Evil, can be memorized, but not cast.

If you try to install IWG2 AFTER all this, it will work, but I couldn't use any of the spells added to the
druid book - they're still there, but became uncastable. :crying: No one has any idea how to fix this yet, and I doubt
W. Weimer has time. Until I find out how to give my druid back his mojo, I'm only playing the Baldur's Gate megamod. {update: I'm playing it anyway, and trying to get this and other issues fixed in the process}

3 'mods' alter the IWD2.exe file and not the WeiDU log. Thes can be installed at any point I think, but in the following order:
First the newest Customdll patch, alter the settings first to your liking. Then the Level 40 XP patcher, so it takes precedence over the customdll component, just to be on the safe side. Lastly the no-cd crack for IWD2, both other patches won't work if you run the no-cd beforehand. I haven't linked the no-cd crack here, this is mainly because many modders are opposed to this sort of thing (it promotes 'piracy'). I'm afraid they will report abuse to the site that hosts it :crying: . It's important to have this kind of thing around, so you can rely on disk images to install the game. The disk drive on my laptop is broken, so I can install it no other way. To find the crack, read my file "install order for IWD2 mods" in IWD2_4dummies

Additional Druid Spells is last here because I tried to get it to work by installing AFTER Weimer's Icewind Gate 2, but this results in crashes upon loading. So I just re-ran IWG2.exe and it re-installed at the end.

A great post, thank you. It was very helpful to me for figuring out a way to combine the great IWD mods after a few years away. Best post on the web I have found.

Thank you for your time,

Weimer's Icewind Gate 2, an abandoned beta. It transfers the entire game of Baldur's Gate 2:Shadows of Amn.

I just recently caught wind of this mod and it is sort of what I asked a while ago about making the Icewind Dale II GUI into BG.

Since the mod is still in the "beta" stage and doesn't seem to have any real updates, is anyone intending on picking up this mod and expanding it (hopefully finishing it and maybe making it like BGT) or was this simply doomed to be started but never finished like most potentially wonderful mods?

I don't know about anyone else, but Baldur's Gate had the storyline, Icewind Dale II perfected the gameplay. It would be nice to see the BG series playable under this mod.

If only I knew how to code...

First of all, I apologize for the appallingly late reply  , I haven't checked on this old thread for ages.

who_is_daniel, I believe you'll find the following thread even more helpful: Comprehensive Link-list of ALL IWD2 mods

Onigami, the beta version of Icewind Gate II is very near completion, from my experience of it. I went through the entire Shadows of Amn game with few difficulties. I can even travel to Watcher's Keep  , which leads me to suspect Throne of Bhaal might be playable! Unless you don't know anything about cheat codes, or are unwilling to use them, then I definitely recommend it  .
The IWG2 walkthrough will help you through the Icewind Gate II game.
You can read about my IWG2 gameplay experience in the IWG2 HoF thread and the Create Creature thread. :crying: Sorry for all the links to the Boards o' Magick, but that's where I usually debate and report stuff. You can read even more helpful stuff in my latest IWD2_4dummies guide.

EDIT: ToB is incomplete. Check the bottom of this thread for a summary of Watcher's Keep.

:crying: Could anyone help me?

I installed Icewind Dale 2 with all the mods mentioned in coineineaghs guide, but I can't install Lights of Selune Mod. I posted this on Sorcerer's Place Forum, but no one seems to reply. I can send the debug file, if anyone wants to have a look. Thnk you very much.
