There are three schools of thought on this..I think it's disgusting that these people never bathe or brush.
1) The setting of these games equates to the middle ages. Back then there were plenty of plagues due to the poor hygine at the time. "Bathing oneself" for most commoners was simply washing their face and hands.. and even that wasn't a daily thing. Then there were the aristocrats, who more often coated themselves in perfumes than actually bathing fully.
2) It's a game with the option to go to an inn or camp, so it can be assumed that they bathe/brush every time they do so.
3) There's enough magic in the world that all children could have a "hygeine" spell cast on them at birth by the midwives - that way they never smell.

I'm dropping the hygiene mod, onto the werewolf mod, which i'm either going to do a werewolf PC or NPC. I may come back to the hygiene mod eventually, when i have some better ideas for it. but until then, i'll check this thread for any good ideas on it, if anyone wants to.

if you have the flirt pack and finish a romance you can bath with your romance partneryes, it is a somewhat lame idea. I just thought i would replace the jailkeep golem because i knew if i replaced him the gnoll wouldn't be in a wall. And yes, i was thinking that the hygeine should have somewhat of an effect on the characters, because i think it's disgusting that these people never bathe or brush.

What about adding an option at Inns take a bath,rest,eat,drink,that sort of thing.Maybe it would show a little cut scene of a bathtub instead of a Bed....

I actually LIKE the idea on this, Hygene IF it gave the CHA a boost.
What I like better is random people talking about something other than the same three lines for every peasant in Ahm. Maybe a banter pack that would add dialog (More realistic/impressive dialog to other NON NPC's in the game.
A Mod that would generate names for peasants and such. It is a sure bet that unless you see a name under that avitar you don't really need to even bother speaking to them. This would put a little guesswork in to who you need to speak with.

A Mod where relationships can be FUN too. There are a million little fun things people can do in relationships that are not covered by love/flirt talks)

A sickness mod - Walking around in the weather can't be healthy, make the characters ill sometimes and give them -3 to CONS for the duration.
A SLAP ANOMEN UPSIDE THE HEAD MOD!

I suggest someone introduces a Dried Frog Pills mod.

Thread resurrection... kinda pointless with the author lost last year...What about adding an option at Inns take a bath,rest,eat,drink,that sort of thing.Maybe it would show a little cut scene of a bathtub instead of a Bed....

Actually the barber idea could be used a gossip and rumour teller for plot leads or clues set him/her in a shop.
Throughout many stories and movies the barber has been used as a plot device, a source of information/black market goods, or site of incidences, massicares threats ect.
Some examples Micky Spilane stories as a roumur source, gunfight in "A fistful of Dollar's", the number gangster machine gunned while having a shave, and there is "Sweeny Todd" the murderous barber. Prohobision times the barber could have been a front for illegal booze.
