File Name: Make Bows usable by Cleric Rangers
File Submitter: Icendoan
File Submitted: 26 Oct 2008
File Category: Miscellaneous Released Mods
Forum: No Information
Readme: No Information

Exactly as it says. All it does is patch ALL bows and arrows in the game for C/R to use. Unzip to your BG2 directory and install,

Install after any mod that adds bows or arrows, or your C/Rs won't be able to use them.

Only for BG2!

Are you sure this won't work with the Icewind Dale, Heart of Winter&Trials of the Lore... as they use almost the same item names&item system?

It won't work for IWD2, as I think they have a different ITM format, but it might for IWD1, but it doesn't work for TuTu.

Doesn't work for PS:T.

You wrote only for BG2. What is with BGT?

I don't play BGT, so I am not sure. You can try it, if you like.

I would however, recommend Item Revision's component instead of this.

Pardon me while I ROFLMAO.

Heh, it works for me. :)

On that note, could you implement an IF extension, which automatically reads offsets if put in R(), so mine would be PATCH_IF R(0x1c) = 5 BEGIN?

Really? Are you sure you haven't installed a mod with the same feature? Both your PATCH_IF actions are DO_NOTHINGs.

BEGIN ~Hello World~
COPY_EXISTING_REGEXP GLOB ~.*\.itm~ ~override~
READ_SHORT 0x1c type
PATCH_IF type = 5 OR type = 15 THEN BEGIN
READ_BYTE 0x1f unus
WRITE_BYTE 0x1f (unus BAND 11111011)
END
BUT_ONLY

I can do that {{,S}{BYTE,SHORT},LONG}_AT(offset) thing alright. Doing so as a PATCH_IF extension would be harder and less useful.

I seriously would go to G3 and talk to Demivgrvs about this, cause he handles all this far better than me.

Had to replace hard drive, so downloading the mods again but when I download CR_Bows my anti-virus takes the file and reports it removed spyware.  HKTL_GAMEHACK is the file it keeps removing.  Is this a false positive?

There is no such a file in this archive... the anti virus can plame a file to be such ... but the archive only has twio files, a .tp2 file and the renamed weidu.exe which is known to have plenty false alarms. Now check that you are actually downloading this and not a virus infected file.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

Yep, same link as always used to download.  Checked the file and the anti-virus is removing the setup.exe, (renamed weidu.exe), and displaying the above mentioned warning...ie:  another false positive.  My anti-virus software is Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security, in case others encounter this issue...it appears the anti-virus is wrong again.  It even said two files on my OEM installation disc were generic trojans, which has been confirmed as a false positive.  Anyway, thanks for responding.  :)
