Yeah, I had the same problem. Maybe a miscode or something in the html? I'm sure this file is needed to have it work right so if someone could point the way to get that tp2 file it would be appreciated.

The tp2 file is included in the one of the other two needed files.

The "correct" tp2 file was lost in TeamBG land and I can't currently fix the link. Don't worry, things will be coming very soon.

To my understanding, CTB cannot as yet be installed because of the missing TP2 file....

am i right with this?

My 148 version is sitting there,.... waiting ... dreaming of release....

Isn't there anybody out there who downloaded the correct TP2 file before TBG went down?

Or should we just wait for the next incarnation of......du.du.dern....

Finally found one of my old mails I sent to answer this question before we had the forums again. Here's the process if you don't have the .tp2 that was lost- I don't even have it. (And hopefully once I can update the website, I'll have the newer .tp2)

Unfortunately, the "correct" .tp2 file has been lost in TeamBG land and I can't get it for you.  What you can do- if you think you can do it- to fix the crash is this:  search the .tp2 file in your BG II directory for the text "COPY_EXISTING ~AR0500.ARE~" and delete from that line to the next "COPY_EXISTING" command then insert the following text at that point.  If you can't do that, there's no current way that I can help you, and I hope that you understand that it's not really my fault, it's just the fact that I didn't expect TeamBG's servers to get hacked.

Here's the Text you need to replace:

After you do that, I strongly suggest you not use your save game as that may also cause problems because of the way the game works.

CBisson,

Re. replacing the .TP2 code. I did as suggested but to no effect for the saved game. It still crashes. In your strong suggestion not to use the saved game were you impying that replacing the code may still not allow the saved game to go to the Bridge District but that new games will?

Thanks

For the new TP2 to take effect, you need to uninstall then reinstall the mod, this time using the updated TP2 file. Otherwise the area file in question won't be fixed.
Provided you couldn't reach the modified area before, it will not be in the save game you have, therefore you should be able to restart from your save game after the new installation.

Mine was crashing when trying to go to the bridge district. I uninstalled, made the edits to the tp2 file mentioned, and now get errors when trying to install - with BG2 not being able to run.

After editing the tp2 file, I started getting many errors during install. I checked the backup folder, and there weren't any folders there, so I made the "0", "1", and "2" folders as recommended on the instructions page. I'm getting these errors:

"[checkbod/backup/3/UNSETSTR.3] SET_STRING uninstall info not found

I didn't notice getting any install errors until modifying the tp2 file as described above (to try to take care of the problem of it crashing when I try to go to the Bridge District).

KMA - what ended up working for you? Just modifying the tp2 file as suggested? Did your saved game file work (or did you have to start over)?

I'm modifying the tp2 file in notepad - anything wrong with doing it that way? I don't think notepad puts in any of its own formatting information, which might screw it up, but I could be wrong.

Good News/Bad News

Good News - I edited the .TP2 file in Notepad and uninstalled/reinstalled CtB. I entered the Bridge District. After taking care of business...

Bad News - I can't get out. If I attempt to leave the BD the game crashes just as it did when I couldn't get in. Is this the reason why I shouldn't continue to play the saved game?

Continued assistance continues to be appreciated. Thanks.

At this point I'm trying to decide if there's any real NEED to go to the Bridge District. Yes, there's the skinner quest... hmmm... what else...

I edited the tp2 file as CB instructed and reinstalled CtB. The bridge worked, but there were alot of odd problems so I reinstalled the whole game. Everything seems to work fine now with the bridge for a long time, except now my druid grove is crashing the same way! Not sure if its CtB or something else I have installed....

Might be best to wait for the new version of CTB!

Does anybody know if the big CB is nearly done yet?
